This is interesting because this actually does happen more then you would think. I looked it up and the Amish don't have birth certificates thus legally don't exist as citizens. So if you try and leave the cult it will be incredibly difficult. They can get a birth certificate but that would take someone who witnessed your birth to vouch for you and when you are shunned that in nearly impossible.

I love this crossover so much because it has so much potential thanks to the end of SUF. Dipper and Ford being puzzled over Steven and gems, The Twins and Steven bonding and Stan and Steven interactions are the best!
I'm honestly glad that someone addressed this possibility of the government going after Steven because I'm not entire sure is the Gems even know how the legal system works in the slightest
