Possible dumb question but do you guys carry when doing hikes? I open carried when i went camping and hiking in Colorado with friends, used my ronin belt with just the gun and 2 mags.. I felt like concealing would have been more uncomfortable. We did almost have a run in with a cougar so im glad I had it but.. just wanted to know your thoughts on it as i felt I over did it a little. Also what watch is that?
Generally I will conceal. If the hike is rough I’ll throw it in my bag. In WA I’ve seen people open carry and no one really bats an eye. If I did it I’d prob just use a strong leather belt and a low profile belt loop holster like Raven of Bravo Concealment.
I hike the NW and a Kenai chest holster is the best option for me with a HPG Kit Bag being a good option if I feel like concealing. Hope that helps. OC is quite accepted in the PNW wilderness, though.
