Are cold starts super loud in person? I had a borla axel back (later removed the resonator) on my old Mazda 3 and although I loved the sound, it was ridiculously loud and now I've got a GTI and have been trying to find an exhaust that isn't too loud but isn't super quiet either.
I was in the same boat with the sound. But I got the awe track on mine and doesnt sound too loud on cold starts, its like a mid level sound, not high nor low.
@@gavinerd19 love it. Cold starts are tame. Pretty quiet when cruising around still audible if your music is off. No drone. Gets decently loud on full throttle and the dsg farts are pretty loud at the top of the rpm
+Hunter Crews Since this is the AWE Track Edition Catback exhaust, there is no resonator in the system. What I believe you are looking at is the muffler, which is located towards the middle of the car. There is also the AWE Touring Edition Catback exhaust, and that has a high flow resonator. I believe that the resonator on the Touring Edition exhaust has the same amount of clearance as the stock resonator.
Can you please do a video while you cruise on the highway at normal speeds like from 65 to 85 mph? I am in between this one the (AWE track) or the AWE touring... I am planning on keeping my stock down pipe and I have heard that the Track one is not irritating with the stock down pipe.... I just don't want to spend a lot of money for the Touring one and ending up with a similar exhaust sound as the stock one but also I don't want to end up with something that I can't use for cruising at 70 mph... Are you still liking it? or I have you changed your mind?
+Alexis Gueits I would like to do a cruising video but I am super busy, so let me answer your questions. I have no experience with the AWE Touring Edition Cat-back exhaust, but the Track Edition Exhaust (with the stock downpipe) is very quiet while cruising from 65-75 mph (we don't have any 85 mph roads here). I commute on a 65 mph road and it is super quiet, almost stock. At 70-75 mph, it is just barley louder, you have to really listen to hear it. The price also was a factor during our purchase, and I feel that if you plan on keeping the stock downpipe , this is the way to go. I would definitely buy this exhaust again, and I highly recommend it to you.
+Cody KS Thanks!!! I will go with yours the Track one, it is cheaper than the Touring and sounds like I want it...also have your dealer said to you that they will void your warranty or something like that just because of this catback?
+Alexis Gueits We called our dealer before we made the purchase to make sure it wouldn't void our warranty. Now every dealer is different, my local VW shop actually installed this, and said it wouldn't void my warranty. This could be different with your VW dealership, so I would call before making this purchase.
+joe larson Haha. The exhaust sounds nice and deep once you get on it, and it is only a catback. Other than that, its a good exhaust for cruising even though it is the track edition. Driving around town from 0-55 mph it is very quiet, almost sounds stock. On the highway (55-85 mph), you can just barely hear it. It tells you something is there, but it is just a little bit louder. Almost not noticeable. I would highly recommend getting this exhaust, it is stylish and sounds very nice.
nice video. thinking of getting this system (same set up with stock DP) as long as it doesn't sound like a cheap fart can on a Honda Civic. kinda hard to tell at idle. thoughts and do you still like this exhaust? thanks

@@Since2010The1 I ended up doing another borla. Not nearly as loud as it was on the Mazda. Probably due to downpipe and turbo quieting it down
@@micaiahreesehow has it been treating you? I also want the not-too loud but still a difference

how low does the resonator hang? i am worried about it dragging on speed bumps.

what makes this track vs street different. ..? I'm getting a awe catback on my mk6 next week and I hope it sounds like this
There isn't a street edition. There's track and touring.
Louis4357 yes that's what I meant but unfortunately mk6 has one option mk7 has 2 .
The touring one is supposed to be a little more quiet
***** I know ..the mk6 performance exhaust is basically a "touring" non track one ..it's just not named that ..I need a DP asap
Track Edition is Non-resonated while the touring is resonated.

how much did the dealer charge you for install?
great vid.
seems like there is no drone? would you say so?
+fengee There is no drone to report of. Very good, and quiet on the highways.
After 6 months, is there still no drone?
Post some more please I really like this exhaust. Is it still pretty quite if ur hauling ur grandma in during lite city driving? Not saying I am haha
