Thanks, Tom! Thanks, Shaun! 🎃 I strongly endorse the other recommendation in the comments that ya'll should watch CARRIE (1976)... when ya'll are in the mood for some iconic horror... based on a Stephen King tale, directed by master-of-the-macabre Brian De Palma.

In the UK in the early 80's these films where all rated 'X' for adults only .. no kids would ever be admitted. I remember seeing the posters outside the cinemas and often wondered wht it was like to see a scary film 😀😀
@@whisperinstorytellerASMR I wonder why that was...maybe because of the controversy of The Exorcist, I remember seeing demonstrations in the UK on tv because of the satanic content, I think it also got an X rating there?
@@sixbladeknife44 The Exorcist was a hot potato in UK...very controversial .. and almost banned by the BBFC but was eventually released as an 'X'... .the 'X' rating was routine for any horror film until the mid eighties when the '18' certificate replaced it ... these days modern horror films often get a '15' rating the cinema and an '18' for home video.
A lot of people weirdly love this film and consider it nearly on par with the original which I find incredibly baffling. I don't hate it by any means (Shaun's 5.8 sounds about right for me) but it's just an inferior copy of the first film set in a hospital. Everything the film does the first one did better and by virtue of trying to seem like a continuation, I feel it only makes the flaws more glaring. You guys should definitely do Halloween III at some point and treat it more as its own film rather than a Halloween sequel. An underrated film that I'm glad a lot of people are finally coming around to.
I hope one day that others valid opinions doesn’t seem so alien to you. Took me years to realize I wasn’t a hive mind as well... Well, a couple of hours on shrooms to be correct.
Halloween 3 is truly an underrated film, just sucks that so many people dismiss it because it doesn't have Michael in it. Luckily it has a nice cult following!
Jimmy lives. It's shown in tv alternate ending when he's together with Laurie in ambulance. Jamie Lloyd (last name after father) from Halloween 4, 5 and 6 is their daughter.
I think the boy with the razor in his mouth is based on this incident that happened on Halloween, where people would lace the candy with dangerous things like rat poison, razor blades in candy bars, etc. And parents would check their children's candy after they brought it home to make sure that there wasn't anything dangerous in it. True story
You should watch the Dead series by George Romero (Night of the living dead, which you should have no trouble with copyright for that film since it is in the public domain, than Dawn Of The Dead and finally Day of The Dead. I know there are more in the dead series but I consider those the golden 3)
I still believe the Ben Tramer death is the most over the top death in a horror movie ever. He's just a dude walking and gets ran over and blown up they dont even acknowledge him after this
For me, this is where the franchise should have ended or at least Halloween 4. Even Carpenter wanted to end it with this sequel but you can't keep Myers down. Halloween 2018 was just ok. Halloween 2 will always be the true sequel. 2018 was just H20 mixed with Halloween's greatest hits. I like the idea that it takes place on the same night and the hospital setting was a good choice.
If there's one good thing about this pandemic (if indeed there is), it's the number of amazingly entertaining and talented reactors that have popped up over the past year. Guys like you are gonna become huge

Yes guys! Keep the other horror sequel reviews coming :) Really interesting and cool points addressed. Definitely check out III as it is just totally a different story and what I thought would have been a much better approach with the franchise as an anthology. Regarding the 2018 Halloween film, in my eyes I thought it was the best of the sequels as they actually tried something different and more interesting with the Michael Myers storyline, something to note though is that it follows as a direct sequel to the original and forgets about all the prior entries.
Tom, love, you really need to practice your active listening skills. Let Shaun finish a thought before you pipe up. You step on the end of his sentences all too often.
They messed up in continuity also in that they filmed him falling off a totally different balcony at the front of the house in this sequal and yet in the first film its clearly a different type of balcony situated at the back of the house.
In the original ending, which I believe was shown as part of a televised version, it revealed that Jimmy (last seen in the car on the horn) is alive and well. He's also in the back of the same ambulance that Laurie is put in. There's also a televised version of the original that includes more info on Michael Myers and addition scenes.
Shaun got it right, just a series of different killings with no continuing story. Also, in the early 1980s was a trend where there was a big twist to the original story (Michael & Laurie are siblings). 1980's The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Psycho II also had big reveals in them. 2018 Halloween was better than the 1981 sequel, but the 1978 original was the best of all.
One of the main complaints about Halloween 2 was too much of an assumption that the audience would have seen the 1st Halloween movie and wouldn't need to be dragged into the storyline. They didn't try hard enough to grab the audience's attention in the 2nd movie. I like to watch them back to back. I think it helps compensate for that flaw and keeps the anxiety going.
I watch Halloween and Part 2 as one long movie. I lean toward H2 as my favorite though. I love that it has more Haddonfield as a backdrop, has a more Halloween feel and it moves around with so many characters instead of staying static in one location like the first movie. I love that grainy look of the film as well.
Great reaction guys! I had to laugh at 10.09! I said the exact same thing when I first saw Halloween II! Why would you have a jacuzzi that could reach boiling point!? 🤣
"Or he has a bullet proof vest on, or you missed". Guess you missed the scene where Loomis goes down to where Michael fell and there was a puddle of blood. I love this movie. Couldn't sit through this reaction for very long.
Very sweet of the hospital staff to give Laurie a new hairstyle. Most horrifying scene in this movie is the child with a razor blade in his mouth. I did like how Laurie was like “ef it, I give up” when Michael walks through that fire at the end. I liked the original more than you guys, and this is a guilty pleasure.
Also fun fact, the director of this movie, Rick Rosenthal, actually had directed the film to follow the same type of suspenseful, low-gore approach that Carpenter took with the first one, but it was actually Carpenter who went in and did reshoots of certain scenes, like the death scenes to add gore, because he wanted it to be more alike the other slashers coming out at the time.
Carpenter admitted years later that the reason he added the brother-sister element was that it was very late at night, he'd had a six-pack of beers and couldn't think of anything else.
And it worked in my opinion because I like the storyline never had a problem with it 2018 took that away and I hated it

@@aweaver6895 yeah it a difficult time for us both losing fathers we both going through the grief period, so sorry hear your loss.
I remember hiring this from local video store then one day it missing they'd only had it down as part of the video nasty cull in 80s all because of the burning pumpkin skull apparently it was deemed a video nasty, you couldn't get it for a while.
Thankfully common sense resumed.
Sean & Tom are hilarious there reactions are hilarious.
Jamie Lee Curtis was 21 or 22 when this movie was filmed, not 35.
they’re disrespectful lmao
In the 70's and 80's, young adults looked much older than they do know. So you get these 30 year olds watching older movies and assuming that the actors were 5-10 years older than they actually were.
The wig is so bad it does make her look older
She looks 30 in the first film and i think its because of the way they dress her
I find it interesting that Laurie and a handful of babies are the only patients, and with all of the screaming and yelling no one noticed.
Donald Pleasance was great in these movies. Dr. Samuel Loomis is my favourite horror movie protagonist.
If you like empty hospital halls and horror you should see 'VISITING HOURS' from 1982 ;)
Still never understood why that hospital was virtually empty for most of the movie lmao. It was like they not only don’t have patients who are staying overnight (besides Laurie) but also no decent size PM or Noc Shift staff!!
Since I used to work as a security guard I have to defend them since the hardest part of your job is not to fall asleep while you're on duty.
I was a security guard too and there was several times I fell asleep. I got caught twice. Once I didn't respond on my walkie talkie during roll call and the other the store owner caught me sleeping in a recliner at his outdoor furniture summer sale.
"I hate empty hospital corridors"
Exorcist 3 when?!
Haha, I know exactly the scene. Just so unexpected, snip! 💀
I saw this in the theatre when I was 13, I couldn’t sleep for a year after 😱
In the UK in the early 80's these films where all rated 'X' for adults only .. no kids would ever be admitted.
This was originally the proper ending to the franchise until everyone wanted a sequal
@@angellopez3202 I think it's turning around now, actually. Lots of people reevaluating it or discovering it for the first time without bias.
Jimmy lives. It's shown in tv alternate ending when he's together with Laurie in ambulance. Jamie Lloyd (last name after father) from Halloween 4, 5 and 6 is their daughter.
I thought Jamie was Laurie's niece?
@@d3l3tes00n No, Jamie is Laurie's daughter in the 4,5 and 6 continuity. The Halloween series unfortunately has several different timelines.
@@alucard624 Ohhh wait, she'd be his niece. My bad.
@@d3l3tes00n No, she's her daughter. Btw, the Alice scene is replacement for scene with Tommy and Lindsey that was deteled.
@@Shilohpreston He’s right Jamie is Michael’s niece in the 4, 5, and 6 timeline
Been waiting for the reaction.
I think the boy with the razor in his mouth is based on this incident that happened on Halloween, where people would lace the candy with dangerous things like rat poison, razor blades in candy bars, etc. And parents would check their children's candy after they brought it home to make sure that there wasn't anything dangerous in it. True story
The third is my favorite, besides first.
Great reaction as always!
The 2018 is so much better. People like this one cause nostalgia but 2018 ignores this one and starts 40 years after the original. It's AMAZING!!
You should watch the Dead series by George Romero (Night of the living dead, which you should have no trouble with copyright for that film since it is in the public domain, than Dawn Of The Dead and finally Day of The Dead. I know there are more in the dead series but I consider those the golden 3)
I don't think Day of the Dead is essential. Just watch Night and Dawn, then Return to finish.
I still believe the Ben Tramer death is the most over the top death in a horror movie ever. He's just a dude walking and gets ran over and blown up they dont even acknowledge him after this
"How does she know he's there?"
Object of Obessession
THANK YOU! Thank you for noticing that! My biggest complaint about this sequel is where EXACTLY Michael falls/lands!
Love Halloween 2 👍🏻🎃🎃
Keep these coming guys. Great content, I'm really enjoying watching.
Great reaction, looking forward to the Halloween 2018 one. Halloween 4 is also a great film to watch.
I think 5 is better.
Laurie didn't want to be put to sleep because she would be defense less against Micheal if she was drugged
The crazy thing is he didn’t die after this lol he was just in a coma
Yeah starting with part 4 is when things just get wonky lol
For me, this is where the franchise should have ended or at least Halloween 4. Even Carpenter wanted to end it with this sequel but you can't keep Myers down. Halloween 2018 was just ok. Halloween 2 will always be the true sequel. 2018 was just H20 mixed with Halloween's greatest hits. I like the idea that it takes place on the same night and the hospital setting was a good choice.
The new one is pretty good 👍 maybe give it a go
Yeah 2018 is highly overrated
I don’t think that carpenter even wanted to do this one....contractual obligation
@@gacjpc7157 I'm glad it was made though
@@gacjpc7157 Yeah and he made sure that Myers was dead this time but that didn't stop it.
I'll never get over Michael just walking clean through that glass door.
Did that when I was 5. 😮
Jamie Lee curtis wig is so distracting in this lol. I had the vhs with part one and two on it many years ago
If there's one good thing about this pandemic (if indeed there is), it's the number of amazingly entertaining and talented reactors that have popped up over the past year.
Guys like you are gonna become huge
You guys are very handsome and I love your guys movie review have a blessed day . Keeper coming!!! Excellent job guys
"the aragorn trick. The fellowship of the ring trick" Perfect, thank you.😂
H20 is great, if you don’t want to watch all the sequels, you can jump forward to that one.
No.
Like I told another person reacting to this movie. Ben Tramer who Annie was setting up with Laurie in the first movie was the one killed by police car in beginning of this one.
In a world full of sequels, be a Halloween 3! LOL
This was my first horror movie... I was 6 when my dad let me watch it and it terrified me!!!!!! So even though everything you commented on is on point this will always be my introduction to horror my first... You never forget your first!
Love this and the first one, I really like how it directly follows on. I even like the third one but not really a fan of the others. Although H2O is kind of fun. Lol
I SHOT HIM 6 TIMES!
Lol 😂 SIX TIMES!
Halloween 1, 2, and H2O are what I considered the true Halloween trilogy for the Laurie and Michael Myers brother and sister dynamic arc.
@@Mangolite Agreed, I like Halloween 3, for the dark story it is, even though It's not Michael Myers
The Changeling , with George C. Scott. A must see classic ghost story. Cheers from Nashville - Joey
If you're watching sequels then try "Exorcist 3"
When the police came into Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment, that film was playing on his VCR.
Definitely this! Skip the second one though 😅 The exorcist 3 is so creepy, on par with the first for me for sure
TRUE one of the best horror movies of all time
Man, if you think that's the coldest nurse ever you haven't seen One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...
I'm so exited for this ❤️
I’ve always noticed that Michael walks backwards off of the balcony rail. Doesn’t make sense. It happens in 1 too
They messed up in continuity also in that they filmed him falling off a totally different balcony at the front of the house in this sequal and yet in the first film its clearly a different type of balcony situated at the back of the house.
The 2018 sequel is better but this one's pretty good as well 👍 👍
In the original ending, which I believe was shown as part of a televised version, it revealed that Jimmy (last seen in the car on the horn) is alive and well. He's also in the back of the same ambulance that Laurie is put in. There's also a televised version of the original that includes more info on Michael Myers and addition scenes.
if you want something different watch the remake of the original
You mean the Rob Zombie remake?
Shaun got it right, just a series of different killings with no continuing story.
Also, in the early 1980s was a trend where there was a big twist to the original story (Michael & Laurie are siblings). 1980's The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Psycho II also had big reveals in them.
2018 Halloween was better than the 1981 sequel, but the 1978 original was the best of all.
I know this is controversial but l like Halloween 2 more than Halloween 1..... l know one is a classic and all but 2 is definitely my favorite 😌
You guys are the best reaction channel on RUclips. Funny, smart, great chemistry. Love your videos!
I love this film easily the best halloween sequel
Caressing a bonsai and looking at the camera.
Now, that's a mood.
A bit of trivia, the woman talking on the other end of the phone to Alice is Nancy Loomis. She played Annie, the Sheriff’s daughter.
Halloween 2018 is just a much better sequel.
After this film they should of kept with the Anthology idea like Halloween lll.
Watching these 2 plus H20 is a thrill ride. Especially the last half of H20. What a showdown!!
ALL THE LOVE just from the Goosebumps reference ALONE lol!!! Been waiting for this one since your initial Halloween reaction!!! :D :D
