Heartbreaking. She waited till he came home. I’m glad she got some closure before it was too late. God bless all our veterans.

That's a sad story. It's good to not get too attached to anything in this life as everything is fleeting

Holy Jesus do you mean to tell me that our ally, South Korea has had these bodies since then, and wouldn't return them? That can't be true, what an unfeeling segment, didn't even tell us why or how this was happening now. These people deserve respect. They deserve their story to be told.

why and how were his remains identified 60 years later?!.. that doesnt make sense. maybe a cover up just to give this poor woman closure :'(

Cover up? Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean there's a conspiracy. More than likely his remains were not identified properly or just remained unclaimed. There are so many MIAs to try and work through. Unfortunately it took this long but fortunately they were reunited before she passed in 2015. Hopefully they are reunited again.

There are a lot of soldiers still missing and unaccounted for from vietnam. There was no mysterious conspiracy. Hopefully someday they will all be accounted for.

He died while a POW. The North Koreans probably did not keep good records of prisoner deaths and burial locations. Also, the peoples republic hasn't been helpful unless it was to their advantage. Patience.

I believe people were identified through their dental records....like in Pearl Harbor. With others there may have only been remaining bones left, no skull or anything to pull dental records from. Now with DNA testing more and more soldiers are being taken out of graves that were marked unknown soldier and returned to their loved ones. Although I heard that itself is a huge hurdle to get past because they don’t like to disturb tombs like that.

North Korea returns bodies when they feel like it. It is easily looked up. The US sometimes negotiates with them to return bodies from the Korean War. The US then sends the remains to a lab to be identified. Very simple.
