    In the past video about new slicers and images I tried to insert some images with OneDrive and Sharepoint and it was frustrating, however after all that effort I have to use a Dropbox link like you in that past video and have trouble with the explorer I use Firefox but everything works just fine with the report and users with chrome or edge, in our organization we use O365 and open links are disabled so after all those things you show I think use Dropbox it’s easier. Great videos as usual.

    Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I wonder why Microsoft is making some things that should be simple so uneasy to work with. It's so great you share this and show how to do it but come on it should be one of the built-in feature to embed images in PowerBI report especially from OneDrive or Sharepoint as this is same ecosystem. Hope it is gonna be easier in the future.

I would love to figure out a way to be able to use one drive or sharepoint. Seems odd that PowerBI service which is also part my tenant can't use links shared to everyone in the tenant.

    Hi Bas, I'm a huge fan of your work. Your teachings have made me improve so much at Power BI, I can't thank you enough.
    I have come across a little challenge; I need to highlight with a different color the bar column according to what is selected in the date slicer. The problem is that when you use the slicer, the bar chart will only show that selected bar, whereas I still want to show all bars, and at the same time, I want the slicer to have a normal interaction with the other visuals in the page. I've seen a solution where you have to create another date table that's not connected to any other table in the relational model but that is no solution at all since I want the slicer to still have interaction with other visuals. Do you know a way to achieve my goal?

      for simple images that could work (ruclips.net/video/dPR46gEADBU/видео.html) ... With images like in the video you would go over the 32k char limit so it would become a bit clunky as you would have to store the base64 code over multiple rows

    Hello, thanks for sharing this. I got two questions.
    1) Is there any way that we can get all the onedrive share links at once, instead of getting the link from each file?
    2) Also, is there any workaround for sharing option without "Anyone"? My organisation got that disabled.
    Thankss!

    • @HowtoPowerBI
      @HowtoPowerBI  2 месяца назад

      1. in power automate you can create a flow that copies the onedrive image sharelink and adds a row to an excel file
      2. no, i dont think so - as an altnerative you could consider an azure blob container ->
      In Azure you can create a blob storage, where you set the access level of the blob to anonymous read access so that the links to the images inside of a blob can be publicly accessed. This method has the advantage that the URLs to different images follow the same path with only the image name changing. That makes it waaay easier in situations where you have to deal with many images. The downside is that you would need to have access to a cloud platform like Azure or your website server, which is not always practical.
