Wouldnt the draft capital cheaper to get Derrik Henry RB they expect a 3rd and maybe just a 2nd rounder at highest on the titans broadcast? Idea of Vikings improving their red zone offense and punch it in where they struggle so much? I dont know honestly i am split between defensive player and RB at moment but kwesi has to weight his options.
Books open up significantly the next couple years. Yes those big names need to be signed. But was have possibly the best accountant working our books in the NFL. The Vikes could open up a 2-3 window and yes probably have a SOME damascene in good years but nothing compared to the Saints or Bucs

So, Kwesi A-M going all in by getting either Derrick Brown or Jeffery Simmons AND landing Patrick Surtain II would instantly make this roster championship calibre, add a couple players who would be 'difference makers' for a number of years, AND resign/attract excellent talent who may be willing to change their contract a bit in order to be part of a true contender.
Would love a big trade for a defensive interior player. But giving up 1st rounders hurts our ability to move up for a QB next year....will be interesting to see what they do. These are some big time decisions.

If the team plays poorly & repeats mistakes it made earlier in the season, then we will have learned that this team has enough talent but has real difficulties with consistency, and/or it knows how to play well but just is missing talent at some key positions. If it's the former, then Kwesi A-M may go into sell mode after the Packers game, but if it's the latter, then Kwesi A-M will have to consider if it is realistic to be able to upgrade the roster enough before the trade deadline. For example, Kwesi A-M knows that this roster is still finding itself, and if it loses a really close game to the Packers without having JJ, there may be enough justification for Kwesi A-M to add players to deal with the weaknesses the Vikes have....OR....it may be clear that there is no way to upgrade the roster enough, so the players there will have to be developed further while the team takes its lumps the rest of the season....and that would mean being a seller at the deadline & looking to the future.

I see no reason to discount the future of Lewis Cine. Because of his broken leg, Cine basically lost more than a year of development, plus the team has plenty of depth at Safety right now. Cine needs this year to get used to the NFL grind, and when #22 retires, Bynum, Metellus & Cine will be the guys. As for Andrew Booth Jr., his injuries have slowed his development too, so - while I think Cine has more potential - Booth Jr. still has a good chance of being a real contributor to the team. Finally, let's not forget that Kwesi A-M has added some veterans, resigned Hunter & added Flores as DC, and all of these move have contributed to building a defence that is MUCH better than what we endured last year.
