is that a mk2 boa-ski 1969 or 70 with the jlo 297/ hr tillitson my neighbor had one about 40 plus years ago and a 1971 skiroule r/t 500 with a sachs 440 that was scary fast. the one son that was a couple years older than me couldnt figure out why it wouldnt move. come to find out someone had the adjusting bolt out of the chaincase and was in another adjustment hole for different size gearing. i had a snowmobile manual and figured it out. there is a small lake about 3 miles up the road and his father brought it up there and opened it up and scared himself to death. he said he had it going about 70-75 mph. he couldnt beleive what was wrong with it. the little boa ski ran about 50 and ran like a beast.. youre right with what are scum bags scamming people for anything. thought i would tell you that old story when i was a kid back in 1978-79. nice stove you got how much snow do you have over there in new hampshire.

That Scorpion BRUT originally started as BRUT, built by Brutanza Engineering around 1970 in Brooten, Minnesota by several technicians that left Polaris to try out their own design and engineering ideas. They developed the first production 440cc three-cylinder liquid cooled two stroke snowmobile engine that incorporated a revolutionary centrifugal clutch design. That engine was capable of about 12,000 RPM. That clutch allowed for smooth controlled acceleration at the higher RPM engagement. The BRUT also utilized a wider ski stance than other manufacturers for enhanced stability and a slide rail suspension that was very smooth for the time. My father helped develop the BRUTS heavy duty aluminum die cast engine and drivetrain components. Because of him, I visited the factory on several occasions. I was amazed to watch those men kick around design and improvement ideas on the production floor at night after work hours. My father started racing the BRUT and was supplied a LC44 and spare parts. He competed in mostly cross country and drag races and brought home some trophies. I acquired a prototype 1973 LC44 that had been thoroughly tested and dismantled for inspection. That machine was rebuilt with a few upgraded new components and ran great! Around 1975, Scorpion bought Brutanza Engineering. Scorpion incorporated the LC44 and LC29 (294cc twin cylinder) into its lineup and rebadged them as the Scorpion BRUT. After 1976 I believe Scorpion discontinued the BRUT but incorporated the best design elements of the BRUT into a redesigned performance / racing machine. The one outstanding feature of the LC44 was the sound of that high revving triple while screaming across a frozen lake! Thanks for the memories! I think my father still has a modified 502cc racer put away somewhere.

1979 Polaris TX-C was a new model that year. "C" was for Cross County (rubber track to hold up better) 340 F/A legal for ICCSF. In '81 they had their first oil injection engine in those, a 440 cc. I drove a prototype in 1980 with that engine, it was a fan-cooled actually. My father was a dealer back then.

I also have a black 92 Phazer 2 "mod" sled and live in NH. Mine came to me as an LE. I am envious that yours is an ST long track. I had to extend my tunnel when I put the 97 RMK 136 skid on. A year into ownership I blew the PTO side crank bearing and busted the case. My advice to anyone with an old phazer is to split the cases, inspect the crank and replace the crank seals at the very least. Unless of course you know the work has already been done. My phazer also has runningboards cut from a Nytro, a BRP seat with custom seat frame I welded up, EXO plastic skis and a cold air intake kit. BTW your pogo scissors are facing the right way. The Phazer 2's faced forward. Great project and I am glad you document and share. 😊

Hi there, I have just found your channel and just subscribed. I am writing on this video because it seems to be your latest one. I have a 2004 Arctic cat T 660 touring that has just 30 hours on it and has been stored indoors. It’s in perfect condition. I have it listed to sell on facebook marketplace for 3 grand, but I’m second guessing my thoughts on that watching all the sleds you are into. It was my father’s. I have a new Polaris XCR 850, so I’m not going to use the Cat much, although I have 20 acres here in Vermont. I have space to keep it. I thought I can use it for working the property with a tow sled I have or ice fishing which I don’t do. LOL. What do you think? Thanks in advance and enjoy the season!
