      @@HaisteComputerRepair thank you. I want to get a mini PC for my girlfriend and install either OpenElec or OSMC so she can connect her external drives that are filled with movies that I ripped. If it haven't 4k at 20hz over HDMI, then it'll output a solid 1080p60hz without much issue, right? Also if I got a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle, would that circumvent the HDMI 4k limitation?

    • @HaisteComputerRepair
      @HaisteComputerRepair  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@WrappedInPlasticine An adapter theoretically will do this, yes. You will have to make sure you read the specifications and product reviews to make sure you get the right one. 4K at 20Hz may not be that bad, though. Could be worth a try. Might be better than scaling down to 1080p on a 4K TV.

    Hello! Thanks for the insightful review. I'm looking into options for a relatively inexpensive client so I can play Steam games in my living room hosted on my PC in my home office, as well as maybe some streaming services like Netflix/Hulu. Do you think this would be a decent option? I appreciate any insight you might have - hardware isn't my strong suit

    • @HaisteComputerRepair
      @HaisteComputerRepair  4 месяца назад +1

      Streaming Netflix, no problem. Running games, you are limited as this does not have a way to install a graphics card nor does it have a "dedicated GPU" like a gaming laptop or workstation laptop. If you want something small, you are better off looking up a SFF Lenovo ThinkCentre and installing a low profile graphics card. i7-7700T is the top listed in product specifications. You will have the advantage of 4 cores and 8 threads, though remember the "T" series of CPU's are designed for lower power draw. So if you are looking for something higher end it might be better to consider full size desktop options.
