- Streamed live on twitch.tv, played on ShmupMAME 4.2. I had some awful luck on the 1-4 midboss - that cost about 160 million. Hibachi also could have gone a lot better. Regardless, I'm happy to PB. This puts me about 4 million below HFD's score. ( ･◡･ )
I think this will be the last time I use ShmupMAME. I bought a new monitor (Gigabyte M27Q) and the latest version of MAME (0.228) seems to play just as well, if not better with the low latency option. I also need to start playing the 360 version soon...
Will add stage timestamps ASAP.
(There's a weird audio spike during the fly in... Honestly, I was too lazy to fix it in editing.)

Meanwhile, me, who played the regular DOJ, using Save States: *cries in Loop 1-5*
I never popped the hypers in my play, never even try to chain hits (except near end of Stage 2), and always bank the Hypers. Only used it on bosses.
Now i see why i always die on Stage 3 and Stage 4

Great run! Can you please explain me the strat you adopt at 14:20?
The stage 4 boss randomly chooses between two different attacks at that point. If the discs he shoots out have a space in between each one, it's harder to use them to fill up your hyper gauges, and you won't get as many hits from them for the end of stage bonus. You can dodge this attack and wait for him to start over, where he will hopefully use the other version of that attack that has three discs pressed together. That one will generate more hyper gauge and hits.

Talk about the highest hit combo in the entire game, What was the record for the most hits?
I'm not sure what the highest hit count anyone has gotten is. 4100+ in 1-5 is definitely possible though. (Ignoring the instant hyper bug in the original release)
