I have a photo of my son when he was about 3 standing next to the gate in your opening shot of this video . He is now 30. Back in the 90s I was part of a small group who used to go out and clear some of these lanes . They were a lot more overgrown than they are now .
A bit further along that lane the local farmer used to have a cattle feeder right in the middle of the lane , forcing us to drive around it . He eventually moved it , but the cattle had churned the ground around it so much that it was a quagmire. It took quite a bit of effort to get through in my 86” Series One . No winch, no diff lockers , just a high lift jack. Ah, those were the days.

Awesome greenlanes! something to be jalous of! Everything in the Netherlands is paved or private :( Planning a green lane adventure in the UK next summer i bet it will be fun and i hope to meet like minded people such as us🤟

Air down your tyres. It's like a cheat code! Helps loads with traction.

All I can say is you need to teach the 52 eg td5 how to drive. Up the last incline, it was not good.

Driving the lanes uphill like this, and therefore damaging them, is totally unsustainable. Wildly spinning tyres, revving hard on the limiter, quickly break up the lane surface. Rainwater then washes out the loose fine material so the ruts just get deeper. Eventually the ruts get so deep that the lane becomes undrivable.
Far more driving skill is needed (some appallingly poor driving filmed here). The majority of UK offroaders also need to dig much deeper into their pockets and install difflockers on either the back axle or preferably on both axles. The factory Land Rover CDL with open diffs is just crap.
An E-locker can be bought for

Thanks for your concern David. The black discover is triple locked and the 110 has a rear locker cdl and front atb however the silver truck does have open diffs, in our defence that lane is like ice and it requires a bit of momentum to climb it, if you noticed in the first part of the video when we come down the first lane we decided NOT to attempt going back up because of the damage it may of caused. The trouble here is people are only quick to comment when they see something bad or something they don't agree with but what they don't do is comment when we do good by reopening over grown lanes or by how much time we spend cutting back the under growth. Anyway I hope your having a fantastic day.

Driving was fine, some things could be said but they handled it with care and savety which is leading and for the rest they need is a bit of experience. But also don't be fooled by the camera view of the terain, sometimes they just have to paddle thier way up by molesting that gas padle. For me this just looks like a fun day out, and a sad day for david williams stressing on the internet. Have a great day non the less.

Decent lanes but silver d2 needs to learn how to drive watching that trying to get up the last lane was painful 😂

What is the point of this? Why can't you just go to a gravel pits like we do on trail bikes and you won't fuck up the country side 🎉

I live about 6 miles from Clun and have a byway at the end of my lane . On numerous occasions I have had convoys of anything up to 10 trail riders go passed my house en route from Clun to use this byway . They are bloody noisy and drive too fast down my lane . Do not try to imply they only use gravel pits as that is complete bollox .
I also have numerous off roaders go passed as well in much smaller groups . They are a lot less noisy.
