It's funny that in the manual doesn't says nothing about the 22mm nut from the left side, still a nice and useful video!

A lot of bike manuals don’t. Worryingly, I found if you don’t loosen both off, the adjustment dosen’t work.

Not true for me. I never have to touch the 22mm nut on the left side to adjust my chain on my NC. Mine adjusts perfectly by simply loosening the right 27mm nut only.

Estupendo vídeo Mike. Exclentemente explicado.

    Dear FinnMike,
Thank you very much for sharing this useful video. I ride a 2019 NC750X DCT, very pleased with the bike. DCT is unbelievable.
I have one question though. You measured the chain slack with the bike on the centre stand. The manual states it should be on the side stand.
    Do you agree?
Thanks and greetings from The Netherlands,
    Paul

      Hello Paul,
You are absolutely correct, the chain should be measured when on the side stand. However, I measured on side stand and on center stand, and allways got exactly the same measure, so I decided to start measuring on center stand because it's easier. I forgot to mention this on the video.
      Happy riding ! :-)

I just rode my new (0 miles) home from the dealer yesterday. Bright day and had a hard time seeing the dash. Is there a trick to making that dash visible?

@@timjohnson1199 It can be brightened up, the manual will tell you how.

Thx FinnMike, great info! Can't wait to hear from you regarding the install of the ROX bar risers. I bought the same and my local Honda shop could not install as the DCT cable is too short and can not order a longer DCT cable. Let me know when done installing yours and any tips for my local dealer. Happy trails, JP, Canada

What center stand do you have? Which brand?

Nice Video. However according to Honda, measurement and adjustment should be done under load (e.g. 1 person on the bike) bcs. you will end up riding with a loose chain if you adjust it unloaded, alltough of course your unloaded measurement will be within the specs limit and trick you.

Ohjeessa sanotaan että pyörän pitää olla sivutuennalla kun säädön tekee, noin sinulla on nyt ketju liian kireellä.

Is it possible to over tighten the rear axle by hand?

    • @SoopaBee
      @SoopaBee Месяц назад

I think you could if you really used a lot of force. But the nut has a fairly high recommended torque setting so you would need to tighten it really hard. I think you’d be fine hand tightening temporarily until you could get a proper torque wrench on it.

Please, nerver adjust a chain on the center stand. Always on the side stand, if possible you, or a person sitting on the bike ( no side stand).
