I appreciate when you note/highlight something that is excellent "all around" purpose (like the Tatula). I know some people get crazy with using THIS reel when it's sunny, THIS reel when the moon is full, etc. I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to gear (mostly cuz the wife yells at me for spending money :) ) and it's great to hear in these talks when you find something that is good in multiple applications.
The reel talk videos always get me looking for a new reel! Haha it would fun to see a break down of the Daiwa 100 size baitcasters (tatula 100, CT, Elite) and show the differences!
Good video. I enjoy the product demos. I am a die hard Daiwa baitcaster fisherman. Bought my first one in 1985, a Daiwa PMA15. I still have it along with the original box. The new Tatula's are my favorites! 3 of them so far.
Anything Daiwa ! I started with lew’s moved to shimano, but ever since you turned me on to that fuego’ I’ve been a daiwa fan boy, just picked up a 2017 sv tw 103. Thanks for all the gear talk I love gear too!
Love the viDEBO, finally tipped by hand and made me decide on the SLX 70, going to spend the winter looking for good deals on one for next season. Looking forward to any/all rod & reel reviews from you this winter!
I bought and tried all the $100-$200 reels and settled on the Daiwa Tatula SV. I love the cast control made possible by the SV braking system for casting or pitching lighter lures. The SV does well with heavier lures as well. All the reels made by Shimano, Daiwa and Lew's perform well.
Love the gear reviews man. You've never steered me wrong and I value your opinion. Haven't been able to do a lot of fishing lately but I still love it when I get a chance. Keep it up brother! 👊
I used to use a Okuma saltwater spinning combo to haul some big catfish out of the Ohio river.... Always worked like a champ.... I sold it a few years ago and the new owner was super happy to get it....
Deebo, I would love to see a $200 reel series video, I would love to see the Curado 150 MGL vs Lews Tournament Pro LFS vs Tatula SV and a few others in the $190-$220 ish price range. I personally feel like nothing beats the Tournament pro LFS but the 150 MGL is solid as well.
I have few TPs and I agree they are awsome with any kind of lure.. also have MGLs Curado and SLX.. I mainly throw TRigs with 1/16 and 1/8 weights and I get same casting performance from all 3 above..
I switched my reels to DC, I have plenty of money available and it's more of a safety net. I used to get a bird nest every once in a while but with DC I havent got a single one in 2 years. It just make fishing more fun since I only have 3 rods at most with me.
I got about 8-10 baitcast reels that are in the $60-70 range i should be coming out with some reviews it's just freaking snowing outside atm so i can't really go fishing. I like a lot of the reels mentioned here and even own a few but he's got upwards of $5000 reels right there on the table lol. Some of the $70 reels i own are up there in quality with $200+ price range.
I've been using the same Shimano reels forever. My Curado Bantam is over 20 years old, spinning reels are newer. This summer I bought a Lew's Custom Spin 3000 and love it.
Bro I have fee your reels. Spinnerbait been my go to, and favorite lures to fish for 40 years. Curado DC at 7 to 4 gear ratio is perfect speed for spinnerbait. It's unbelievable, I found this on accident. Catching them by sac full for 3 days, on DC. I switched to lower gear at 6 4 to 1, I cauggt one dink in hour. I thought what the hell ,switched back started catching them again, just try it. Extra credit: strike king kvd 3/8ths oz spinnerbait, is the juice!!!!!!
Just got a new Denali Lithium planning on the shimano Tranx for the reel I'm one of those guys that has to have a matching combo. I'll probably get that Tatula for my frog rod. Love the reel talk videos.
i love my MGL 70. got it paired with a medium bassx rod for light texas rigs. ive had a hand full of lews in the past and they perform great, but i have terrible wrists and shimano lets me stay out fishin longer cause theyre more comfortable for my specific hand. always wanted to try daiwa reels
I'd love to see some spinning breakdowns, rods and reels. I feel like most, at least the RUclips I watch, do lots of bait casting reviews. Your $100 bait cast reel series, I still go back and watch when looking for reels. Something similar with spinning reels please maybe $50 or $100.. and then next maybe a new price point for baitcaster series, do all $150 or $200 reels in a row...
I fish 65pound braid locked down with tournament pro speed spool lfs carbon handle side plates and never a problem, I have pulled in giant amounts of weeds with a large fish no problem.
Good evening Mr. DEBO'S Fishing, I TRUELY ENJOYED this video on BEST Fishing REEL TALK (ECT)! You give such a desciptive and through indepth concept of ALL makes and models you've tested and compaired. BRAVO! You DA MAN! 🙂 I would like for you to test the OKUMA CEYMAR HD more indepth on a future video if possible, Thank You my Fishing Friend! LOL! P.S. I would also like to hear more about Your Reel\Rod Give Away. I am Very Excited to hear more of these opportunities! LOL! Like a kid waiting for Christmas Morning! LOL! May God Bless You and Your Family Always! Never Stop Fish'n My Friend! Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala AKA "DESPERADO!"
Awesome video. I fish reels in the $70-$145 range. I am looking to upgrade two reels so my whole lineup has dual brakes. I’m saving for a curado next especially after that review.
Been a Shimano fan boy years. Started on a B-mag 1000. Hellabass put me on a Daiwa. So far im impressed with the higher end reels. Lews makes some good reels too. Haven’t used any other brands.
Sweet reels. I guess I'm more of a habit type, Abu, diawa, lews. But shimano and okuma make great stuff. Not doing the DC reels. That's where I draw the line. Digital is for fish finders.
Always interesting to watch and learn from you, I'm a new fisherman from Israel started pole fishing about 2 months ago and I wanted to buy a surf rod and reel, any suggestions? (My brother said I should get a 12ft rod with a 10,000 shimano reel)
I know I'm a week late watching this video, but timing is everything. Yesterday I smoked my Revo X so I need a new reel. Thanks for the review. I like that Tatula 150, and the SLX mgl. Until next time...👊
I used the new lews custom slp for frogging this season. Pulled in some toads with it from under pads. They're solid as heck. You should do a review on it
Please review the Steez. I’m curious if they’re worth the price and how it performs. The guys at The Hook Up Tackle are always talking about Steez rods and reels and how they’re some of the best. Don’t think I’d ever buy one I’m happy with my Zillion sv tw best reel I own hands down and I bought it thanks to you! As far as rods go that $200-$225 price point seems to be the sweet spot for me. I have a Shimano Zodias I use for bottom contact and a Daiwa Rebellion glass rod I use for chatterbaits and they’re both amazing!
A really enjoyable video Debo. Man,you really got some good reel deals. I guess everyone could too if they spent a little time looking. I'm a Curado freak and have been since the 90's and have enjoyed being breakdown free. Anyway, you and Tactical Bassin remain my favorite Utube channels and I appreciate what you do.
You know I love gear, I would like to see the pros and cons between some of the budget side of One3 fishing and the KastKing Crixus (I have been using this one for about a year now)
I agree 💯 with a aluminum frame bait caster I don't what I consider monster bass catch a lot of 5-6 lp bass but Kentucky northern strains bigger bass I've caught just been a 10 but definitely can feel graphite frames flex on just the hook sets and with a 2-3 large mouth or smallmouth
I used to be a serious Shimano fan, wanted to try something different. The "T" line guide on the Diawa Tatula reels looked interesting so I bought a Tatula SV, first time out I was hooked. I loved the reel so much I bought another one this time a Zillion. Out of the box with no brake tension and the mag tension set at 5 15lb florocarbonate I made my first cast. I expected a huge bird's nest but nothing, so I threw one harder still no backlash. I have fished the Zillion with baits from 1/8th oz to 3/4 oz and have to get a backlash. Can you comment on the Diawa Zillion?
owner a handfull of Lew's reels..try the Tournement Pro. It is my goto. I can cast in the wind, skip, very versitile. I've had mine 2 years now and with time they seem to go better and better.
Hey Debo, love and appreciate all your work. For personal reasons I am hung up on Quantum (please no backlash...). Any reviews you could offer regarding them would be great. Particularly the Smoke and Accurist series. Thanks again!
Would love to see review of okuma, I'm tryin so hard to get into baitcasters but I suck with them. Sticking with spinners and those are beautiful ones!
Coming over from mtn biking and running mainly Shimano components for 25 plus years, it’s no different with bass fishing. 4 spinning and 4 casting all Shimano.
I have a diawa 300 I use for my a rigs and a 150 with some upgraded bearings. Those reels are pretty nice but I really love my lews tournament lite. I got it used and it must be an older version because it has the cork grip handles.

The Mgl 70 and stubby dog all in the same video!!!! Nice!
I would love to see a review of the Lews BB1...I've thinking about buying one
The reel talk videos always get me looking for a new reel! Haha it would fun to see a break down of the Daiwa 100 size baitcasters (tatula 100, CT, Elite) and show the differences!

Love it brother! Gonna be on the look out for some sales on these for when Santa comes around

I like your reel reviews and as you are not pushing any specific brand I appreciate your impartial takes
Enjoy these videos… how I found ya back then… thanks Debo!!! No choice cuz I have the shimanos lol
More reviews please it helps when trying to find new stuff
You need to do a review on the Hideup Japan Coike Fullcast lure! That thing is Wild!
I noticed the same thing with “my” or “your” reel😂. Took me a few casts to adjust but overall very happy with the SLX DC!
Great review! Just got a Cashion rod and I’ve been going back and forth between the Tatula or Coastal SV.
Love these types of reviews - gives people an opportunity to see some gear they might not otherwise consider. Thanks Debo
Hey Debo ! I would like to see you do a reel review on the Lews hyperspeed . Did you get to use yours this summer?
I used to use a Okuma saltwater spinning combo to haul some big catfish out of the Ohio river.... Always worked like a champ.... I sold it a few years ago and the new owner was super happy to get it....

I like the black spinning reel. I think it will go good with my ugly stik med/heavy rod. Thank you for your time on this subject

I got the tatula 200 for swim baits , an it's smooth as butter
That daiwa tatula 150 should be a good reel for soft plastic swimbaits like a magdrafts and still hold enough 20 lp test
