People of all types are welcome to move into Scandinavian countries. Also much of Europe's northern coast like Estonia and Netherlands have Scandinavian ties historically and culturally are very much brother nations with Scandinavia.

      But the reason why the czech republic, austria and germany are on the podium for beer consumed per capita per year, and why this dropeed by a fair margin during covid is tourism.
      Toursts in the czech republic onjoy beer prices they aren't used to from home and there is Beer tourism to the czech republic, winter tourism in austria means that as soon as darkness hits, the tourists get off the slopes and go drinking (And it's dark at 4pm most winter) and germany has a "small event" in the south that does attract the odd drink-tourist in september, as well as scandinavians crossing over sometimes with vans or trailers to buy comparatively cheap beer.

      The first to declare recognition of the restoration of Estonian (and Latvian) independence was Iceland. Though the situation was a bit complicated and there were good reasons not to rush the recognition. A lot of Western countries never recognised the occupation as legal in the first place, and considered the Estonian Government in Exile to be the only legitimate government of Estonia since WW2, rather than the government structures of the Estonian SSR (so in theory, the government of the ESSR didn't have the authority to make the declaration in the eyes of countries what recognised the Estonian GiE). Recognising the declaration of the Estonian SSR without a solid analysis of the legal implications could have undermined Estonia's legal continuity going forward. It didn't, because the declaration was a solid establishment of legal continuity with the interwar republic of Estonia. Russia still continues to claim that the modern Baltic states lack legal continuity with the interwar states, but it could have been a lot worse for Estonia if the 1991 declaration had been some kind of rushed mess that actually gave the Russian interpretation any legs to stand on and a lot of Western countries had recognised such a hypothetical rushed mess without checking what it actually meant for Estonia.

It was an integral part of India since the Mauryan era, as the undivided state of Bengal (even today, West Bengal is a state of India). As a Filipino, The Philippines part is accurate... Sadly. Discipline, particularly about our trash, is a problem here. Tbf we're 7k plus islands, lots of mountains and unpaved roads. I live in an area where you deal with your own trash. The temptation to just chuck our trash into the trash is tempting, tho some people opt to burn it instead and idk if that's any better.

    • @HypnoticChronic1
      @HypnoticChronic1 Год назад +3

      Depends on the trash that you're burning, if its paper, cardboard, wood pallets, food scraps etc. basically anything that is normally biodegradable its fine (tho its depends on how heavily chemically treated some of those wood based products are), the ash from that can help the soil in many cases in particular if its depleted of nutrients, similar to how forest fires deposit nutrients back into the soil once the ash finally settles.
      Conversely if you're burning things like plastics that is probably not the best of ideas, given that the smoke/fumes that come off of that are highly toxic and permeate the soil/water sources for extended periods of time, which are likewise notoriously difficult to get rid of, and in quantity especially in high concentrations can cause mutations in the local fauna (take a look at China). In which case recycling the plastics is a better option, tho granted I can't say for sure how robust your recycling infrastructure is there, but given what little I do know and your own testimony on the matter, I think I'm gonna say its likely not robust or even existent.
      Honestly if you want a effective solution and I believe you guys have at least one biomass power plant in the country, the government (if the power plant isn't privately owned) could pay citizens to gather trash to feed into said biomass power plant, this would be a two fold solution 1) cleaning up the country and 2) provide fuel for increased power generation, which would help deal with your rolling brownouts and blackouts which I know you guys have a problem with.
      The payout would be set by weight so say as a example 100 Pesos per 1kg, you could also effectively "employ" unemployed individuals this way and it could even extend down to even kids being able to bring in extra cash for the family (I know that is big thing there to), while say their father and or mother holds down and works their normal job(s) so technically a three fold solution when taking that into account.
      If you want to get people to do something money is always the best motivator to achieve that objective, the caveat and or problem with this idea is corruption which I know is also a big problem there (granted being from the States myself, were not exactly ones to talk on anything corruption related, one look at our own government can tell you that much).
      That said if y'all could reign in both the pollution and corruption y'all could very well become a tourist mecca to rival the likes of Fiji or Bali, given that y'all have a naturally beautiful country both topographically and climatic wise and Filipinos tend to be pretty friendly overall.
      Which could generate huge revenue (being from a state myself that has heavy tourism traffic, which generates anywhere from 30%-60% of our GDP it can be quite profitable) for the country which could be put into improved infrastructure projects (the road issue you mentioned) and likewise providing further jobs on said projects to help elevate the standard of living for many Filipinos.
