The only problem I have with Bridgertons cast is Michaela. That's the only role where they went too far genderbending, bc it changes the whole story of the 3 characters - Francesca, John and Michael(a) completely, and not to the better.
@@happydaze7976 the book author shouldn't have agreed for this, honestly. There couldn't be a happy end to such a story in the Regency era, and even in modern times the part of the love triangle that starts right after the bride meets the groom's sibling is complicated enough to most probably not end well. And all Bridgertons have happy ends, so it means they will have to alter the story more and more until they fake the happy end. While the only way out Francesca would have in real life in our times,. for example, would be to delay or cancel the marriage and immediately to go to therapy, and then find someone else to make a couple with, bc it's 100% unethical to marry either the groom you've just emotionally cheated on or their sibling.
I agree 100 percent, I have no problem changing things, I'm all for Queer Joy, HOWEVER they literally like you said took MICHAEL away, not just that when they finally do get together, what children are they having now ? Cuz I don't see that happening...back then adoptions to same sex couples weren't a thing. So yep they messed a LOT up!
Everything in S3 was bad and there was no good story. The season needs to be condemned and redone. Colin and Penelope may look like they’re book counter parts with coloring differences. But their characterization was horrendous. The previous showrunner didn’t adapt the story. Exactly like the books, but he definitely kept the integrity of the characters matched the vibe of the story. Anthony was very much like “ I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too.” And the previous showrunner kept that that energy. Simon and Daphne are Fire 🔥 and water 💧 Both in their temperament and personality. He also kept that vibe. FIRE 🔥 & WATER💧 You were RED♥️➕And you liked me because I was Blue🩵= You touched me and suddenly. I was a LILAC 💜sky. After Daphne got married, her new color became lilac. I don’t know who Colin and Penelope are in this parody fanfiction that (Jess) wrote. She destroyed everything special about them. And took away everything unique. She actively gave Penelope‘s traumatized victim story to Cressida the very person who in the books caused so much of her trauma and victimization. She took from Penelope and gave to Cressida for what reason ? Cressida is to Penelope what Burbrook was to Daphne an antagonist. Her only place in the story should’ve been her antagonizing the main characters that’s it. We didn’t need all this extra. She gave Cressida more character development than Colin and he is the Bridgerton. The story is supposed to be about. She poured money into building her a whole ass set so we could see where she lives. Instead of doing Polin flashbacks. And for what reason ? Victimizing Cressida only makes our main characters look like assholes, while taken away screen time for no reason because the story went nowhere. She took her exit out of the story like everybody else who was only there to antagonize the main character, And contribute to the main character story like Burbrook, Edwina, etc. If they wanted a complex nuance character, you had WHISTLEDOWN 🪶🤬 She closed and grossly simplified, Whistledown. To nothing. Whistledown 🪶 is not a goddamn HOBBY. She’s freedom she’s autonomy. She’s Penelope‘s livelihood. Whistledown was created out of hopelessness, created to have choices. It’s survival. The contradiction on top of the contradiction. (Jess) did to Whistletown 📜 . Whistledown is a character in of itself and should’ve been treated as such. Season 3 spent A LOT of time telling us that Lady Whistledown was a mistake and it was actively harmful and it ruined lives. And yeah, if you just watch Season 3, that sounds pretty damning and like it would be best for everyone that Lady Whistledown gets buried (or leashed by Queen Charlotte, which is what actually happens and I cannot TELL you how mad I was about that). The interesting tension with Whistledown was when Pen 🦢was directly challenging the Queen. 👸🏽 She was coming for the person who set the social norms and managed social attitudes in her level of society. That's FASCINATING, and Pen challenging the literal power that was directly and indirectly responsible for everyone being shitty to her and her family for two straight seasons is ENTIRELY valid and interesting. 🤔 And in 2022 interview (Chris) previous show runner. Said that Penelope‘s relationship with Queen Charlotte is interesting. 🧐 because Penelope sees her as the embodiment. Of everything wrong with society. Penelope in her work as Whistledown we see that she doesn’t really think very highly of the Queen👸🏽, and probably extension the Royal 🤴🏻 family. She sees them as oppressors. It does seem to indicate that Penelope sees the Queen🦚as the antagonist. A woman who pins women against each other for the amusement of Men. A woman fully indoctrinated into holding women prisoner. To the male established social structure. Not to mention the 2 times Penelope was presented in front of the Queen👸🏽the distain by the Queen👸🏽is quite evident. The queens open distain gives everybody else permission to treat Penelope like she’s lesser than. Like she’s just some fat ugly invalid. That isn’t even worth consideration. Hence, why she never has anything nice to say about her. But then Season 3 happened. Season 3 yelled with its whole chest that Penelope was bad and wrong and should be ashamed for saying mean things about people, and tweaked Queen Charlotte's brain so that that's what she cared about too, instead of caring that her authority was being publicly challenged. Like...I was here for seasons 1 and 2. Pen was deeply human in her motivations and deeply complex in what she did and did not publish. And season 3 flattened all of that to go *"BE ASHAMED BECAUSE YOU SAID MEAN THINGS."* Grossly simplifying, Penelope’s character is a huge injustice to her. I believe her writing is needed for her society to evolve. There Stagnant. A lot of artists were never appreciated in their time.🕰️ but if it wasn’t for them, the world would still be in the dark ages, and the great depression with still loom over us all. She’s not some maniacal monster 😈twiddling her thumb in a corner. Plotting how to take people down. It’s a commentary on the society that they are living in and the hypocrisy of the society they live in and showing that nobody is perfect💝. And it’s ridiculous all the expectations everybody’s expected to live up to and she’s proven more than once you can’t actually be ruined if you’re RICH💰 and BEAUTIFUL 💐 📜Whistledown🪶 is designed to sell 💰itself. It is guaranteed income. It plays on a psyche of the TON. The Mirror 🪞 symbol has many significance to Penelope. Her growing into her confidence, but most importantly, her work as Whistleddown, 🪶which is a direct Mirror 🪞 Reflection of society. I am always furious when nuance gets flattened, and this is a particularly egregious example of that. It tells us to think something that directly contradicts what the first two seasons showed us (which is shitty writing on two levels). What are the crimes is she actually committing telling over privileged narcissistic rich people that they’re not perfect. 🤩Because they’re fragile egos can’t take a little bit of criticism. Honestly they seriously need to get over themselves because you can’t be lovely ☺️ and flawless all the time. It’s toxic and it’s unrealistic and Penelope is just holding A mirror 🪞 to that. What are her other crimes not liking somebody’s dress 👗 that they’re only ever going to wear once ☝️ and never wear again OK 👌. Yeah she’s straight up evil 👿 Penelope is merely recapping, the Grammys the Oscars & the Emmys. All the events that happened ! what took place who was wearing what ! Who’s was best dressed, whose dress she didn’t like & most of those roast are usually directed to herself. “Overripe, citrus fruit “ 🍋 she called her self These out of touch aristocrats and members of the hierarchy are constantly overreacting and throwing hysteria over absolutely nothing. They are inheritors of generational wealth who’s only purpose is to secure it through arrange marriages and keep repeating the cycle, nothing lady Whistleddown🪶writes is gonna change that, what’s going to happen to them they ’re literally the ruling class so what they have a little scandal it will pass. In the wise words from our favorite drug 💊 dealer with a heart ♥️ of gold 🥇 -Fezco from (euphoria)- "Sometimes, people need to get their feelings hurt." and should check their privilege I can think of no other reason (Jess) would do this other than she hates Penelope and she hates Colin and she has no idea why they should be together. Because she didn’t just slap 👋 us in the face, she spat at us and kicked us. In a ditch. 🕳️ There’s clear favoritism I can see that Francesca is her favorite. And that’s fine a writer ✍🏻 can have their favorite but you don’t assassinate the other characters. She is projecting herself into Francesca. She took away Francesca sly wit. Her arctic fox like energy. Which I don’t think is that bad of a crime as far as characterization go, it’s not her season she can still grow into her personality. she kept her introverted shyness. And her like for isolation. But she’s definitely projecting herself into Francesca. She wants Francesca to have all of her quirks. And identify how she identify sexually. Before I saw the S3, I thought the only unforgivable offense was them making Colin a disgusting 🤮 Rake. But i was wrong 😑 the whole thing needs to be condemned.
@@Delfinalove82 My wild guess is that Queen Charlotte will allow same sex marriages, being touched with Francesca's and Michaela's future story. Sounds like a sugary fairy tale, but it feels so fake to me, plus the original book story simply gets dumped into the trash bin this way. The show goes to far from the books then. They will surely lose many fans that way.
You don't mention one thing about Kate tho. In the book, Anthony has always found Kate attractive, in a way much more so than Edwina. Like the first time he saw her, the man couldn't believe Kate is considered a spinster, lol, that's how immediately he was struck by her appearance. It shows very clearly that the ton is biased because Edwina is a more conventional beauty than Kate, and Kate has always been compared to her, besides the fact that most men found Kate's personality more intimidating than Edwina's (which is a huge factor btw). Kate is very much good looking, although not in the traditional sense as Edwina, and has a great personality that attracted Anthony.
WRONG he talked about her in the book as not being a beauty by the tons standards and Edwina was prettier than her. He only found her breathtaking after they fought alot

Do not like the Michaela storyline. I know some are saying “Don’t watch if you don’t like it” but that’s unfair to say. I know that changes are always made to adaptations but not when the change changes the storyline. Hated how they didn’t dedicate the entire 3rd season to Polin’s story.
I was so disappointed in that change. Michael and Francesca's story was one of the ones I looked forward to most. And now they ruined it for me. I hate when Netflix does that. This is a series that places not in a time I need to see slash romances. Especially not if it's based on a standing story that is different.

@@rlleo90 Then they really shouldn't change the book cover to match the show since they don't even follow the book, even the character profiles are different. They should've kept them separate, that would have been better.
Franchescas story was so important because despite losing her husband, miscarriage and infertility, she finally gets her happy ending. They destroyed the best story for the sake of wokeness 😢
I think that Francesca can expirience all this things (loss, miscarriage, infertility) and can even have an happy ending with Micaela instead of Michael. This change doesn't mean they will ruin everything. IDK... I remain optimist for now.
Nah it's totally different at that time they didn't even know what gay is its just unrealistic as fuck to have a happy ending with a women in public @@elenawho8886
@@cav21 Even black members of noble houses where really rare at that time or not accepted. I always considered "Bridgerton" as a ucronic series that creates his own regency era... So everything can happen! They can stay together mostly isolated in the castle and be considered "very best friends" by other people outside the family (a situation that could be very realistic in the past). I have faith!
I want an anime version of Bridgerton where the book is followed to the T. I have seen so many good anime versions of novels such as Little Women, Daddy Long Legs and Princess Sarah. Their version of Ramayana was also sooo good. I am sure they can give us a good anime version of Bridgerton as well. I want to see the actual story of the book so bad😊
Though I tried so hard to open minded, but ngl, the tv adaptation don't satisfy me. You know the feeling when you really like a certain food, and then you heard you'll get served that food, you anticipating it, but then the taste is not it. The chef being too much and ruining it. The food isn't satisfying your hunger and craving. That feeling. I miss the feeling of imagining Regency era and Jane Austen's vibe when I read the novel. Now I understand why Italian are so passionate about their food. The Bridgerton tv series season 1 and 2 basically that pineapple pizza, with ketchup. Season 3 is just like thinking adding Kimchi at the pizza is a good idea.
I was today years old when I learned that the Bridgerton children were named alphabetically. Now it all makes sense when the Duke says they should keep with family tradition and name their child with an A name. Duh. LOL 😅
Well they jumped a lot of the book story part. In the book, when the whole polin story comes to the romantic part, she is 28 and he is 32. And that age is that of a spinster in that era. That's one of the problems with adaptations. The changes are not thought well enough to keep logic and it ends up being weird and bad.
In the show they explain this. She calls herself a spinster which colin says she not because she been on the marriage mart for 3 years and still doesn't have a suitor. It not about her age at all.
@ayaninspire8142 Right, but I am talking about the show. Penelope isn't really a spinster, but she sees herself as one because no one looks at her, and she has low self-esteem.
@@Nyfiness some people did name her spinister, which is odd. It would be more realistic if they just aged them a little, since them falling in love in more mature age was important message from the book
I am mixed half Latina and white and although I would like to see more diverse actors, but not this way. It does a disservice to the struggles and obstacles that people that people of different ethnicities went through. Pretending that the bad stuff happened isn’t great
But this is supposed to be a fantasy in a way, and i love seeing people of all races in the same levels in society. Why don't you just take the series as is and appreciate the fact that it IS diverse despite it not being a 100% accurate to the regency era. If it was, there will be a lack of diverse characters anyway.
@@Ughotaythey’re not diverse, apart from the white race of the Bridgerton/Featherington family, I’ve only seen black race(literally ALL their male/female love interests) and southern Asian/Indian(Kate Sharma). Even in their diversity, they’re closed off. I’m black but it’s high time we see more races other than black. It’s also okay for there to be a White lead love interest. I honestly don’t mind. Just don’t focus on only black
As a person who read the books and watch the show. Here is my preference Book Daphne and Simon < Show Daphne and Simon Book Anthony and Kate < Show Anthony and Kate Book Colin and Penelope> Show Colin and Penelope
I agree EXCEPT Book Daphne and Simon post-marriage > Show Daphne and Simon post-marriage. I was BEGGING them to TALK! …after Daphne realizes that Simon CAN [biologically] have children (his “My soul won’t allow it.” line in the book! 🙌😢) …after Daphne’s betrayal… and they … everything after that point felt weak. Their pain was never resolved.
Sorry, to clarify: my complaint above is about Season 1, Episodes 7-8, after Daphne’s betrayal in Episode 6. Although I actually just went and rewatched it 😸 (part of E6, + all of E8) and their resolution is a lot more believable to me now.
@@zahra2420 ngl Benedict was AH in the books. I'm glad they changed him in the show. Was honestly surprised they made him more sweeter here. Spoiler: If I must say his attitude in the book is similar to Simon's but the difference is he wants kids but doesn't want the her to have the title of wife
Although, the cast did a good job. But I love the book looks and it just would've given a different feeling to it. I'm sad, they betrayed us with the show.
I have a feeling the Benedict story is going to be slightly or close to completely changed based on the current show runners statement in some interview that Benedict is supposed to be pansexual. I personally am not a fan of how the Benedict character has developed because I don’t understand how he is going to be fulfilled with one person. For this reason I don’t think he will be the focus of season 4 as his character will need to be developed even more.
I was so looking forward to S3 and for the most part it was ehh. It was too fast-paced for me and too many storylines. Very confusing. The romance was fine but not satisfying. I don't feel like rewatching S3 though (even though I love watching Nicola as Penelope) unlike the previous seasons and that's very disappointing since Polin's book is my favourite so I was most excited about their season. What I'm most bummed about even till now is the erasure of Penelope and Lady Danbury's friendship and their interactions. I've reread their interactions in the book sooooo many times. Way more than Pen and Colin's. I'm really not looking forward to the upcoming seasons.
I haven't read the book in a while, but I definitely remember book Simon being blonde with blue eyes. Could have sworn Penelope was a red heading the book too.
5:47 the description from the Penelope in the book is basically my apparence. Except my eyes are medium brown eyes and not dark brown. My hair is not dark brown, but light brown kinda reddish or coppery too. I'm also curvy and kinda short. Our personality is similar. No wonder why her story was my favorite book. I just didn't remember about her appearance in the book.
In my opinion the real cast looks really boring. I like that they chose people of different ethnicities in various shapes and sizes. I don’t think people should check boxes for the sake of checking boxes but the people selected are genuinely talented. I think the only one I’m disappointed in is Colin because the actor is still so boyish looking.
I started with the show and won’t continue to watch now that I know the truth about real characters. Now, I will read the books. Thanks for this video. The images and beautiful.
The some of the series characters are not the same as described in the books because the creator of the series wanted a more diverse cast to appeal to the global audience. Not historically accurate so it’s mostly fiction but entertaining.
I can't wait for Shaka Zulu staring Ryan Gosling... I'm sure it'll premiere right after Marie Lavou staring Miley Cyrus. I love diversity when it doesn't stab at historical accuracy. Like you said though, fiction is fiction
I wonder if the writers ever read the history on how the English treated anyone who wasn't British. Also, it would have been nice if someone actually read on how the women and the men dressed during the daytime at the time?

Colin wasn't anything like he was in the book. I was really disappointed in him. Also, the women only wore low cut gowns a night to a Ball. I felt the producers felt the only way to show Penelope was attractive was to shove her bust in our faces.
Its more like the events are being brought forward as there are big gaps in the book timeline, Daphne married in 1813, Anthony 1814, Benedict 1817, Francesca 1818 and Colin/Eloise in 1824. I think they should have gone Benedict/Francesca for Season 3 to reduce timeline impacts but were probably handicapped by the aging cast having started season 1 with many being significantly older than the character they play.
They are brothers with the same parents. Siblings usually look similar. Also, in the books, I believe the brothers were said to be strikingly like their late father in looks.
Yes, changed for our woke society, it wouldn’t be tolerated if it was a story that took place in Africa and characters were replaced with white or Asian people. Queen Charlotte was a real person and she was white
@@ShiverScenes have you watched the Queen Charlotte season? They explained it there, how black nobility appeared. It's a fantasy element in the show, but they still gave a reasonable explanation. I loved seeing actors of color in this show, I was happy both for them to land the job and play the roles and for the viewers that acknowledged their work and talent and loved the show.

I think netflix Simon and Kate have their own charm (especially the duke) they felt very right with both Daphne and Anthony. Loved the indian representation. But with the new black characters it felt forced. I want to see more asian and latino people :(
Wait, I thought one of the big aspects of the series was how POCs were included organically vs most other period pieces, but Simon isn't Black in the books??
No. The diversity is only in the TV show. In the books they are all white...just like they would have been in reality. They are British aristocrats. There was no diversity.
So that means in the show there's more diversity even among the white cast than in the book lol, since everyone except Edwina is a brown eyed brunette 😅
Honest im glad they changed up the characters. The real Simon would just look like one of the Bridgerton Siblings. I understand the books were written from a eurocentric view of beauty because duh time period and such , but it would have been conventionally generic but "attractive" white men with the same face. Thankful for the variety. The actors actually do the personalities justice so thats nice.
tutti i cambiamenti drastici erano molto più belli secondo il libro. Quelli scelti simili sono belli in entrambe le versioni. Questo piega perchè, se si "trae da un libro" bisognerebbe farlo con rispetto per l'autore del libro.
I think there's a lot of people with very high opinions regarding the development of Bridgerton, particularly season 3. I understand. What I don't like is the wishful downfall of the show and the condescending tone from those who dislike the show to those who enjoy it (like myself). It's odd, toxic, and fanbase (stan) culture. It's tired and immature.
It's immature to dislike when they take something you love and twist it into something that you think sucks? What's one of your favorite books or TV shows? Now imagine that they totally ruined it by changing the story so much that you really dislike it. You wouldn't be upset? Maybe learn that other people can have a different opinion and that's okay. Well I’ve read the books, I’m not surprised in this “ woke” society that the characters are changed, even Queen Charlotte who was a real person is played by someone not of her race. I think it takes away from the stories if you have read the books, and is unlikely in England generations ago.
DIVERSE casting is the standout point of Bridgerton. Otherwise it would have been lost in the sea of regency period dramas.. WHY do you have problem with a Fictional show, with poc actors getting a chance to shine? Author have no problem.. 😔😔
The queen Charlotte thing actually does refer to a historical element; the historical Charlotte actually also had or might have had black ancestry. Of course she would have looked mostly white but there is actually a historical precedent for her being mixed-race. And other than that, it's Fantasy Regency land, it was never meant to be historically accurate (and it's not).

After reading all the books, twice, and enjoying the stories, it was a weird discovery to see most of all the partners change race, name, ages, and description in general. Um, the books are works of fiction, not historical textbooks, so there isn’t any “changing of history” occurring if the show runners want to change the appearance/ethnicity of a character. They simply want to have a diverse cast in a FANTASY tv show, which they can do if they want to, because again, both the show and books are works of FICTION. Creative liberties can be taken in any fictional book/movie/tv show, so if you’re looking for historical accuracy, fictional works of art probably aren’t for you.
I like that the characters were redesigned for the show. A lot of people don’t want to admit it, but they would rather have a full white cast because they are racist….plain and simple
I think its a matter of sticking to the description of the books and keeping it as accurate as possible. If it was a japanese book about their aristocracy it would be weird to see diverse casting replacing original characters . It might be said it cheapens its accuracy and doesnt allow you to be fully into the story. On the other hand adaptation such as Persuasion done in 2023 afaik was a disaster mainly due to change of character of main lead plus diversed casting which made it bland and not specific😢
people aren't racist for wanting some semblance of realism and book accuracy. Give me a break. It's people like you who've made the term "racist" completely meaningless. If I hear about something supposedly "racist" now, I just automatically assume it's some chronically offended gen z'er playing the victim. Well done.
News flash - slavery was real. The 'ton' was full of slave traders. To overlook this fact simply so you can enjoy a mediocre love story set in the 1810s? The slaves of that period are rolling in their graves. If they were fortunate enough to even get one.
England banned slavery in 1807. So no, the ton wasnt full of slaves. Put your efforts to help the current slavery problem in Africa rather than worrying so much about history and a stupid tv show.
The British banned the Atlantic slave trade in 1807…the actual capture and transmission of black people to serve on the plantations etc. Slavery itself continued until 1834. After this, former slaves were still slaving as there were hardly any other employment opportunities other than toiling on plantations for meager wages.
News flash - did they say this was based on true story or biography? I mean sci-fi is real you still watch that right? Dc marvels aren’t real you still watch that right ? This show is for entertainment, you guys made cleopatra white when she wasn’t and she is real

I enjoyed the pictures, is there a place where i can download them?
The only problem I have with Bridgertons cast is Michaela. That's the only role where they went too far genderbending, bc it changes the whole story of the 3 characters - Francesca, John and Michael(a) completely, and not to the better.
Totally agree with you. The show runner Jess Brownell said she changed it because she wanted to see herself reflected on screen. 🙄🙄
Anthony was very much like
“ I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too.”
And the previous showrunner kept that that energy.
Simon and Daphne are Fire 🔥 and water 💧
Both in their temperament and personality. He also kept that vibe.
FIRE 🔥 & WATER💧
You were RED♥️➕And you liked me because I was Blue🩵= You touched me and suddenly.
If they wanted a complex nuance character, you had WHISTLEDOWN 🪶🤬
She closed and grossly simplified, Whistledown.
And in 2022 interview (Chris) previous show runner.
And season 3 flattened all of that to go
*"BE ASHAMED BECAUSE YOU SAID MEAN THINGS."*
Grossly simplifying, Penelope’s character is a huge injustice to her.
And it’s ridiculous all the expectations everybody’s expected to live up to and she’s proven more than once you can’t actually be ruined if you’re RICH💰 and BEAUTIFUL 💐
📜Whistledown🪶 is designed to sell 💰itself.
Yeah she’s straight up evil 👿
Penelope is merely recapping, the Grammys the Oscars & the Emmys. All the events that happened ! what took place who was wearing what ! Who’s was best dressed, whose dress she didn’t like & most of those roast are usually directed to herself. “Overripe, citrus fruit “ 🍋 she called her self
These out of touch aristocrats and members of the hierarchy are constantly overreacting and throwing hysteria over absolutely nothing. They are inheritors of generational wealth who’s only purpose is to secure it through arrange marriages and keep repeating the cycle, nothing lady Whistleddown🪶writes is gonna change that, what’s going to happen to them they ’re literally the ruling class so what they have a little scandal it will pass.
In the wise words from our favorite drug 💊 dealer with a heart ♥️ of gold 🥇 -Fezco from (euphoria)- "Sometimes, people need to get their feelings hurt." and should check their privilege
I can think of no other reason (Jess) would do this other than she hates Penelope and she hates Colin and she has no idea why they should be together. Because she didn’t just slap 👋 us in the face, she spat at us and kicked us. In a ditch. 🕳️
There’s clear favoritism I can see that Francesca is her favorite.

THIS! Season 3 becomes everyones season 😭
I was so disappointed in that change. Michael and Francesca's story was one of the ones I looked forward to most. And now they ruined it for me. I hate when Netflix does that. So interesting that the men got married around 30 and the women at 20. I would've liked Colin and Penelope to be older like the book

Colin being the only that’s exactly like in the book and the show oh Colin Bridgeton you will always be famous and loved.
The fact that Penelope considers herself a spinster in the series makes no sense. 19 is young in the Regency era.
@@NyfinessDaphne was on her 3rd year in the book, she wasn't considered spinister back then

Netflix has changed everything, that's so annoying.
The some of the series characters are not the same as described in the books because the creator of the series wanted a more diverse cast to appeal to the global audience. Not historically accurate so it’s mostly fiction but entertaining.

It’s a fictional series…not a documentary!
I love season 3 so much! I don’t really enjoy season 2 tho
Same season 2 I thought dragged and was borning and took to long for them to end up togther and I hated how they treat. Kate sister
@@karengoga2592all of this + the chem felt forced and way to much heavy breathing
The most important difference is that they are all white

tutti i cambiamenti drastici erano molto più belli secondo il libro. Quelli scelti simili sono belli in entrambe le versioni. Questo piega perchè, se si "trae da un libro" bisognerebbe farlo con rispetto per l'autore del libro.
Irl colin is so much better
Comment Section Never Disappoints!!🤣🤣
Colin the most handsome of all the Bridgerton males? Had beautiful piercing GREEN eyes? Both descriptions certainly don't fit the TV version.
In the show Colin is 22 in s3
Why do you think so?🙃
@@ShiverSceneshe says so
Is the narrator of this AI? Sure sounds like it!
OMG So bad?😭
The level of wokeness on this series is very overwhelming
I think there's a lot of people with very high opinions regarding the development of Bridgerton, particularly season 3. I understand. What I don't like is the wishful downfall of the show and the condescending tone from those who dislike the show to those who enjoy it (like myself). It's odd, toxic, and fanbase (stan) culture. It's tired and immature.
It is not immature to be disappointed. And to no longer support the product that’s ruining a story you love
And you can like something without having to have everyone's agreement or approval around you. Social media has ruined people today with needing all that validation. Grow up.
@@user-e.m.m.y okay that’s fine, but the constant dismantling, enough to where one of the leads literally begs for everyone to chill - that’s not okay and immature behavior.
@@terri639 That doesn’t give you the right to totally disregard internet etiquette. Nobody is saying you’re not allowed to be disappointed, but to those taking it to the extreme by being rude to those who like the show/toward the show so much so that one of the leads literally says to everyone to chill out, that’s not okay. So next time you come at someone, take the time to remember your etiquette. Voice your opinions in a respectable, civil manner. In essence, be a grown up.
@@Thatwasianboii First, that's rich coming from someone that started bashing people and calling them immature for disliking the season right off. Had you not taken that attitude and started with name calling then I wouldn't have worded my reply as I did. I just matched your tone so you only have yourself to blame. Furthermore, you then followed it up with some self-rightous shaming. Really hitting all the boxes of how to try to one-up someone online for some internet karma aren't you?
People are allowed to have different opinions than you and having them isn't "rude" or any kind of attack on you. You started out by framing it that way.
💛💛💛💛💛
Nah I’m sorry but they did Colin DIRTY. Luke newton is fine on his own but when they give him the side burns and the styling and he takes on the posh boy character he just gives me such a massive ick
Too much of blackwashing, too much of wokism.
So pretty much...the books are not diverse at all.. just white ...blonde or brunette in a nutshell.
Ye. British aristocracy duh😂
Well, yeah. It’s set in Regency England. English people are white. The show’s casting is ridiculous and nonsensical.
@@racegirlbriar True. 💯
Still prefer the books to the series hands down. Far too many 20th century liberties have been taken on the series that have detracted from the story line. Wont be watching the remainder of the series as it has been a major disappointment overall. Julia Quinn should never have given this book series over to Hollywood to make as they do not have any talent nor skill in pretty much anything these days other than AI enhanced action movies and these too have become very cliche and lame. They destroy adaptions rather than enhancing them.
You do know it was her that made the changes right? 😂😂 you guy’s look like fools complaining about fiction people when the author her self made the changes on the show based on the characters
I think it is criminal when an actual historical person has their race changed as they did with Queen Charlotte
@@rlleo90Queen Charlotte was not fictional, she was a white English queen, not black
@@julieorourke9897 i seen her portrait and her race can definitely be questioned, from her hair and features aside from skin color she does not give me someone who is fully Caucasian, but you know the British royal court won’t tell the truth lol. I find it funny how you have a problem with the queen being a POC instead of having a problem with how they have her portrayed as being obsessed with wistledown and challenging her and gossiping and slouching when she is bored and people being presented to her while sitting like that and how they have her husband like a loose canon
@@julieorourke9897 thats questionable, also she wasn’t in book, but i guess ya know how it feels when you guys take historical figures of POC white wash them
Black people in regency England, plz! And that too dukes and viscounts! Give me a break! As someone who is a fan of regency romances, this show is a travesty. And I am not white. This would be like creating a show in WWII era Germany where the dude is a high-ranking Jew. At least be faithful to the time period.
Exactly and so many people think that it was real too. That the British aristocracy was diverse now because of Bridgerton. It's a mess.
La Daphné de la série est blonde, un blond foncé, elle n'est pas châtain du tout. D'un point de vue coiffeur évidement.
I was disappointed in the turn that Benedict’s character has taken in the series.
Also changing Michael to a woman- why?
I liked the netflix story. Casting different color is okay as to make the whole thing more flavored. I feel like if they cast all white people, like downtown abbey, it is going to be boring/ bland… the differences in color is striking to look at. I just hope they cast more beautiful of color casts. Rege as simon is perfect. Lord kilmartin could be okay since he is gonna die anyway and that it is not a lovematch… but mikaela is not a welcome cast for me. Gender bending of that time is not acceptable thus not acceptable to us viewers too. I hope they just go back to michael. But i guess they are going for impact. And surprise. Well, way to ruin a good franchise. Changing race is OKAY. Gender bending is too much. Like what they did Cleopatra. Thats too much race bending. They irked not only an entire country but history lovers as well
Typical Netflix because they want to put some diversity 🙄
I wish that all characters were like they were described in the books. Is it too much to ask? Also I don't think that hidden from the truth and showing the fantasy world with all races united will do any good. People were fighting against the slavery, what about that heroes? What about children they are going to forget the real history?
This is not a biography show or book, idk why you Caucasians are in a up roar, you guy’s had decades of seeing your selves on the screen stop crying and complaining and give other race time to shine on the screen
@@rlleo90you forgot to twerk after your bad grammar speech.
I am sorry, right from the beginning, the show runners sucked the soul out of the books. Its a bad fan fiction. Although simon m kate actors were brilliant, the story was just a perversion. A sick perversion.
Anyway, stopped watching.
Shonda loves to ruin and tried to be woke pfft
Well I’ve read the books, I’m not surprised in this “ woke” society that the characters are changed, even Queen Charlotte who was a real person is played by someone not of her race. I think it takes away from the stories if you have read the books, and is unlikely in England generations ago.
DIVERSE casting is the standout point of Bridgerton. Otherwise it would have been lost in the sea of regency period dramas.. WHY do you have problem with a Fictional show, with poc actors getting a chance to shine? Author have no problem.. 😔😔
Did you know that "Woke" stands for being kind to one another? Something we all should do.
@@percyweasley9301 , would you want white people to play Africans? You can’t change history, a recent Jayne Eyre movie used black actors to depict Georgian English, it destroyed the authenticity. We don’t need to change a persons race to one historically correct.
@@katelijnesommen Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz wasn't ''mixed race''.
▪︎ She was ethnically German. And she had an ethnic Portuguese ancestor (600 years before Charlotte's birth).
▪︎ Yes, the so called ''moorish'' ancestor was actually white.
▪︎ Madragana Ben Aloandro was an ethnically Portuguese woman, and ''Muladí''.
''Muladís'' were ethnic Iberians that converted to Islam.

So Queen Charlotte was fully white.

Ok
So Simon in the book is a white man??
Noooo
After reading all the books, twice, and enjoying the stories, it was a weird discovery to see most of all the partners change race, name, ages, and description in general. Is not that the actors are not great looking, is that it is Not the characters. In real life, at that era, it is illogical to narrate it like if we are living in this century. Pretending that life was like that, or the books were like this?
But... not my book, not my series.
The casting sucks imo
It looks like they made fun of the book.
The books are mid tho so i will always root for the series
i prefer the books they go too far in the tv show why is it necessary to diverse the cast? are we to do that with jane austen the Bronte sisters? why have we to change our history to suit the woke agenda?
Not everyone was white in regency England. Die mad about it. 😂😂😂😂
@@katherinejordan8018 Well look at My Lady Jane they turned king Edward of England in a black so excuse me for not agreeing with your nonsense argument. Is quit clear they are obsessed to make every royalty black when in truth they were white. This all whitewash is disrespectful
@@katherinejordan8018 In the entire England no. But in the ton yes. Which is of no importance because it is not a documentary but a fiction and the cast is beautifull, diversity included.
There were 20,000 POC living in the UK in Regency times.
Thats why i stick to the novel and never like the series
the show is sm better
…or they’re realists.
people aren't racist for wanting some semblance of realism and book accuracy. Give me a break. It's people like you who've made the term "racist" completely meaningless. If I hear about something supposedly "racist" now, I just automatically assume it's some chronically offended gen z'er playing the victim. Well done.
You crazy?😂
News flash - slavery was real. The 'ton' was full of slave traders. To overlook this fact simply so you can enjoy a mediocre love story set in the 1810s? The slaves of that period are rolling in their graves. If they were fortunate enough to even get one.
England banned slavery in 1807. So no, the ton wasnt full of slaves. Put your efforts to help the current slavery problem in Africa rather than worrying so much about history and a stupid tv show.
There were 20,000 POC living in the UK during Regency times.
Right, i think i forgot that for some ppl poc=slaves 😂
The British banned the Atlantic slave trade in 1807…the actual capture and transmission of black people to serve on the plantations etc. Slavery itself
continued until 1834.
Idk why I didn't like the whole season 2 😭 Kate and her sister was overacting in her scenes.
