Unfortunately I feel that that Forza will never get to a point where hardcore sim racing enthusiasts want it to be (I include myself). The Forza series brought me to sim racing but I have been spoilt by decent FFB, proper triple support, FOV adjustment, VR, the list goes on. I really wanted this to lean into that but this review highlights how the marketing has just been hyperbole to generate excitement about the game and the targeting of their prime demograohic of more casual players. Problem is it's always been a simcade same as gran Turismo. I took would like them to shoot for a full sim in motorsport as they already have horizon for a arcade racer.
@rocketmagnet427 I completely agree. My issue here is they've been marketing it as a sim with 'the most advanced tyre model ever' (and the rest of it) and the whole thing just feels like a lead balloon.
There is absolutely nothing new about the career mode. These "cups" with a series of short races also existed 1:1 in the predecessors. The same goes for mastering the corners. What is Microsoft trying to tell me about a " all-new " career mode? The only new thing is this CarPG system. And in my opinion, that is implemented far too restrictively.
You didn't mention about PC optimization. I don't expect a full sim experience from a Forza game, but if I am not going to pay a $100 for a stuttering console port. Did you try on Pc?

So, going off on your comment about steering wheel compatibility, I'm guessing it's time to cancel my Game Pass subscription. After playing FM for multiple years with a gamepad, I was finally looking forward to the "revamp", but it seems it's still too controller-minded.
The assertion that a Forza game is best played with assists on, medium difficulty Drivatars, and with the use of rewind is ridiculous. Forza has always been intuitive to play without assists, hard to believe that just suddenly changed considering other reviewers have praised the physics improvements.
Depending on which games you are referring to, pretty subpar. If you have played AC, ACC or even iRacing significantly worse than those titles. If you haven’t played those titles, it feels just fine.
Great review! One tiny criticism is that you say the verdict is "Wishlist", but there is no context so I don't know what that compares to. I assume "Buy now", and "Don't buy", but is there more of a spectrum?

When I played it, it felt like what project cars 3 was trying to be. This game how ever, yeah it’s a weird one for me. It’s not built from the ground up, but I like how the cars feel, feel like they have weight to them.

I didn’t like this review much at all but got what I needed. I’ll check other reviews tho too
Terrific game, super fun. I'm 20 hours into it, and I love it. I play the Builder's Cup solo career and the Rivals mode. I dont play online tournaments, but the game needs a permanent internet connection all the same, unfortunately. I recommend a wired connection rather than wireless, as any data interuption might cause the game to get stuck when loading a race. I've felt connected with every car I've driven so far. It's like I'm one with the car, feels amazing. The control is very good with a regular controller. Cars are responsive and physics feel great around corners. I don't have a wheel, but I might end up getting one just for this game for an even higher sense of involvement. Improving your car level and pilot level feels rewarding. The more you drive, the better your drive around the tracks, the more points you get and the faster you evolve as you get access to more performance parts and upgrades, which unlock progressively. You need to work your way to the top, and you become a much better driver in the process. I'm at difficulty 5/8 and choose to start the races from the last place on the grid for a bit of challenge. I win all the races with relative ease, so I might need to raise the difficulty to 6/8. Graphically, I don't like the lack of colours under certain lighting and weather conditions, it all looks washed out, and kind of misty a bit too often. On a clear day, tracks can look great, though. The overall muted colour palette around tracks doesn't apply to cars, which show more vivid colours. Why have Turn10 chosen to go desaturated beyond realistic, I wonder? Maybe a stylistic choice. I don't care for ray tracing. I find it pointless. Would rather dedicate resources to other aspects of the game, like AI. In real life, there are far less reflections than what RT is trying too hard to emulate. No such thing as a mirror effect everywhere in the real world, except perhaps on a rainy day and a wet road. I do appreciate 60fps, makes a huge difference compared to 30fps, which to me is bordering unplayable and doesn't belong in this console generation. I dont see the point of offering this option in a 12 Tflops system, to be honest. I noticed something I didnt like in the replays. When braking before the bends, it shows the wheels strangely locking up in the replay despite driving with ABS on, and the brakes dont turn red as they heat up. Looks bad, especially when the wheels stop turning. The choice of cars is great as it is, but a bit more tracks would be nice. Turn10 say they're working on those, we shall see. Overall, for what I personally value in a racing game, this is a blast. It strikes the perfect balance between arcade and simulation, and you can easily tweak it one way or another with the aids. I give it a solid 9/10, despite the very muted colour palette, small glitches and required permanent connection to play solo, which in the end don't weigh that much in the scales to me.
No race cars in career mode in a game with Motorsport in it’s title is unforgivable! I am not interested in racing road cars on race tracks-been there done that. I was hoping this game would have focused on motorsports and the long history and different forms and classes of racing cars. I will be skipping this game and will not be buying an Xbox Series X either. Hopefully LeMans Ultimate will release on PS5 sooner than later.

I honestly believe that the game was made with the Series X and PC in mind ONLY...no love what so ever for the series S. I like the game, but the career mode is very boring. They had enough time to give us something better. The car point system is probably the best part imo
Sounds rather disappointing tbh. However, i will give it a spin on Gamepass. That is, if i will be able to use my TGT. I know this isnt on the supported wheel list but the TS PC is and they are pretty much the same thing. Can anyone confirm that the TGT is working with Forza on PC?
Microsoft is not stupid. They know that most people will play that title under Game Pass. To keep people paying for Game Pass, they have locked the progression behind a slow levelling system. If you could buy any upgrades with money, some smarty pants would find a way to defeat the system and tell everyone on social media how to circumvent the system. Microsoft just wants you to build a long term relationship with them. A long term relationship that is monetized for the benefit of Microsoft that is. 😉
A very basic review guys. Iv seen more indepth reviews elsewhere. To be honest I need to see proper day 1 release to see how stable the multiplayer servers will be. I see the sony community has come put today.
I wish gt7 would have cars like the V8 supercars or tracks like road America or mid Ohio but Forza is just not a sim and all the Xbox fan boys and even Forza themselves say it's the best sim out there. I think you guys got it spot on by saying not to take it too seriously well done!!!
@@TheeGreasyGamerPerhaps GT7 is “simcade”, but it is more sim and feels good with a steering wheel more than many titles. Especially if you have a wheel with true force like a Logitech Gpro, or Thrustmaster T-GT, I’d call it a sim with these peripherals.
This review doesn't make sense at times. Whining about upgradinga nd parts not being available, then saying you 'quick upgrade' by the push of a button? Comparing to ACC for the driving and simulation, then comparing it to GRID legends and Crew Motorfest for damage and visuals, acting as of those last two weren't extremely mediocre games? Sounds like complaining for the sake of complaining from someone who really doesn't grasp what the essence of Forza really is: a pick up and play enjoyable simcade for console users with a controller. It never pretended to be anything else.
Know how long it takes to rebuild just one car? Thats old model.. yes out of place but they game wouldnt of been out till the next gen.. then start all over again... there isnt the time these days!!

Can it not just be an either/or situation? Different regional pronunciations are commonplace; I don't go around telling Americans the 'correct' way to say aluminium, yoghurt or tomato, lol. Just let people say words how they like.
I loved FM7. I've no experience of actual racing so accepted that any failings with the car were down to me. I loved the menu music and the Driver's Cup series, it was all so new to me and gave me an outlet during lockdown. Unfortunately I can't play it now because I didn't get it for PC and with the Xbox version, the wheel vibrates constantly - imagine drilling a wall with a hammer drill. It happened with the TS-XW and now with the CSL DD. If Forza Motorsport is anything similar to FM7 then I'll be getting it. I wouldn't expect, nor be looking for, the kind of fidelity found in the popular sims.
Anyway i ll wait to see the nordsxhleife in order to purchase or not . If they manage full 3D vegetation on that track along with volumetric effects like fog , clouds etc this is gonna be glorious
This game proves that current gen consoles are way too underpowered . RT looks beautiful but 30fps is unacceptable . We need mid gen upgrades of these consoles with at leaat double teraflops to get proper 4K/60 with RT on
The idea it’s the “most technically advanced” is just insane. It’s a pathetic launch. So many bugs. So many issues. Graphics terrible with anything but the highest end cards. It beggars belief they could launch this in this state.
Go back and play Forza 4, and upgrade your car as much as you want, whenever and however you want. Then play this and immediately throw it in the garbage bin. No thanks
At least in gt7 you dont need to grind for every car to have it upgraded, this is not a good system, i dont mind working for cars and stuff but this is not it

It really felt like i was looking to Project Cars 3 when it was released...i felt so disappointed and sad 😮💨.
I honestly believe that the game was made with the Series X and PC in mind ONLY...no love what so ever for the series S.
Gameplay/physics wise... it's actually enjoyable with a direct drive steering wheel (after you spend sometime fiddling with the ffb settings)
I got my Xbox x for forza. I had like over a 1000 hrs on 7
A very basic review guys.
Iv seen more indepth reviews elsewhere.
To be honest I need to see proper day 1 release to see how stable the multiplayer servers will be.
I see the sony community has come put today.
"I see the sony community has come put today." what is this even supposed to mean? That any perceived criticism is coming from fanboys or something?
This looks great but they have to change the upgrade locks… that will kill it for me
So much better than GT7
I wish gt7 would have cars like the V8 supercars or tracks like road America or mid Ohio but Forza is just not a sim and all the Xbox fan boys and even Forza themselves say it's the best sim out there. I think you guys got it spot on by saying not to take it too seriously well done!!!
Forza is not a sim and neither is GT
Thats old model.. yes out of place but they game wouldnt of been out till the next gen.. then start all over again... there isnt the time these days!!
when i want to race, i dont play games.....
Walking hyperbole machine... Thank you for saying it. The guy has bugged me for a long time with how he speaks.
Burn the car leveling trash!
For the love of god please don’t abbreviate car points
Is it just me or does the game's graphics look very washed out
Yes it does.
Yes!
Looking forward to this and I'm going to try it on gamepass,I play ACC which is great, but looking forward to this cuz the multiplayer looks very interesting and could potentially be great.
Wow you’ll be severely disappointed.
@@kraenk12 explain please?
Similarly to how pizza is pronounced peet-za, with a T sound, Forza is pronounced Fort-za.
The music is the worst in this new game. Feels AI generated, no soul at all.
No questions, everything is clear about this arcade, as it was right from the beginning
Its simulation
No its a simcade more in style with gt7 but its not full simulation
@andreasmoller9798 it is a full sim overtake said that
@@RDR12344 he said it’s more sim than previous Forza entries. Not that the game itself is a full sim
@@RDR12344 no its not its a simcade like gt7, its nowhere at level of iracing, acc, ams2 etc
Anyway i ll wait to see the nordsxhleife in order to purchase or not . If they manage full 3D vegetation on that track along with volumetric effects like fog , clouds etc this is gonna be glorious
This review sounds soo rushed
Game seems not worth more of their time, I agree
so as the game it seems
This game proves that current gen consoles are way too underpowered . RT looks beautiful but 30fps is unacceptable . We need mid gen upgrades of these consoles with at leaat double teraflops to get proper 4K/60 with RT on
No one cares for RT in racing.
No thanks
This video is not a review
Grinding crap
Like GT7. Dont play anymore…
I love how used people are to getting free hypercars, that they complain about grinding in a game
At least in gt7 you dont need to grind for every car to have it upgraded, this is not a good system, i dont mind working for cars and stuff but this is not it
@@aroo7460 In game with 500 plus cars, there really needs to be a balance between the two philosophies. Cars shouldn't be given out like candy, but it shouldn't take a player hours to unlock one car either.
Well 7min wasted, why u ask? Well at 7+min u said the game is best played in gamepad and not on a wheel.
Ill pass this arcade, ty for heads up
Overtakes said its a SIM
@@RDR12344 sim for a gamepad 😆
@@vedadtursum6341 did you watch the overtake review
@@RDR12344Dude, you've posted this reply to like 10 different people. Just cause one other reviewer claimed it was a sim, this doesn't make it objective fact.
Quite enjoying it personally.
Honestly, I do hope they fix the progression but I’m having so much fun that I almost don’t care. I want my 2020 R8 ❤
What a negative review, seen better ones
You're absolutely right every other video is calling it a Sim
even less realistic than GT7, more frustrating structure, best graphics overall….. not enough
???
Overtake said it's a Sim
GT7 has very convincing physics. Much more than this.
This looks terrible, they shot for shot copied Gran Turismo
Just worse in all regards.
