I was diagnosed with TMJ. My dislocation were open. Last count I've had over 12/15 dislocations. I've have had between 20/24 surgeries on my TMJ. Last one was total joint replacements with the Christenson metal joints. I'm a retired dental assistant & I got to see my skull being made as well the joints being made too. My joint replacements were done in 2003. My pain level is off the chat & yes I have dislocated 4 times since the surgery of 2003. Please try everything first before having any TMJ surgery. My case was due to my birth. But for the over 95% of TMJ suffers listen to your doctor & read up on TMJ. There is a very good website you can go to ( yes it has great information about TMJ. & doctors information too) it's called the TMJ Association. hello..my mom has this case but the ENT said the muscle is stiff so he cant maneuver..is there a way ro loosen her musle isntead undergoing for general anesthesia?
