7 hits you right in the feels. I don't think there's ever been a more enthralled gameplay or story arc as 7. 7 just has that rugged , nostalgic relatable high school gf feel to it. It's hard to explain
One of my favorite parts about its use in 16 is that after the tutorial it is reserved for after boss fights. It makes overcoming a major milestone on your journey feel more rewarding.
14 (2.0) is by far my favorite tbh. Especially when you've just nailed a hard fight with a friend or two. It's so damn satisfying. Not to mention hearing the start every time you level up. (VII is also a fuckin' bop, of course.)
@@Ishin69Hey ho hold on. I understand FFXVI isnt for everyone. Is it a good game? Yes! In my opinion it is, and i respect that you probably dont like it cause of whatever reason. If its the battle system, which is your favorite then? Honestly id guess your fave is either FFVI or VII.
@@MinecartWithTNT i didn't enjoy FFXVI for various reasons (i finished the game btw), for me the combat was just mindnumbing, it was just mash mash until the enemy's guard breaks, spam skills, repeat. it got dull so fast, there was no need for strategy because even on the highest difficulty the fights felt trivial. also the lack of any rpg elements in the game just disappointed me. next was the grim story, i can see a lot of people liking it but for me it was just depressing because humor always was a big part of FF games but here it's almost non-existant. and it didn't help that clive had the charisma of a brick wall. sorry for the long text but i hope that explained my point of view
I think of the most established, FF V is probably the most developed version of the Victory Fanfare. It makes sense that S-E would use this version in later retro cameo moments like the Data Install success for Dissidia FF on the PSP. I think FF XVI's new fanfare is short but captures the traditional touch.
My favorite Victory theme is Final Fantasy X’s, just for nostalgia sake. I like how the beginning part of the Victory theme has (mostly) been there since the franchise began.
the results half of VIIIs always hits for me, that jazzy feel is so good. but also IXs return to the original style after VII and VIII changed the results half is a breath of fresh air.
It is my favourite game and the soundtrack always floors me no matter how much I hear it example being steal reason the theme for garlean leader boss fights
I was surprised, but this was my time hearing the victory theme from both major versions of 14 and I can't lie, I think the v1 was my favourite of them all! So bombastic!
Also not sure why 13 was so hesitant to use the FF fanfare nor any of the pieces the franchise was known for. It was as if the developers decided not to include them in fear of being compared to the songs from previous games in the franchise
My guess is because it was a new generation of consoles at the time (X360/PS3) and they were trying to change things up for the newest game. Now that I think about it, Final Fantasy VII did the same thing and then they said Final Fantasy IX was returning to the series roots. Maybe the same idea here? Not sure entirely
The intro music itself is the Prologue Theme from Final Fantasy IV DS, the first part of the Victory Theme is taken from a rearrangement done by Nobuo Uematsu for FF's 30th Anniversary I believe. And the second part is taken from the "Rivals" version of the victory theme from Dissidia NT.

FF16 be like YoshiP = the player just killed some freaking eikon. We need some glorious music. Soken : say no more. Here is a glorious rendition of the iconic fanfare.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but the post-fanfare parts of VII, VIII and X sound like the backing music for the weather report on a news channel. There is something about them that just screams “you are in a hotel room in 1998 watching CNN.” I can almost see the cgi globe spinning around to give me today’s temperatures in Hanoi and Addis Ababa when I listen to them.
Idk how or where, but I’m trying to remember. I never played any of the final fantasy games growing up but for some reason a version of this exact song was the victory music. It was some obscure flash game or whatever those games on random websites were called back then like agame and miniclip and armor gams. But for the life of me I can’t remember where.
This video was mainline games only and their sequels, no side stuff or collabs. Besides, the one used at the end of that fight is the one from FFXIV 2.0 anyway
I didn't know whose idea it was to not have the classic victory theme in the FF 13 games but that, like most of the game, was yet another shitty decision. Shame too cause the OST in general is pretty good.

It went from a cute little jingle from the first game to really catchy in VI and VII to straight up Epicness and glory in XVI.
100% Agreed
Agreed! And I feel they got lost for ff13 and 15
I kinda like ff13 Victory theme(specifically part 2)
VII just hits different.

Look the "Dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun" will always be a classic and I get it but X-2's guitar riff fucking makes me smile every time
X deadass is just Jump by Van Halen.
You missed Prompto’s rendition from XV. That is tied with XVI as my favourite version of the victory theme
Looks like someone’s having fun - Gladiolus
Or Barret's
They’re all so good it’s hard to have just one favorite especially if you’ve played all the mainline numbered games. Favorite series ever
Absolutely love that one
The ones before 16 sound like success music when I win In rock paper scissors, and 16 sounds like I just killed an elder God
When it plays after defeating(or killing) an eikon after a long battle it feels cathartic.
@@consumerjtc5835not neasecery that but basiclly a boss like a big one that takes long, but why the hell dident it play when we killed ultima

Yup - that is also one of my favorite ones. Aside from X, that is 😉
FFVI will always be my favorite cause it got that disco feels to it due to the four on the floor beat
Yeah! I love going to the disco after every fight :)
Some may call it recency bias but the one from FFXVI is easily my favorite
the epicness,
Btw the lyrics of the fanfare is in Ancient Greek!
I like how it sounds like further development from FFXIV theme (one used now) - no wonder considering same composer but man.

There ya go 16 brought the fanfare back
16 hard to top man. That shit is too good
I didn't know the Loporrits were using the 1.0 victory fanfare when they come out of their shell/house thing in Endwalker
Yeah they reuse it for certain events and moments in game still. But it's not the main victory theme anymore

7 I could listen to on repeat and 16 is godlike for just a few seconds
13 sound absolutely awesome. Like Akiba’s Beat meets Trauma Center meets Chrono Trigger
XII will forever hit with the ferocity of a lion
I always groove 6's disco beat XD
I also really like 13-3'S victory theme
FF14’s “Duty Complete” theme makes you feel like a fucking legend

PS1: FFIX
PS2: FFXII
PS3: Lightning Returns
PS4: FFXIV
PS5: FFXVI
I mean even 7 and 13 lovers have to admit...16's music is the best lol
7 got the unmatched vibes
Final Fantasy VIII and XV have the best soundtracks in the franchise, but XVI is in top 5 for sure
16 is alright, but honestly, the choir is so loud I can't hear it most the time
Drums and synth too cold in 7 to be second to any of the other themes
