It's true though. My family thinks I'm a great cook, but a lot of my recipes have come from him. Perfect example is last week my Girlfriend and I ended up cooking for her family. She cooked her fried chicken and I cooked my Baked ziti which I've made like 9 times by now (Which is the simplyfoodbyty baked ziti recipe) and we got rave reviews. Everyone was asking us to cook for them again. On the most recent superbowl party I made his crab Egg rolls, and people were tell me how great they were all night. I can't forget also his chili that absolutely was how I won over her parents our first year. That Chili is one of my staples. It last a while and is one of the best Chilli's I've had. Outside of consistent quality, what I really enjoy is how you never have to go outside of a standard supermarket for his ingredients. It makes prepping a breeze.
Nice recipe. Only note I would add is to NOT continuously mix while you’re cooking the water out of it, and when you do mix it, don’t scrape the bottom. If you continuously mix like is said in the recipe, there will be no pegao when you’re done. And no pegao is no bueno

I tried it and it tastes amazing!! Mine turned out slightly more mushy in comparison but I’m pretty sure it was because my sofrito was not as chunky 😅 PLEASE POST SOFRITO RECIPE ❤️❤️❤️

I like to add finely shredded green plátano and use a banana leaf on top of the rice during the cooking process. Both add so much flavor!
