Christina Marie Leonard Talks The Road to Nowhere Playing During Hollywood Fringe

Bionic Buzz® interview actress/comedian Christina Marie Leonard over zoom. We talked to her about her dark comedy play she wrote called The Road to Nowhere. It is playing during Hollywood Fringe Festival at The Broadwater Second Stage. The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.
ABOUT THE ROAD TO NOWHERE:
Brianna, 30, is a cynical recovering alcoholic and struggling artist, who wants nothing to do with her overbearing mom Carrie. Meanwhile, Carrie, mid-sixties, is a social butterfly who listens to Christian pop music and flirts with anything under the age of twenty five, and desperately seeks a relationship with her daughter. When Brianna gets asked to participate in an art show out of state and runs out of options of how to get there due to her lack of funds and DUI, she has no choice but to ask her mother for a ride. What starts out as a last resort to get her from point A to point B turns out to be a journey of self discovery and forgiveness… with some wacky ups and downs in between.
