The recent and now ongoing near-total shutdown of the Red Sea shipping lanes escalated in violence as British and US-led military strikes against Houthis rebels in Yemen kicked off yesterday.
The spot silver and gold prices in fiat US dollar terms sold off to start the week only to rally back on expanding violence in the Middle East to close the week.
The spot gold price again cleared $2,050 oz to close another week of trading, while the spot silver price finished at over $23 oz again.
The spot gold-silver ratio ended this week where it started, at 88.
Some of the following charts, data, and headlines all suggest things are not going well, spanning from central bank balance sheets to many citizens increasingly suffering under growing cumbersome debt levels.

As evidenced with Ukraine, the US lacks the industrial capacity for major wars.

Using the path ruler in google Earth it seems from Britain going round Africa increases the sea route to China by a quarter, biy of an inconvenience but not deal breaker. Many ships go round Africa to avoid canal fees anyway. This is mainly a problem for Mediterranean countries.

Lake Gatun (a man-made brackish water lake) needed to have pumps built for it when they expanded the canal years back for supertankers.
Then last rain season was the lowest on record in Panama City adjacent. This has been an ongoing issue for almost 1 yr now.

I don’t see why the major banks should be having so much financial difficulty after all they’re the ones that have the credit cards that charge up to 30% somethings really wrong with this picture if they’re crying poor clearly the banking system needs to change and banks need to keep more money on reserve not no money on reserve the way it is right now but also they need to come cleanabout how much money they’re actually making with credit card debt. Our banking situation is terrible unethical and needs to be corrected.

Sure some supposedly neutral and Gaza 'ally' vessels are still using it, but the volume is down +90%, and our Western world viewers are going to see the effects of that the main point of this portion of the update.
