I’m in New York but my tank uses almost 50% less ATO in the winter vs summer. The air is usually dryer in the winter especially with home heaters on and that causes more evaporation. Our summers here are more muggy with more humidity and that causes less evaporation. Interested to see how yours is different out there in Southern California
I like this method for killing flatworms, bristleworms, but do you think the freshwater dip will kill Aiptasia? Going to have to try this with some aiptasia.
@@eatsleepreef9565 True and I was totally missing the point you were making. It also doesn’t surprise me the ghl doser can handle large amounts water, they do make some super nice gear. Thanks my friend.
No worries brother. The only reason these can do it is bc they are stepper motors and not your typical Dc motor. But ya for the size of these heads they are a work horse. The apex dos seem nice too 🤙🏼
Hey that what I did also dip the chaeto in fresh water i did it for 24 hours though. I didnt know it willll work or not when I did it my thought that i have to do something before put in on the sump, but nice to know other people do it too.
I have been seeing some videos and I saw that if u have more tangs in a tank there will be less aggression. This is the 120 gallon stocking list I’m planning on having. I will have strong filtration with a refugium and an oversized skimmer. Do u think this stocking will be ok. If not what should I add or take away from this list to make it better. Fish: 2 Clownfish (most probably Ocellaris Clownfish) 2 Banggai Cardinal 1 Tomini Tang 1 Purple Tang 1 Powder Blue Tang 1 Coral Beauty Angelfish 1 Royal Gramma 1 Yellow Wrasse 1 McCosker‘s Flasher Wrasse (male) 1 Leneatus Wrasse 1 Pink/Purple Firefish 1 Geometric Pygmy Perchlet 1 Randall’s Prawn Goby Invert: 1 Blue Tuxedo Urchin 1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp 1 Randall’s Pistol Shrimp 30 Nassarius Snails 10 Cerith Snails 20 Trochus Snails
The salt you are using it has got phosphate I’ve noticed a different straight away when I changed from red sea pro salt. Maybe a little heads up for you
Did you ever mention how much time you put the chaeto back in saltwater between the 2 hour freshwater baths? I went back to watch again but I missed it...
they're great for people who dont stick their bare hands in the tank and sumps etc at random. if you have an aversion to gloves bristleworms suck but i agree great CUC members for those of us cautious enough to check for them before grabbing things. LOL
Those can’t live past 30-40min even in egg form. There is write ups on this. So 4hr pretty much eradicates it. Heck you could even go for 6hr if you want.

Ya you may be correct. I’ll have to wait this summer to see where we come out. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s close to 3gal a day.
Love your set up, Keep up the good work
🙏

I would say it will kill it. If anything do 6hr and I can almost gurantee. I have no aiptasia or I would try it
My neptune DOS has been dosing 4 gallons a day for 2 years and on the same heads.
Ya but those are actual peristaltic pumps which are a lot bigger heads. Yours were designed specifically for large amounts.

Thanks for another helpful video. Happy Reefing!!!!
have you experienced any damage to the chaeto from the fresh water dips?

Fresh water dip would kill aiptasia too ?
Probably not 100%

Fish:

2 Banggai Cardinal
1 Tomini Tang
1 Purple Tang
1 Powder Blue Tang
1 Coral Beauty Angelfish
1 Royal Gramma
1 Yellow Wrasse
1 McCosker‘s Flasher Wrasse (male)
1 Leneatus Wrasse
1 Pink/Purple Firefish
1 Geometric Pygmy Perchlet
1 Randall’s Prawn Goby
Invert:
1 Blue Tuxedo Urchin
1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp
1 Randall’s Pistol Shrimp
30 Nassarius Snails
10 Cerith Snails
20 Trochus Snails
That’s a great list 🤙🏼 I wouldn’t change anything

It does have some but for my tank that runs at 0 it can use a little haha
Why don't you run RO tubing directly from your RO holding tank for ATO?
Will the chaeto quarantine process also work for just normal refugium? I was concerned that qtine. would kill off chaeto since I just cycled the tank.
Did you used tap water or rodi water?
Do you run GFO as well as Cheato Refugium, if you do how does that work when the GFO removes all of the PO4?
Nope that’s a big no no
@@eatsleepreef9565 thought so, so no GFO get the red field ratio back up to allow Cheato to grow and add a bit of iron now and then?
Does the fresh water dip work with calerpa?
No idea. You would have to try it
Thanks for the video

Wrote it in the description. It was 2hr after
Great tip
Thanks man my cheato almost died after one hour
Will this method kill aptasia?
There's nothing wrong with bristle worms. They're awesome (free) CUC. I've had them in my tanks for over a decade and I like them.
I hate when people think there bad, there great scavengers lol
Theu are great till they become a problem

First comment, like and view.
🤙🏼😊
why something would be called "peacewar"?? XD
Hi
Where did you get the chato reactor?
Unique corals
@@eatsleepreef9565 Thank you!!
maybe find a better source of clean cheato good tip
Even then I wouldn’t trust it. I would still do this to be 100% sure.
I would be afraid of aiptasia in the chaeto..
I still wouldn’t trust it for ich or velvet
