@ the majority of American dispatchers are a joke. really. I wonder how long their training takes because almost every single 911 video I watch with dispatchers, they are incredibly unable to do their work properly. It’s so frustrating since they can make or break a case. This is one of the most frustrating examples or the one where the woman drowned alone in her car.

As an emergency medical dispatcher, that would be great in situations where people are in danger making a call like this - but we actually get a huge amount of information from the person’s demeanour, tone of voice, rate, rhythm & volume of speech etc as well as background noise. Plus most people want to know that they’re talking to a real person not some chatbot, so I’m not sure it will happen. If people can only text, they tend to text someone else & ask them to call emergency services for them. Plus far too many people just put stuff on social media these days too. The number of people that threaten suicide by FB, Snapchat & text these days is insane!

It's probably best that nobody knows, except those that she wants to know. That's kinda the ideal situation, as she gets to choose the amount of exposure her story gets that way. And as such, if she wants to just put it in the past, maybe tell a current or future friend/family member/therapist/whoever about it, that's her prerogative. This way, she isn't flooded with media calls and such, but can rather slip back into society should she so desire (obviously with some mental scars, I would imagine, but this way she can deal with it privately rather than being forced into the public spotlight)

Omg. You could hear the terror in her voice. I know she didn’t want to run out until she knew cops were there to protect her. God bless her.

I understand that 911 needs to get all the info they can get but listening to some of the questions made me anxious. Like, where were you bleeding from. She needed to be as quiet as possible. Do you wanna know my favorite color too? Joking aside, I’m glad he’s caught thanks to her.

That's true, but the Caller has no obligation to answer any questions, so it doesn't really hurt to ask

The most stupid dispatcher to ever exist, not even comforting the victim, she speaks to her as if she doesn’t believe her at all, that’s ridiculous!

The girl was remarkably calm during that 911 call. I'm glad she not only escaped but also got him arrested as well.

It would seem that the length of time the dispatcher kept that poor woman on the phone increased her chances of that dude waking up. What the hell?!

That woman is so amazing. So calm under so much pressure. Wow.

Everyone is saying but yeah, that call is the definition of chills along the spine. So good that the girl got out! Sad that he didn't get longer time for his initial violence.

A very poor dispatcher. A lot of questions asked that could have waited and waisted time getting important information. Ridiculous.

I thought so too! It was OBVIOUS she was in a situation where she couldn't talk! Why all the questions knowing that. Get as much description of the address and dispatch the cruisers...PERIOD and stay on the line listening.

    What a great case study!
    Thank you.
EDIT: This was powerful. You have amazing skill and a true art form for bringing these stories to the community. I really appreciate the time that you take to with each video in order to maintain your high standards and level of quality in your work. I know it's an investment. Thank you.

This is my home town. 911 dispatch is based in a whole different county. This is one reason dispatch is so clueless on a few things. Our police are equipped to handle drunks and not much more.

DISPATCH - YOU DONT HAVE TO TALK IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE IN DANGER
    The girl- goes silent
DISPATCH - STARTS BOMBARDING WITH "HELLO YOU THERE" "HELLO "
