When Chloe dies it hurts me the most because of Max, she went through all of that effort to save Chloe, she went through all of that trauma. In the end it was all for nothing except her having a fun time with her before she died. It’s so bittersweet

It's so crazy because I used to watch pewds a lot, like everyday, back in 2012 until probably like 2017-18, but i never watched this series for some reason, so this is my first time watching it. It's actually kind of surreal; i feel like i'm in middle school again or something.

Chloe died without ever meeting her best friend after her dad died. She died feeling betrayed without knowing all of the memories Max knew... This made me cry today as much as it did 5 years ago.

I think Chloe represents the blue butterfly and Rachel the deer. Because Chloe's hair is blue and the butterfly is too and it showed up when Chloe should've died and when she actually did. The deer showed up in the scrapyard, where Rachel was buried and it was also Rachel and Chloe's secret hideaway. I played this game myself and the endings were both very sad. I chose to sacrifise Chloe (which is also the "right" choice according to the developers) and I still think about it now and it makes me sad cause it felt like I actually knew her and that she was a real human being. What I find one of the saddest things is that Chloe died before everything happened so she didn't have those fun memories with Max before she died.. She still was angry at Max at the time cause she never visited after she moved. She kind of died lonely because her best friend went missing, she didn't like her stepdad and she thought Max didn't care about her either. It makes me so sad.. 😢

The deer is Max's spirit animal, the butterfly is Chloe and the blue bird/blue jay is Rachel's. Mr.Jeffersons is an owl and Nathan's are the birds, Samuels is obviously the squirrel and either Principle Wells or Frank is the whale. Frank could also be a dog..
But in the storm chloe said to max that all these memories are real and all! Well this game is really so sad
I was thinking the butterfly represented the butterfly effect, considering it's a time travel based game. The deer could represent Max's innocence. It could be a bit deeper than that though. Good theory.
The saddest thing about the sacrifice Chloe ending is that she died alone. She resents her mum, hates her stepdad, doesn't know what happened to Rachel and hasn't had the chance to reconcile with Max.

I don't know if anyone will agree, but I actually felt that sacrificing Chloe was the best ending, in terms of the story at least. It just...fit. All of this was a beautiful coming-of-age story, teaching one character to accept the past and one character to accept the future, even if her friend would not be a part of it. You can say it's accepting destiny or fate, but really, they're finally coming to terms with having no control over the chaos of reality. Choosing to sacrifice Chloe, not only did they save the future of their town, but they managed to complete their character arcs and finally brought the story back around. Strangely, with ending was more hopeful.
Sorry for the long entry; this ending had to be the best wrap-up to a story I've ever seen. DAMN. Mind and heart are so satisfied. :)

I agree with you. No matter how much it hurts, sacrificing Chloe wraps it up. The whole meaning to this game is that no one is perfect, including Max. She can't fix everything. Even though it makes your heart just shatters everywhere, it's reality. There's no good ending every time. LIS is my life.

I actually disagree, There is no straightforward answer to this question because it ultimately depends on an individual's values and beliefs. Choosing to sacrifice Arcadia Bay is usually picked believe it is the lesser of two evils. The decision to sacrifice Arcadia Bay is a complicated and subjective one. I personally chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay because of the emotional attachment between Max and Chloe.

watching it again years later still gets me to the same "downness" feeling I had years ago. Crazy stuff, I have a lot of life thoughts once again
I think letting Chloe die did her character justice because she got to reunite with the two people she loved the most in this world, her dad and Rachael and because of her death, Katie got to live and Chloe's death also brought an end to the Vortex Club and probably brought a change in a lot of people's lives.
Yet the worst part is, you go so far back in time that you never actually spent any time with Chloe (in this specific time line of events) meaning she probably dies thinking max left her for good.
On the other hand though a lot of people can assume that the butterfly is another form of Chloe that had to get hurt/die in every other timeline which is why the butterfly is still there even after every change in events.
ofc thats just my view on the game, but I hope you enjoyed this amazing ass series as much as possible 🙏🏽😤

Life is strange taught me a lesson, no matter what happens, no matter how many times you wish to turn back time to change something,you're just can't change it and had to face it and move on....
All i can say is that life can really be strange even when playing the game you know you can have similar experiences and strange events will lead you down a new path

This is something nobody else has noticed! When Chloe is driving with Max there the camera goes close to her necklace, 3 bullets. The 3 bullets symbolise the 3 bullets that were meant for her: Nathan's in the bathroom, Frank's in the junkyard and Mr Jefferson's in the junkyard again where they found Rachel.

this game is more emotional when you play the before the storm first because rachel's death would've made you feel as much pain as chloe felt

Abhinav Narayan In the end there was a butterfly... the butterfly represents Chloe. 😭 This means Chloe's soul knew about the memories and never forgot that max was with her in the journey. So when Chloe died she had flashbacks of Rachel, Frank, Nathan, her parents, Max, etc.
That's what makes me cry in this ending.

i finished this game a long time ago and i keep coming back to walkthroughs and things to fill the void it left in my heart :( i highly recommend the comic series that they made after this game though, they're really good and incredibly sad so bring a box of tissues with you

This game really makes you think over everything you've ever done. All your choices, all your mistakes. What would you do if you could time travel? Would you fix everything, save your best friend at the cost of the lives of many? I really doubt that I'd be able to make this decision, but if I was somehow able to and I was in this situation, I'd sacrifice my best friend if she was really asking me to. Chloe had a point. Max was only delaying the inevitable. So yes, though I would have probably hated myself forever, I'd sacrifice my friend to save everyone she and I cared for.

SO, I started this at around 12:30 am and I stayed up for 10 hours all night watching this whole series straight through and this is such a great game and game play. honestly the best. I hope you do the second season! thank you for uploading this game play

see how the designers kind of made fun of themselves for the bottle puzzle? lol in the scene where she’s in the bathroom and there are codes all over the walls, if you somehow manage to guess the code wrong 50 times, max will say “i’m going to make the designers pay for all these bulls**t code puzzles!” 😭
