Ever since I started implementing your visualization ideas and technique, my boss has been really happy with the visualizations I create, Man I cant thank you enough.
You have video or can point me towards visual used for the sales performance bars bubbles @19:12 they are so slick! Perfect for something I am working on.
Game changer lessons for me on the custom JSON file. This is amazingly helpful. Already implemented my first custom JSON with all of my normal standards. This is so great. THANK YOU!
I use the Power BI Sidetools extension. It creates a folder structure for the pbix with all the table definitions, measures, and a layout model/bim. Saving measures to github would be as easy as using the extensions "save to visual studio code" button, then doing a git push on the existing folder.
The great thing is this makes every visual and data model change readable. If you are regularly committing these changes to git, you can easily revert, mix and match, or reuse without even opening PBI Desktop. Once you've made your changes in Visual Studio Code, there's an option to save the changes back to the pbix file.
I just started following your channel. The content is thought out and explained in a way which is concise and easy to understand. I appreciate your going a bit deeper into the more challenging content as well.
Pls suggest an good datenpicker visual with date formatting, easy range selection with calender view. Powviz date picker is not working in my published report, says it cant work in the environment
Great video as usual. I love your video’s and use a lot of your ideas. This video is an eyeopener. I allready wanted to do something with JSON files but now I know where to start. And your tips about add-ins and Github…. I’d love to get started with. Thanks a lot.
Great tips - Thanks! I see @4:29 the AboveAvg measure and the MinMax before it uses a calculate function wrapped around the [Total Sales] measure. I thought a measure reference had an implicit calculate. I am still struggling with DAX, so could you explain why this is the case?
Yes, correct :) you don't have to put the calculate around a measure (was from a different example file) - a lot of people would take the file and then write sum(salescolumn) instead of a measure and then it wouldn't work.. that's why I left the calculate there
Hi Bas, thanks a lot for your amazing videos, they’ve been really helpful! I have a question: How can I change the background color in Focus mode for visuals in Power BI?
Noted! I’ll start to looking for the right external tool to be added to my power bi🤗 Thanks a bunch for your awesome recommendation! I really need to save more time in the process 😅
Hi Bas, Thanks for the video, I follow your videos for my learning. I've a question - how do you get Data, Visualization, Format, Bookmarks as buttons on the right side of the screen?
Hello buddy. I tried to find the file content associated to the video but there are too many links and registration to your IO website only lead to links pointing to the RUclips videos for this particular one. Any clues on the PBI file you copied the MinMax dax from etc ? thanks
Thank you for the awesome tips Bas! However, I'm having difficulty installing MSHGQM, I'm running Windows 11 and I keep getting the error "This Installation package could not be opened" Can you perhaps guide me on how to install it please?
its nice, but just another tool :) .. whatever you feel comfortable with and let's you create the design you have in mind.. for many people powerpoint is enough
Can you do a video on how to filter one field parameter slicer based on a different parameter field slicer? For instance, if my first parameter field contains Program, Teacher, Student and I select Program, I only want my second parameter field slicer to return Teacher and Student. The idea here is to allow users to determine the breakdown in a matrix. For example: See averages based on Program then Student or see averages based on student then program. I've searched and searched trying to figure out how this can be done. Thank you.
@@HowtoPowerBI sorry when we use a line chart, it shows values only for each field item. I want an additional line showing totals. I dont want to use stacked area charts
the calculate is not necessary .. but often people would copy the code they see as in the file / video and then replace the measure with SUM(sales[amount])) , which doesnt invoke context transition and would need a calculate around it

Perhaps it's my level of development as a Power BI person, but this sort of video is extremely valuable to me, thank you.

What an amazing video!! I especially loved the first part, since I’m just now getting to where I keep using the same measures over and over!
Especially awesome after some time when you have a whole treasury of useful code templates ;)
Excellent video, thank you!
Thx Chris ☺️

Thx for idea!!💡 yes maybe 🤔 will think about it
Great Hacks, Bas!
Thank You very much for another helpful video
Glad you like them! 😁😁
Is it possible to set the default number of decimals for all values in the report anywhere? I mean, not for only one visual but for all?
you're absolutely great, many thanks to you
So nice of you, thank you!
Cam you please make a video on testing the reports after development using automation
thanks for the idea! :) will think about it
Is there a website wherein readymade python codes are available and is tere a website where such codes can be sold?

Hi Bas. What are your thoughts on using figma with PowerBi - in terms of design and UI?
its nice, but just another tool :) .. whatever you feel comfortable with and let's you create the design you have in mind.. for many people powerpoint is enough
What is 'QuarterNo' in the dax measure for MaxMin. Can you share the formula ?
that's the sortby column for quarter name (if you use all / allselected you need to put in the sortby column as well)
This is amazing, saves me a lot of time in development, many thanks Bas!
Definitely does for me , if u share ur code / design assets with team members you save even more time

How can w have a dynamix totals linenin line chart appart from individual line for each legend
don't understand the question, sry
@@HowtoPowerBI sorry when we use a line chart, it shows values only for each field item. I want an additional line showing totals. I dont want to use stacked area charts
Very first measure you copied... MaxMin. Why did you put CALCULATE([Total Sales])??? Why is there a CALCULATE wrapping a measure?
the calculate is not necessary .. but often people would copy the code they see as in the file / video and then replace the measure with SUM(sales[amount])) , which doesnt invoke context transition and would need a calculate around it
