Posting the link down in the comments as well because this tends to get seen more than the description. It truly is an exceptional game and some of the large-scale battles are intense as fuck. Here's the steam link to the game as well. It's on sale (35% off) currently until October 18th, so it's worth picking up, if only to try for a few hours and see if it's something you'd enjoy! Cheers! -P Link: sbx.gg/dino-predz
You can tell the devs were proud of their zeppelins, both people I've seen playing this game marked how cool it is to watch a model float up, away, return, and back down lol
This gameplay loop is extremely reminiscent of They Are Billions, which is probably my favorite RTS game but has a fairly small community because the game was "finished" years ago and was never opened for modding. You might want to give it a try sometime!
Yeah I refunded they are billions because I really hated how frustrating it was to play and then lose everything after you mess up Same with this one but it has saving and loading
Modding is unnecessary for good games. And I find most mods making original games worse, not better. If you understand a game well enough, you should not rely on any mod to beat the game. Your argument that a good game needs a large modding community for it to be popular is just illogical. A good game may not be popular for many different reasons. Maybe the genre itself is unpopular.
@ modding just adds tons of hours to games, I could have like 200 hours in vanilla project zomboid, start to get bored, install some awesome mod packs and that 200 is turning into 1000
"I'm going to discover the game and fight the nightmare generals!" Me, who also played the game, and pretty much built a fortress to take down ONE general, and he still took down most of my walls and everyone that was outside them: "Have fuuuun!" Also, Diplomacy is Not an Option is a very fun game. A bit lacking in some departements, like no flying units, not a lot of sapping options, but it's a survival game, not Stronghold. I'm just very annoyed that there's no good end, your character ends up shafted no matter what he does.
Hmm around the 13:30 mark, fighting that general, id say the best bet is HEAVY archers, then send in a single warrior at a time to eat the attack and die so it isnt aoe murdering everything while your archers and other ranged units wear him down. Now later on "Ahhh, not that easy." :p Looks kinda fun, like an interesting mix of the classic age of empire style base building with fantasy elements.
Fair enough it could work but this game is literally just the apitimy of no plan survives contact with the enemy and overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
So, your soldiers don't earn xp after winning a fight? It looks like a tower defense game with farming and mining to me. And fighting the boss without running around or any strategy seems very unprepared. Perhaps you should spread your units around so that they will not be all damaged by a single multi-hit. This game looks like Banished in some way. You shouldn't build clusters of houses because that will be inefficient as people need to walk a long way from their house to their work. It will be much better to build houses close to the people's workplace.

i remember seeing this game everywhere and loving it but didnt remember its name- thanks!
So 3D "They Are Billions?" I'm in!
1.0 brought some really nice changes, swordsmen and all other melee units got huge health regen buffs which help out a lot in those early days.
Like “they are billions” this game is a must play for me. I have over 2000 hours played on they are billions.

This game gives me some They are Billions vibes

They lied, diplomacy is an option you can change in the options menu and you can initiate diplomatic relations with factions.
It's 35% off until October 18. So ~$20 for the next couple weeks.
Only 6mins into watching and I’m kinda sold on this game

That's kinda the vibe I got as well! Just add in some wave defense and scale up the amount of enemies and it plays very similar :)
