Good for our friend January! Nobody can curate a series the way you do. You make everybody’s day when we get these little tastes of NYPD Blue. Thanks very much.
I've seen this a million times but this time I burst into tears at the sheer artistry of this entire series. I am privileged to have watched it over the years and nothing else compares or even comes close. Masterpiece, every episode, every detail.
Franz's angry visage is scary indeed, but it's a picture-perfect snapshot of profound kindness next to dad's glare before he dropped the booze. I find it difficult to be impressed with any man's signature intimidating look after being on the receiving end. That said, angry Sipowitz might just wield enough gravitas to make me confess to something I never did. First rate acting; powered surely with the content of a story or ten behind the scenes.
I just finished binging on all 12 seasons and I have to say that this episode was right at the top of all. Andy Jr. had the look of awe in his eyes when he saw that his father solved a kidnapping case. Great story, great acting!
This is when you see just how talented Detective Sipowicz is at reading people. At pushing them, riding the edge of what he can do to get the suspect to tell him what he needs to know. All while watching out for the victim's father and Andy's son. Perhaps his finest moment.
Underappreciated aspect of this is the multitasking that Andy has to do. His own emotions on a case that he's been on for years, looking after the father, keeping everything going well with Andy Jr, and by the book police work in all that. Masterclass. Next one up is one of the best moments in NYPD Blue history.
Denis Franz was the best. When they talk about Bryan Cranston and James Gandofini, they should mention that as great as those two are, they could still take lessons from Franz.
@@Bender1138 He was simply born to play cops. If Sipowicz was his last role, what a way to go out. Goodness knows how you would but any reboot of NYPD Blue would have to not include someone else as Sipowicz. A character who begins as a bigoted, racist, alcoholic, wife beater. And even in season 1, you're rooting for him.
@@ianbellis7064 there's always someone pronouncing that something is underrated underappreciated like nobody else noticed it but them on these RUclips videos and yet this guy just said in a previous comment that this was the fastest reading clip per hour in the history of RUclips dude it's not under appreciated everybody else gets it just like you did
This is one of the best episodes. And you see how great a detective and how much the job really affects Sipowicz. And he’s just that good. To flip a two year old case and find this kid. Great writing and great acting.
Such a great show. I watched this episode again last night because I happened across a few of your vids on this episode. Andy Sipowicz truly did have one of the best character arcs in TV history. It was like Sipowicz was a more nuanced version of the cop Dennis played on Hill Street Blues.
First off...Loved Andy Jr. and his "Stay out of the way while Dad does his job" attitude! Tough for him to just take it all in while not getting mad. My mouth just about hit the floor once I realized that Mr. Bucci's daughter might just be alive. That was not what I hade even contemplated when this interrogation started. This video has so many layers to it and yet as heavy as it was, so much was made clear too! Great Post January! Cheers From Ohio
And this was mr bucci or some other similar story where the girl has been missing and the dad meets Andy on a street corner snd asks him to go up to an apartment because he feels his daughter might be in there, but she wasn’t.. just remembered.. different story .. the dad hired a psychic / pi and he just kept milking $ from the dad pretending to get leads.
@@mkrny111 Same character. Andy sat with Mr. Bucci and his wife, who had come to accept that her daughter was gone, to help Mr. Bucci understand that he needed to move on with his life. Then, at the end of the episode, Mr. Bucci shows up asking Andy to check out the building you mention.
Don't tell me there was a better cop show on TV than "NYPD Blue" - this first season was the gold standard. Acting, writing, directing, nothing even comparable today.
Dennis Franz (Sipowicz) did a great job playing a detective in NYPD Blue and Hill Street Blues. This scene was great. The great part about this scene is that some detectives have a unique sense about them when it comes to crime and the bad guys. Andy had a gut feeling about this guy and he saved the little girl. There are so many detectives out there that have this ability and as a society we must not only thank them but back them up. Steve Bocho made this series and other police series so he deserves credit as well. Most police officers realize after a few years on the job that it is a thankless job. But I would tell them 1 day, they will understand it. They will have helped more people then they realized. Thin blue line, dont let them erase it. (Camden NJ)
Milch did a good job letting people get glimpses of pre boose Andy in this season. Moments like this clarify why fancy stated once " if a member of my family ever was killed or harmed I would want him as the lead detective" . And a previous comment spoke of the directing it is marvelous in this scene especially the shots of the perpcwhere the camera is tilted looking down then readjusted for a zoom in shot slowly. It'd kinda like a flashlight to the viewer exposing him as the weasel that he is
I have been a fan of being here for a rather long time. This particular clip is reminiscent of the entire timeline, Andy as a father figure. And yes, it reminds me of my dad.
L 👀ky here January, we could wait for a few days to see the next segment orrrrr... you could upload it in a few minutes and stop the suspense from causing us such anxiety... 🤯😳🤯😳🤯
I used to occasionally upload random clips that were interesting to me, then the Channel evolved into sequential progression. Yes, there are many duplicate clips.
I know this is a fictional show. I keep reminding myself, "Hey, this is fictional!" Still, my willing sense of disbelief kicked in and I started getting chills and...well...you know....
Darn, where's Jenny Is the whole nypd blue this blue, no made up freshly styled latest fashion togged perfectly colour coordinated model police on high heels, me likey
Andy's character is the definition of what is wrong with the public perception of policing. He is a criminal. Should be in jail for the rest of his life for just one episode. But he is hero. So gross.

It’s the thumbnail. Andy looks at you that way and you know, click or get a tune up from Andy
That’s because it is Andy’s finest hour!
I'm glad you're sharing these with us. They really don't make shows of this quality anymore.

Thank you for uploading and providing these clips! Perhaps you should monetize. I would not mind a commercial if it helps you to keep doing this.

Season 1 Andy once he got off the booze just was a beast. And Dennis Franz stare is the stuff of nightmares.
Straight Edge Sipowitcz is the best Sipowitcz.
You got that right!
He's also a Vietnam veteran.

@@joywyatt9136 HULU
I didn't see awe in his eyes at all. He comes off as a complete doofus.
Not just great acting, but the camerawork in this scene was amazing. Those sweeps from the perp to Andy are Scorcese quality.
In my Top 5 favorite Andy moments. He made that guy sweat without laying a hand in him.
But he did lay his hands on him.

Sipowicz was a badass cop and this right here this is the victory that every cop hopes for so glad they found the Child Alive
This scene always gave me goosebumps. Especially when he says "Dom, Dom listen to me! Jenny may be alive!"....

this is my favorite storyline in the entire series
Even to this date, no one can match this guy's performances.
Deservedly, this gets Andy a second chance with Sylvia as it affirms that there is some incredible good in him.
So well written and acted my heart was pumping by the end of this short clip. Deeply miss shows like these.

I binged the entire series last year and this episode was by far the most epic in the entire series followed closely by him making Sgt.

Well, there goes my makeup this morning. This was so tough to watch again.
With no Kelly in this ep, you have to wonder if things were quickly going downhill at this point between him and Bochco.

My favorite all time show and this is my favorite episode. Sipowitz was the best
Franz is great of course, but also props to the other actor. You can see the moment when he realizes he's caught, and his eyes are glassy. Nice job.
This was a masters-level class in detective work and suspect interview technique by Sipowicz.
One heck of a play by Mr. Franz when he released the little girl was alive.
Always felt this was the beginning of the redemption of Andy.
The best episode of the entire series.
Great scene amazing acting
I cannot believe I’ve never heard of this show
All from an odd look and hesitation to shake hands
Best tv cop ever!

The Bucci case!
Is there a follow-up to this clip/episode? And will you be posting it? I need to know what happens!! Thank you
Oh my god.
Sipowicz takes down Art Garfunkle.
IF ANYTHING HAPPENED THERE? How can he say that?
Andy the super beneficiary of plot writing. "Tell me!" "Okay."
