That would have distracted Optimus, causing nothing to change, Hot Rod was low on Energon so he couldn't have shot the gun out of Megatron's hands, and when Megatron was holding Hit Rod, Optimus could have easily shot Megatron

No one complains about Optimus Prime poor leadership. To me he is what it feels like to grow up (at least in the 1986 movie) you suddenly reach an age where you feel grown up, but then you make some pretty big mistakes and start feeling like you aren’t good enough, but if you have the right people in your life you find your path and begin to grow for real. Update now that I own one (the KO but w/e). If you have issues with his shoulders being set too wide, I recommend pushing in his side fenders *after* his shoulders are locked in. They won't lock in anymore, but that hinge is tight enough to sit on top of them without moving, and it greatly improves his upper torso proportions and edges him closer to his line art. There *can* be a clearance issue if you aren't careful with the arms, but I don't think it's kid-glove worthy of an issue. Also, he *is* slightly undersized...simply to allow him to fit inside MP-10's trailer. Yes. That's the actual reason.
Hello, a guy from the future here, this video really made me realize how the new studio series 86 Hot rod truly is a nerfed down/ upgraded in some ways version of the masterpiece. It has pretty much all the same accessories and features!
That would be a waste of like, $70. Just because you don' like a character, doesn't mean you should get an expensive toy of them, and destroy it. Especially if it's a good toy.

This was my first Master piece figure, Solid 9, No paint chipping so far and I've had him for over 2 years, his accesseries are good, Love the fold down Visor, main issue is the tail fin, It gets loose over time, but to be fair I used him a lot (Also, the matrix that came with mine was molded in opisite colors then painted over, and Paint HAS chipped away from mine)[also, why is mine the only one that came with a matrix? mine was plastic, but still a nice one)
After what, getting shot and becoming leader by the chance of being found by the time travelling Aerialbots? Optimus didn't earn it so much as he got it for getting grievously injured and then rebuilt into the first Autobot built for war by the guy who had been keeping the Matrix safe for so long(of course War Dawn was before the concept of the Matrix of Leadership, but that was retconned in Season 3). Hot Rod put up way more of an effort against Galvatron than just jumping at him, actually knocking Galvatron over and landing a few shots before getting nearly strangled, and was subsequently rewarded for getting the Matrix of Leadership back from Galvatron.

This was my first Master piece figure, Solid 9, No paint chipping so far and I've had him for over 2 years, his accesseries are good, Love the fold down Visor, main issue is the tail fin, It gets loose over time, but to be fair I used him a lot (Also, the matrix that came with mine was molded in opisite colors then painted over, and Paint HAS chipped away from mine)[also, why is mine the only one that came with a matrix? mine was plastic, but still a nice one)

Optimus didn't earn it so much as he got it for getting grievously injured and then rebuilt into the first Autobot built for war by the guy who had been keeping the Matrix safe for so long(of course War Dawn was before the concept of the Matrix of Leadership, but that was retconned in Season 3). Hot Rod put up way more of an effort against Galvatron than just jumping at him, actually knocking Galvatron over and landing a few shots before getting nearly strangled, and was subsequently rewarded for getting the Matrix of Leadership back from Galvatron.
No one gonna remember Hotrod as "That guy who's the next Autobot leader" but as "That little shit who got Optimus killed" instead
