Thanks again for another great maintenance video! This is an area of my 2019 NC750X DCT I’ve overlooked. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Ride safe....
Wasn't aware attention need to paid to that location unless it is a job that requires change of the needle bearings. Thanks for the vid adrian, though as you have said it is best to ref the manual to get an idea which particular grease to be used.
Nice Video .. and love your honest narrative. I actually just picked up my 2023 NC in Canada yesterday and have now subscribed to your channel. Nice Job !!
I watch everything on your channel and just love watching you tinkering with the oily bits lol but I couldn't help noticing on this particular video your spring started off red and by the end of the video it was black but I'm sure you've a perfect good explanation as to why this was ??? Ps good to see you back and keeping well and safe 😁👍
Getting down on the floor isn't that hard.... but getting up... oh... harder the longer you stay down. Sometimes I wonder if just staying on the floor is an alternative. :)
You're videos have been an invaluable supplement to my service manual. Do you have a suggested toolbox list for motorcycle work? You always seem to have the right tool or accessory for the job! Thank you

got a new(well new to me but its second hand from ebay)swing arm for the nc700 and needless to say i will not be putting it on the bike...........another super vid btw.
Thanks for the excellent video. I did mine yesterday and all went well until I forgot to put one of the dog bones back on. See - you’re not the only moron! Anyway, I noticed it as I did the “check for left over parts” portion of my maintenance, corrected the issue and all is well. Great video and very helpful. Thanks! If I hadn’t seen your vid I wouldn’t have even known to do this job, let alone how to do it right. John in Colorado.

It would be great to drill there small holes, and put there small ports for pressure-greasing ... And just somethimes put there a new amount of grease ... It could work well ... hm...
Hi, I have just greased the rear shock linkage and the rear shock lower bearing has a needle roller, where yours has a plain bearing. Might be worth a mention.
hang on hang on, the coil spring changed from red to black, did we miss something - edit: just read someone else already mentioned this - Great vid by the way, thanks for the videos, much appreciated

Since the new 2021 model of NC750X has seat at 800mm, I am considering buying one next year. Would you recommend it as I daily commuter? I raid every day, the whole year, mostly city at 30-40mph + small part on city bypass which is faster. Occasional trips around the country during summer as well. Any suggestions welcome. I am a bit concern about bike weight, for everyday use.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff Well...sadly for me, CB500X has a seat height of 830mm. I had KTM with that seat height, manageable but I don't want to do this again.

Question: I don not have a center stand. I tried it rear swing arm lifter on the swing-arm, but it does not work. I can't pull out the bone after loosening the screws. Any idea how to do it without center stand?
I did it on Wendy’s bike (500x) with no centre stand. 1. With the bike on the side stand, Jack it up from a point opposite the side stand (right side ) 2. With another Jack under the back right swing arm gently Jack up till the tension goes out of the swing arm bolts.
@@AfricaTwin-Stuff I also replace mine NC750X 2015 version this summer, with standard YSS, also front forks and oil very happy with my "new" bike worth every penny
Any thoughts on moly grease vs. plain old white lithium? I have used white lithium for the axles and splines on the front sprocket, but understand moly is more appropriate for needle bearings or areas under a lot of pressure/high temps.
Thanks for that. Another great production. I’m with you on the torque wrench not being needed, for most jobs at any rate. However I think this only applies to folk that have had a lot of mechanical experience, and good feel for what each fastener needs. Not so much the links as the bearings. With the back wheel off the ground you should be able to lift the wheel and feel NO movement. If there is upward movement then the bearings in the swing arm or suspension linkages are probably shot.
I love the laugh at the torque specs, classic. Now, while I'm at it... Anyone got the torque specs for those nuts? Didn't see em in the manual! Might throw it in at a decent 25Nm and call it a day?
