That demon was powerful and agile on its own merit but had also stolen many guardian angels as well as the charmed ones so they were vunrable. Having the guardian angels of the charmed ones was even more powerful and gave the demon a power boost hence they were killed easily due to no grand protection...
I'm not sure, I think that it was because they used the the most powerful potion that they had ever used, other than that I'm not really sure maybe it was just because the show wanted to kill Barbas off in different ways ?????
