Complete exhaust setup is Killer B Equal Length Header, Grimmspeed Limited Catted Down Pipe, AWE Touring Edition Catback Exhaust or AWE Track Edition Catback Exhaust depending on my mood.
Amazing video bro!!!!! Thanks for upload. I'm getting the track and really wanted to hear the difference
Tough choice. They both sound great. I'm in the market for my 1st exhaust, and videos like this help tremendously.
Thanks I appreciate it. In my opinion if your going to go just for the catback and nothing else the touring is hard to beat. If you like it a bit more raw and raspy then the track is the way to go.
Good luck picking an exhaust is always one of the toughest choices lol.
Both sounds good, but the rumble still there even with the headers, thats good to know because I love the subie rumble 😁
The rumble is still present, just a bit more toned down. The headers add a bit of rasp/bite to the overall tone in person.
Thanks again 🤛
i think both sound good :)
Sweet video, I like the touring better
Thank you I appreciate it 🤛.
I have AWE touring on my 21 sti 1 year ago and I put track conversion so now muffler delete. It makes very drone...
Definitely Touring for the win. Has a deeper tone and COMPLETES the STI.
Question...the rear spats...those JDM or US??
I can agree the touring does hit a deeper tone and the track serves up the rasp.
As for the spats, they are the USDM ones with the Bayso R extensions attached.
Thanks for asking.
@spdkills83 Thank you as always, big bro. Huge help mosDEF
Yea man NP 🤛.
It is a noticeable difference but not as much as you would think considering the size of the mufflers. In person how is the cabin difference? Are you surprised with the results?.
Outside you are correct it is noticeable but not what you would think. While editing you could see the difference in the sound wave. Both had the same peak overall volume, but the touring cut the rasp or higher pitch off the end. The track carried the same peak volume maybe a 1/4 second longer. It was interesting to see it like that.
As for in cabin, the drone is there for sure. It hits peak drone at about 2500-3000 if your just going through the gears. Surprisingly cruising is not bad, but if the cruise control has to continuously adjust, and the windows are up it’s on lol.
As for the results, it is definitely fun to have the option to swap back and forth. The weight savings are nice with the track as well (really main reason I wanted it). I’ll run this setup in the spring/summer then swap back in the fall/winter. Having the raw sound on hand is a nice bonus, jury is still out on whether the local police agree 🤷♂️.
@@spdkills83 Good to know thank you for the response, I wanted to go for the conversion but because there is absolutely no rasp with my touring its a hard decision to make lol. My first exhaust that is rasp free. Hope you enjoy bro both sound insane.
@@spdkills83 Hey bro forgot to ask what the difference is in terms of pops and crackles between the two systems. More with the track I would assume.
Honestly I personally do not notice any more pops or crackles. They both did about the same in my testing, which is odd because I assumed it would be more as well.
the mufflers are a straight through design. the mufflers just trap/cancel out certain frequencies because there is a hole in the pipe just as it enters the muffler body. AWE refers to this as their 180* technology....
the Touring is still super loud!
The touring is definitely on the louder side especially with the other exhaust pieces (header, DP). By itself the Touring CBE isn’t too bad IMHO.
I feel like you have to ride in it to get the real sound in the car. My track is too loud for high speed cruising at 3k rpm
I agree, that would be my suggestion to anyone considering the track. Find someone who has one and see if you can handle the interior noise.
@@spdkills83 I wanna tone it down for highway
The touring in my opinion is great for highway use if you're looking into that setup. No drone and sounds just right.
I'll have to give it a shot the videos make it hard to tell the difference
What if I do the muffler delete
If I’m not mistaken, the track edition is a muffler delete exhaust. I could be wrong tho
if you do just a muffler delete, you are spending $300+ dollars on axle backs with stock diameter piping. Put that $300+ to work and get the whole Track cat back (~$1100). Or do a single exit Ti system (Tomei or Remark or Noble or ____) for about the same or slightly less.
@@K03sport huh
Did this car have any other mods?
The car is FBO with a Cobb 20G and E85. The exhaust is a Killer B Holy header (equal length), Grimmspeed Catted Limited DP, and the AWE touring or track Catback portion depending upon mood.
Touring all the way...
