I enjoyed your minus 14, especially since it's 30C plus temps where I live (SE Queensland Australia). The hot springs looked wonderful warming too. What a shame you ran out of propane. I believe the location where the Donner party settled eventually became a town that is now Donner party themed much like Salem is witch trial themed for that tourist $. Tragedy + time = money. Ask a mortician did a really good video about the Donner party and mentioned the cannibal themed town.

I am familiar with snow and cold because I grew up in the “ Lake effect snow” area of Upstate NY near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario where 2 ft of snow was common overnight. BTW GO BILLS! I never knew about hot springs in freezing temperatures before this channel. Thats gotta be one of the weirdest things ive ever seen. And it looks so fun! If you wouldve camped for the night in your van next to those abandoned shacks, that wouldve been pretty scary, im not gonna lie🥺

I know where Elko, Nevada is. I went to school from 3rd grade up to 8th grade. I miss the snow. I live in Texas now. I hate the summers here!!! Hopefully, one day retire to my hometown of Winnemucca , Nevada!!!! Have fun traveling in your van!!!

It would be cool to see you do a trip through south Oregon to 101 to so cal. Specifically camping in the Jediah state redwood park where Star Wars was filmed and where within 50ish miles south to where the tallest tree on earth is. And hitting fortuna for the fresh pressed cider and Acadia for the local dairy ice cream. Eureka for the Indian food.

Those hot springs coming from valley our subsurface magma heats ground water creating steam and hot water. Hot and hotter or less dense water rises through fissures and cracks in the ground . When it reaches surface it makes geysers ,fumaroles , hot springs, mud pits are created. Some hot springs you can swim in and their is some not. I wouldn’t want to be out their by myself . It’s beautiful place valley and hollers looks so peaceful .Boot loggers make moonshine in those places.Happen Thanksgiving to you to. I’m interested in it all .
