Try this: Remove the old battery, connect to both +/- to another good/decent battery with over 12v reading. Leave them connected for few 15-30mins. While those batteries are still connected, connect your battery tender leads into +/- on either battery. You should see the battery tender recognizes there is some voltage (instead of yellow blinking light) and attempt to charge. And just let BT charges for 1-2 days till BT shows green. You'd be surprised your dead battery may come back to live and still accept charges and can still be used.
OC: I feel like the title should be one for teaching people methods to jump start a bike after it sat for a year. I understand the video is about the giveaway bike but this video is so informative to people in a situation with a dead battery on their motorcycle. Maybe call it, STEPS TO CHECK YOUR MOTORCYCLE BATTERY. Something along those lines. Cheers great video man :)
Hey chase I work at a cfmoto dealer and as far as I know cfmoto doesn’t install a tender connector and we always have to install a tender plug on all cfmoto bikes
Battery is easy peasy option....I'd be more worried about gaskets drying out and leaks. My CF Moto 450SS just peed oil all over the road by my home after a 70 mile ride. This after 620 mile service was done. Only put 182 miles on post service. Hoping it did not cause catastrophic damage to the motor.
I mean I thought it was a hilarious video and enjoyed making it so at the end of the day I'm super happy with the "nosedive". If you are here for "build" content I can save ya a LOAD of time and let ya know there are some other awesome channels still doing that kinda thing I can recommend for ya to watch instead.
you can try to check the voltage remaining in the battery before assuming it is "bricked" before you do anything to it.. I.E. try to put a tender on it, try to put a jump pack on it, try to put a car batt on it.... even attached to the car battery it should have stayed connected for a while so the charging system could help get the voltage of the battery up.. similar to the idea of taking a good battery putting it on the bad for a while, waiting for those two to "equalize" then adding the charger to see if there is some juice in it. also see if it is a sealed batt- if not u can add water to some. Either way, way to make archy sparky happen with the two leads. LOL.. keep up the fun.. For me I knew my battery was dead dead after these last few cold snaps. (no garage and I try to ride through the winter) plus found out my battery was from 2017.. was time to change. Cheers.
OC I nearly clicked off when I saw the Lithium battery come out. not needed at all unless someone is drag racing and needs that couple ounce advantage. Its not worth buying another charger for a specific bike. Great job with the cables. I bet you are considerably more careful next time.
OC: Chase, Dude, fire … fire … fire. LL - I’ve done the same, but don’t just toss the cables. Two other options: 1) BT’s need a minimum of volts to recharge. If it doesn’t work, try the daisy chain method using another battery, as suggested by other Commentator below (@subbiesalaki); 2) you can try to Recondition the battery if your BT has that feature. Jumping from a car battery is dicey: ~0.08 A vs. 4.3 A - it’s the Amps that can kill you or go Boom. The reason NOT to turn on the car is due to the Alternator charging even more volts and amps. Best to let the good battery connect to bad for a few minutes, as opposed to trying to crank it immediately. Same principle on a car. Note: my NOCO Genius GB30 Jump Stater (expensive) is more Miss than Hit. They can drain after just two attempts or laying around in the garage or car/bike for a very short amount of time. Mine sucks - I suggest to get a really good one.
OC- I have a BATTERY TENDER trickle charger and it can charge all types of batteries, you just have to select which type with the button on the front of it. I was happy to see the antigravity battery in the R6M bc I also have it in my bmw S1K and have had to use the RESTART technology.
I like to jump pack the bike and while it's running then chuck a tender on it leave it for 2 minutes then turn the bike off. Helps the tender to start it's process
"First time 2 up!!" May I suggest you repost this video "First time 2 up" ? It has to be one of the best videos to ever be posted on YT. Just a suggestion. With today's penetration capabilities, it should prove to go viral. Might edit title to include "An intimate experience" as a teaser. This video really is a roller-coaster, let your hair down experience, but in a great and fearful way (for Matt) and fun way. Just a suggestion.
I have a ninja 300 and a BT for it battery has died couple times i just hook up my little jump box and plug in my BT leave jumper for 30 secs and it tricks it into thinking battery has juice and charges from there
before you go get a battery use 2 table spoons of ebson salt in boiling water stir it up and put it in each hole of the battery and put it on trickle charger it should work done it on every bike I've left sitting use only for lead battery
Why didn't baby Jesus help me start my bike that one time? I had to get help from a stranger named John that smelled like burnt popcorn and wet dog food.
OC: Definitely need to get the durable charger. My daily is a 2018 R6, but my 2017 R6 track bike is already in pieces ready for it's track build to begin. And when I got it the battery was stone cold dead.
After 1 year of not starting a bike. #1 Replace the fuel If you've left fuel in tank. #2 Replace the battery unless you've had the battery disconnected and charged atleast once a month
I didn’t ride since last October, battery connected through the whole time and not a single start since then, but can still start engine no issue, should I replace?
@@blank337z Well if it starts up why not keep it. Usually when battery voltage drops below 12volta(usually at that point there is not enough power to actually get an engine running), the battery starts to break. But If you dont have any problem starting then it means your battery has never gone below 12volts. For next winter I'd recommend to detach the ground cable from the battery
Guessing he's had a few boosters since last watched. Just start your m/c every couple of weeks and get upto op temp. Cleans the fuel lines out because todays fuels are crap and can turn to gel. Can't bump a modern bike without some power, as the fuel rail needs pressure to work. 2 stroke carb bikes will start with no battery. The battery pack was naff if that can jump start a truck, I'll eat my own ball sack. iom keep to first rides as thats where the views seem to be.

Amazing job of making a dead battery video stretch to 20 minutes, lol.
You can't tell me you didn't enjoy it!
It's a bit slack hey XD

Good idea.
As a new 2023 300ss owner im obsessed with all related content.

LMAO I lost it with the Mike Tyson meme😂
I charged my battery 🔋 in the same amount of time as this video thanks Chase 😂
Hey chase I work at a cfmoto dealer and as far as I know cfmoto doesn’t install a tender connector and we always have to install a tender plug on all cfmoto bikes
Turning the key on and off is technically worse for the battery if it's too weak.
Can't wait to see more videos with the 300ss. My local shop has them for 3k right now and I'm looking to get one in the next 2 weeks
Test ride it first, really good solid bike. Also, parts are cheap and the aftermarket is steadily growing.
The camera angle starting at 3:50 is really spectacular!!!
I think you may be biased my friend haha

From custom building a Streetfighter CBR to a 20 minute video to plug 2 cables to a battery..boy if it ain't a nosedive

Enjoyed the video Chase 👍
I just put another cheapO lead acid from Amazon $44
Delivered last week. I can’t say that I regret it fingers crossed 🤞
Did the Amazon battery last?

I have a 450ss and going on a vacation for 10 days. will this drain the battery?
OC I nearly clicked off when I saw the Lithium battery come out. not needed at all unless someone is drag racing and needs that couple ounce advantage. Its not worth buying another charger for a specific bike. Great job with the cables. I bet you are considerably more careful next time.
I doubt it haha

thats weird because my charger blinks the same way, and when its fully charged. its turns to just a solid green. no more blinking🤔
Why not have a mini smart charger in garage? They are wonderful compact chargers you can keep on a shelf.
no matter what brand! if you wont use your bike for a year it wont run unless it got a kick starter.

personally my 300sr doesnt have this kind of already preinstalled charger cable 😢😢

So when you buy entries, is it like a raffle where one winner is randomly picked or the person with the most entries wins
Hi.. Please could you do a video about rev matching it would really help me alot😅
Will the ATZ-7 work on a 450SS as well?
Im not 100% on the size as I haven't looked into the 450 SS battery area yet but I would imagine so because of how small it is.
bro, update? My battery is cooked too and was wondering the same.

Yea time to invest in one then!
Don't care how old you are ...fart sounds are always hilarious 😂

And don't throw the arcing cables where they can reconnect and continue arcing on the floor or wherever they land. 👍🏽
Your vernacular is…amusing. 🤣
Damn you already had to buy a battery???
Saved my life!

had me dying with the mistakes
Didn't know you owned one
If you get a lithium battery you probably won't have that problem as frequently
@peterston4039 true it's taking time for companies to change their chemistry.
I'll use it daily😢 please chase I’m fiening😂
Thanks 👍🏻
