THANK YOU!!!!! So at first I wasn’t able to connect anything because both of my controllers were connected to my phone at first and I wasn’t able to revert them back in any way possible and none of these methods seemed to work for me. I was looking through the comments because I was like surely I’m not the only one having this issue and so I seen a comment saying that even though my controller lights up when I put the usb in it doesn’t mean it’s able to pair it back. Ok soooo I found another usb cable that’s actually able to pair them and charge them, so glad I was able to find this cable because I was going to have to get new controllers! So thanks for this video because without coming to this video I wouldn’t have found the comments and without the comments no paired controllers. Smh thanks so much ❤️
My controller has no issue connecting whether it's through bluetooth or USB (I have many cables that work just fine), my problem is that if I pair the controller to anything (PS4, PC, smartphone) and turn it off, after 5 seconds it'll brick up for over a minute, then it works again but it'll forget the last paired device. While connected it has no issues, hell I once played for 5 hours straight and didn't disconnect once or anything. I mainly play on PC, though, where it's particularly tedious to pair a bluetooth device if I have to do it every single time I want to use it, so I don't feel like using it at all if it has that issue, and I don't want to use it wired all the time either (I'm kind of fed up with wired controllers in general after having used them my whole life). My biggest annoyance with this whole thing is that I replaced the stock analog modules with hall effect analog modules over half a year ago, so just replacing the whole controller is even more difficult for me. Of course, I could just desolder those analog modules and use them with a different controller (theoretically they should work not only with PS4 controllers but also Xbox One and Series controllers since they have the same resistance) but, why do I have to do any of that!? Oh well, in the meantime I still have my trusty DualShock 3, which has never failed me.
That's so weird! Might be a motherboard issue. Is it possible you may have damaged the motherboard when soldering? Even a stray spark of static electricity can cause a short, or so I've heard.
@@Scrob I don't think so, I hadn't opened the controller in months when it happened. Looking around, it seems to be an incredibly rare issue, but it's happened to other people who, as far as I know, never opened up and modded their controllers like I did, so it seems to be unrelated to anything I could've done to the board, plus it's the cleanest desoldering work I've ever done, so I'm sure I wasn't careless, and I further cleaned the board several times since this issue started. I've heard of at least one account of someone who claims their controller "decided to fix itself one day". When I got the issue, I was binging the main three Batman Arkham games and was 3/4s of the way into Knight's campaign (did a 120% run, which took me almost 60 hours in total), and my play sessions would sometimes last up to 5 hours. Maybe my controller hated being used so much in so little time, but then again, my friends use their controllers way more than I do and they never got that issue. Currently it's inside a drawer with its battery completely discharged. Besides that one guy who claims his controller fixed itself, I've also heard of flat TVs that wouldn't turn on or show any image, that remained unused for over a year and suddenly worked again just fine. Maybe if I don't use it for a while it'll "fix itself" eventually.
Absolute life saver all I needed was a different cable both could charge but only one would connect sounds so simple but I wouldn’t of thought to do it
Thank you! I used 2 different cables that didn’t work. After using 2 cables I thought it was something else, because this has worked for me in the past with no issues. After I watched this, I looked around for a quality cable and it worked! This relieved a ton of frustration! You are the man!
Finally goty remote to work, thanks method that worked was reset remote turn system all the way off then leave it plug in for a while the here I go back on...thanks a whole lot. 😊
to anyone who has tried all of these and none has worked: the normal cables that are like 1$ are not capable of actually connecting the controller but instead only charging . you would either need to buy one that can connect or a trick that i used was used the one in my Amazon Fire Stick.
FYI, I had a cable that would light up gold (charging) but wouldn't connect, so I had to swap a couple to find one that it would then connect after a reset.
Can someone help my controller only connects when I plug the charger in the controller but it shows a question mark where it says the 3 bars of it charging what do I do
I've never heard of that. Have you tried fully powering your console off and then restarting it? That might refresh the device list so it shows up properly.

If you shut off working controller and use tv remote to control ps4 the error message no longer appears, and it connects the controller! Was referred from another video but sadly still no joy. My USB cable charges the controller and I see the orange light but it just doesn’t connect when I press the ps button. Even in safe mode. Not sure what to do
It's not the end of the world if you remove it, but if that's your only controller that's connecting, then that means you're going to have to connect using a different method (usually a cord)
When he said gather up all the cables you have and try them one by one, the first one i grabbed worked immediately 😭 i never thought it would be a cable problem for me
Hey can you help me i try pairing in safe mode and it’s all good i put in working usb the yellow light turns on and then white blinking starts and then it says press ps button and when i press it nothing happens like the button doesnt work
So you might want to try seeing if it will pair via Bluetooth to a different device like a tablet or phone. If it pairs to that device and stays connected, but won't pair to your playstation, then that probably means the Bluetooth antenna inside the console is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.
So I was trying to connect the dualshock to my laptop to play a game with a friend. Unfortunately, I was forced to unplug the ps4 because it was repeatedly turning it on whenever I tried to connect it to the laptop. When I was done, I plugged the ps4 back in, and tried to reconnect my controller. Now, even when I use an usb cable (that works) on either of the two ports, it refuses to find my ps4 and connect it, so i cant press okay and even start up the ps4. I have the "The PS4 was not turned off properly." screen. What do I do in this situation?
I watched so many videos until I got to you. I thought I was not gonna be able to reconnect my controller and take it to the police station canter Until I started using the motion VR controller, and I finally got connected. Thank you so much.

I'm getting the orange light in safe mode and normal mode but it still won't connect in either. The blue light just flashes
Was referred from another video but sadly still no joy. My USB cable charges the controller and I see the orange light but it just doesn’t connect when I press the ps button. Even in safe mode. Not sure what to do
Does it connect to other devices, like phones/tablets?
At 6:00 when u say you're gonna be screwed if you do, why?
It's not the end of the world if you remove it, but if that's your only controller that's connecting, then that means you're going to have to connect using a different method (usually a cord)
@Scrob thanks I finally got it working, your content is A1

When he said gather up all the cables you have and try them one by one, the first one i grabbed worked immediately 😭 i never thought it would be a cable problem for me
Awesome! Congrats!
@@cameronharrington6813 did you try to put the PlayStation in safe mode and connect it using the cable?
Thanks g I was about to buy a new one and saw this

I watched so many videos until I got to you. I thought I was not gonna be able to reconnect my controller and take it to the police station canter Until I started using the motion VR controller, and I finally got connected. Thank you so much.
