    I ordered 100 of the white wing eggs. The kids and I definitely enjoy them. They’re 3 weeks old growing well. I got 6 white, one reddish color, and the rest are pretty true. I had a 53% hatch rate.

    Is the limit to how many generations you can breed the jumbo white wing before they start changing or losing the jumbo size?

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  Год назад +1

      It depends on your breeding program. I recommend every three years to add new blood.

    After my original flock was killed, I was only able to afford six eggs, which I bought from a lady on Etsy. Four eggs hatched and one of the hens was a white wing. And then I'm not sure if all of her eggs are, or part of them but her eggs will hatch out more white wings and those white Wings lay Celadon eggs. It's crazy and I'm still trying to figure out what's going on but it's interesting and I'm in the process of seeing how far into the generations they'll lay blue eggs. And I have not yet seen a white wing male so that is something I'm striving for.

    Thank you for the video! Very informative! Wondering what kind of profit I can expect by raising these quails in my shed(plan to have like two dozen of them) and sell the extra eggs in my local farms market? It seems like people are selling these at $5 for 2 dozen. That's like 20 cents per egg. How much feed (it has to be that 18% protein game bird layer feed right?) these "sparrows" will consume in order to produce 2 dozen eggs? For chickens I think the conversion ratio is like 3:1. 3 pounds of feed turn into 1 pound of egg. What about these?

    Thank you for all the information you are putting out! I got to say I did not expect that getting into quail would as as complicated as it is. After watching numerous videos i am still confused about types/species/kinds/colors and how it all connects. At first I thought that coturnix quail is actually a breed, since most of the people grow them. Then I figured that it might be an equivalent of "common quail" in Europe and these have different types in them. But then people use all kinds of names for same type of quail. Are Egyptian quails same as pharaoh quails? And then some of them are jumbo, some of them appear to be not. Some of them are referred as all the same "just different" color, right. I really need an infographic and the one that I can adapt to european quail, as none of the name match! The only one that I sort of was able to match locally is Manchurian Quail, which I think I will go for. But wait, there is Italian somewhere in between! Maybe should ask Chatgpt :D

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  7 месяцев назад

      They are all Coturnix and the different names just means different colors and that is all.
