@@yisyerry I made my cold air. Recipe: buy a used license plate filler, trim out the center and epoxy in stainless wire mesh. Spray flat black. Use a Vararam bridge. Install K&N (or round filter of your choice, go as long as you can.) I added aero “fences” also and made an open top box for the filter to sit in, isolating the filter from the engine compartment with the hood closed. I used clear Lexan sheet and trimmed it to bend out towards the fenders and gather all the air from the license plate area to “funnel” it into the filter. Kinda hard to describe without a pic. I spent roughly $120 including the filter in all and it makes a big difference when the weather cools down and the speeds go up, I promise! 😎
I was in the same boat about a year ago. Just really lock in and put some cash to the side and itll happen. Good luck with your searching 🙏🏼. Its been a while since ive posted this video and i been tryna get some content for the channel but hopefully ill have some to post this weekend. Thanks for the sub 🤝
Welcome to the club man, beautiful c5 I have a c6 and I’m jealous of how good that looks. One recommendation from me looks wise is paint the mirrors black or get the carbon fiber overlay for them. Would look incredible! Have fun driving that thing man.
Great choice. I own a 6 speed Torch Red '99 Coupe, with the same interior as yours. Just hit 46k miles. The anti-venom mod worked perfect. Safe travels and just subscribed!
These cars are the biggest bargains in the car world right now. I picked up mine right before covid for $14,700. It had 75k on it then. I've fixed a few things like the actuators and the seat rock. Changed the cam, tires, anti-sway bars. Nice wheels!
@@yisyerry ep. I've done a bunch of stuff like for instance I put additional seat bladders into the original seats making them grip me tighter. Changing the actuators in the middle of the dash wasn't really that bad. You can't have the pass side blowing hot when you have the A/c on! I have subscribed so I'll be following your build. Jim
Lots of autos out there. Pretty easy to see what vettes have been maintained and which ones have been abused. Huge price gap on them too from what I’ve seen a base C5 can go anywhere from 8-~23k. Also depends if you buy privately or from a dealer. Good luck with your purchase tho. 💪
I like that you literally showed the car the whole time, while going over everything. Pretty much ever single person just yaps while showing themselves for 75% of the video drives me crazy. Nice car, I’m in the market for one and was wondering what did you pay for it?
Thanks for the input I appreciate that. 🤝😂 and tbh you can find these things as low as 8-10k but usually will require work and be higher mileage and probably even salvage title. Mine is a super clean low mileage, its loaded and has a manual. Usually these options tend to make these C5 more expensive. Id look around to see what options you want and find which will be right for you. As for my car I paid in the 20’s. So it shouldnt be too crazy finding one in your budget but finding one with the exact options you want is the challenge. Took me 2 years of off and on searching. Ill be sure to cover this stuff in my next video as well. Thanks for stopping by.
@@yisyerry appreciate the info and that’s what I figured. Same prices as where I’m located as well, personally looking for a clean low miles with a stick. So I figured high teens low twenties for one. I know the 01-04 years are the more desirable ones so I’ve been keeping an eye out for those, but wouldn’t be a deal breaker for an earlier model as well.
@@Broweanyeah you shouldnt have too hard of a time then really. But definitely good to have patience for these kinds of things. And yeah 01-04 are definitely more desirable. Personally i would try sticking with these years or even 02-04. Only because issues that earlier models have had are pretty much fixed. And i believe anything pre-2000 has a different type of smog as well. Good luck with finding your C5 👍
Nice, you almost never see the verts in manual. And i believe its all factory sizing for wheels and tires. Idk the exact specs of the wheels as they were already on the car.
@@yisyerry I have the same paint set up and smoked out side and taillights… I just have a black spoiler and a black zr1 lip on the front. I also have my exhaust painted black
@yisyerry yeah same but C1 and C8's are not ugly though... they just look different. C1 just looks like a classic car, which is fine. C2 looks great also, but C3 is when they implemented that "corvette" body and styling that you can see all the way to the C8.
I forgot to get into why I chose to buy a C5. I’ll be sure to make a separate video on this topic. 🤙
I was going to buy a C6 Z06 and then my car crossed my path. I couldn't pass it up. Now it has 400 to the tire and passes just about everything!
I was looking at a C6 GS LS3. Ultimately went with a C5 tho. But yeah im going to be making big power in the C5 eventually. 😂
Welcome to the Vette family! Keep the vids coming!
Haha thank you. Lots in store and lots of videos to come forsure. 🫡 by the way, where did you get your front license plate vent mod from?

Manuals RULE!!
Lol yeah I had to have a manual. Instant deal breaker for me.
Nice video man, can’t wait to see the progress you make on it. I’ll definitely be following you along this journey!🔥
Appreciate that. This only the beginning. Like I said in due time this car will be a lot different. 🤝‼️

Thank you and what C6 do you have? But yeah I never thought about that. That might look cool but we shall see. 😂🫡
Beautiful car! Nice to see one that’s taken care of. Save the manuals!
Thank you! 🤝

Nice 😎 but yeah the anti venom mod is really nice. Really changed the feel of my shifter. Safe travels as well. Thank you for the Sub. 💪
i was thinking of trying to get one, but I'll love to watch to see if I really wanna get one I'll stay tuned 👍
Cant beat the performance for the dollar but thank you for stopping by. I will hopefully be uploading by next weekend.
thats a clean looking c5.... ive had a c7 since march and the miles really do stack up when its so hard to not drive it because of how fun
Yeah them miles start adding up fr 😂 but yeah theyre definitely fun to drive. Congrats on the C7 tho 🤝
Looking good man!!!
Appreciate that 🤝
Damn this is the exact car I want
You’ll get it just keep your mind focused on it. I was looking for 2 years off and on. Patience and finding the best deal you can. 🤝
Let’s go!! 💪🏽

Crazy good bargains, and not too hard to maintain em. Also these things sound nice when cammed. Thank you 🤝

Cool thanks for your sub. And I never heard of the seat bladder thing. Pretty interesting. Ima look that up.
Super clean. Looking for an automatic like this one, with black interior.

I love the c5 and I’m trying to buy one for myself, and I was wondering how much you bought yours for and from where? Love the car man looks sick
Check the comments and replies. I actually went over this briefly. But basically anywhere from $8k-$25k basically. Just depends.
Take it for a spin! POV
Plenty of those coming 100% 💪😎
POV video up. Didnt come out quite how I wanted but more of them to come fasho. 🤝
I enjoy using my 2001 C5 as daily.
Great daily-able cars forsure
C5 🔥❤️
Love it!
Thanks 🤝
I have the exact same car!
Lol nice. What are your goals with it?
hell yeah bro
Preciate the support ‼️

Nice car we have an 04 C5 modded
Nice 😎 whats done to it so far?
My girl looks exactly the same
Nice, I wasn’t going for a bright red car when I got it but its grew on me since owning it.

Sounds like a clean setup. Ima be getting more visual mods. Just getting started 😎
I followed. I need one
Thank for the sub. Theyre definitely hard to beat for the price. Get a lil bit of everything.
C5 and C1 are probably my least favorite looking corvettes, but slowly warming back up to C5's... your red C5 looks AMAZING.
Thank you its gon be sick when im done with it. I like C3-C7 vette’s the most. The rest are eh imo.
