Liam will never be forgotten. Bagatelle is within our irish D N A. The songs reflect irish life, feelings and dreams. My kids know all Bagatelle songs and now my grandkids are singing them. Liam and Bagatelle will live forever.
what a great band, it was so dissapointing they did not make it big on the international stage, they were so close. Thanks for posting, great memories of the summer of 1980
Although I am Hungarian, I became an Irish man for a few minutes. This dreamy song captivated me in its mood and drama. The Bagatelle ensemble fully contributed to this. Thank you very much.
Just saw this.... and cejhI am with you completely. I bought my children the book "The long walk" so they would know the great sacrifice of the Choctaw for a people they had never met. Ireland is forever in their debt for the what they did and the spirit of that great deed.
where ever you are Irish person who posted the first post - know we all have those memories and where ever you are - we always miss our Irish, you're part of us x
My heart goes out to the Irish people and to Ireland because just like my people the Native Americans other countries came in and took their land like what happen to us Stand tall and Proud my Irish Brothers and Sisters for one day things will change and we will get our lands back....Oh great spirit watch over us and keep us safe.....Aho
Thank you so much for posting this beautiful video! Its such a wonderful irish song and the pics makes me sad. Just have been to Dublin once but i really felt in love with ;-) and i want to go back!!!
Ah,this song always reminds me of my wonderful childhood in Dun Laoghaire, and getting the 7A CIE bus,if I remember correctly, and getting off at Easons! Then the 46A into Dublin.I always thought that the Liffey stank too, never knowing why,but my Dad said it was the smell coming from the Guinness factory!! I only had 10 Summers in Dublin, but they are etched in my memory forever.I go back home regularly, but janey mack, how it has changed!Still love it though.
I got tickets for the lads gig in the Empire in Belfast in November. I cant wait. I'm from Bray but living in Belfast for 20 years. Liam came and played for a benefit gig for my uncle Paul Ashford from Stepaside a few years ago, which was much appreciated. Love the Bagatelle tunes. Cant wait to see the gig in Nov. I feel like I'm "Going back to the last resort". C U in Nov.
I worked in Caspers then. I was Eileen Murphy in those days.I worked and lived with fionnuala. You must also remember Veronica and Sue.What brill memories from that time.Did you work in Caspers or a customer. cant place the name

@@1MoreAbhi "the boat" is unavailable on cd, have you any idea which 'best of' /'greatest hits' compilation this particular version might be on? Best wishes😊
@spiritwalker30 During the worst period in our countrys history - the famine which started in 1845 during which millions of our people either perished from "needless" starvation or emigrated on what became known as coffin ships from our island, it was the Choctaw tribe who from meagre resources in 1847 raised funds of $170 to help relieve the starvation. This tribe who saw half their population die on the Trail of Tears only shortly before. Your words are not hollow my friend.
Its only a bloody song about Dublin, why all the negative Irish / English comments. There are a lot of horses there, they can use the lifts by themselves now, did you not see 'The Commitments'! ; D
