The Canadian military used these snow machines back in the day, the hoods were white and they were all season as they were with bogie wheels, I seen one in northern Canada at a airfield and it had a front wheel instead of the single ski and in the summer time they used it to pull the small plains around the airport. Great machines.
I lean in the opposite direction of the turn. Steers great. Lifting the left track by leaning right reduces the traction on the left side track. I also have a timbersled type ski with dual skags.
150 psi is after a rebuild, any psi over 100 is good. Especially a 640, most likely a little glazed in the sleeves but it should still run like a tank.
Cool video - I'm currently working on my very own 1981 640 that I bought about a month ago, having sat for a good ten years. Got the igntion working two days ago after replacing most of the wiring, and gotta do another carburetor-cleaning as I think the floater needle is still stuck/gummed up and not allowing fuel to travel onwards

Hey the headlight was flickering off & on while while you were riding it out on the trail, FYI 😲🙀😮
That is awesome!! What a great utility sled. Nice job again!! Keep up the fun videos.
Thanks Richard! Still have a few things I’m learning with this whole RUclips thing lol but it’s been alot of fun
Try using a wire coat hanger for fishing fuel line in and out of a gas tank. You can shape it any way you like to get the job done.
Those were pretty cool back in the day, they do like to go straight though ha ha
So cool. I'd love to putt around the yard or up the road on it.
this is my fav hood of alpine i want one so bad. theres what seems to be a 67 alpine sorta near me debating if i want it

Thank you for this channel man
I should be thanking you for watching!
@@NewHampshireVintage you should definitely search for a snow/trail twister!
She's a beast
Thing looks like an early Diesel locomotive wearing Union Pacific colors.
Great new channel, best of luck to you. What are you plans come spring and summer? Cars, quads, or bikes?
Thanks Jeff! I’m thinking quads and maybe if I can find an older ford pickup or something! Either way I’ll find some old junk to work on lol
@@NewHampshireVintage well, it would NEED to be a ford if you want something that needs work!
Hey now your going to hurt my feelings 🤣🤣
There the best 🏁👍🇺🇸☮️
The only reason the right cylinder has more compression it’s because of the fan
It's a cowling not a hood....
Thanks
Good grooming machine.

You don’t 😂
Carbide ski runners
