in the new game+ I recommend changing charm of incineration to the charm which spreads fire, and then change charm of enduring affliction to the charm that increases length of fire
I fucking love how this game was designed. The gameplay and story in the first and second act seamlessly makes you wanna be honorable when possible but also do what you have to do when needed. The 3rd act turns you into an unstoppable killing machine that has nothing more to lose. The evolving gameplay that ties into the story makes it so you never get bored. It also makes sense for your character to do the side quests and they are all satisfying and rewarding.
This was a fun build. I used something like it quite a bit in Act III on my first run. The charms from Iki Island really start making it crazy with fear options. Lately I've been going with: Ikazuchi-no-Kami (+25% fear chance) Versatile Skills [double the effects of minor charms, provided the charm is the only one in its category (melee, ranged, defense, stealth, utility)] Steadfast Fire (melee, increases duration of Way of the Flame) Fire Doctrine (stealth, 15% chance to terrify when burning an enemy) Fortune II (utility, any effect with a % chance to occur has that chance increased 50%) Terrifying Aim (ranged, 30% chance to terrify an enemy when getting a headshot kill) Once I get enough silk to upgrade the Ghost armor again, its fear-on-kill chance will rise to 40% before modifiers. The Fortune charm being doubled by Versatile Skills should be giving a 100% increase. 0.4 base chance * 1.25 Ikazuchi * 2 Fortune = 1. So fear-on-kill should rise to 100% if I'm understanding right. Right now I'm sitting at about 75% even without the upgrade to the armor, so it's helpful. Meanwhile the Aim charm charm has its 30% chance increased to 60% thanks to Versatile Skills. 0.6 base chance * 1.25 Ikazuchi * 2 Fortune = 1.5. Since 150% chance is a bit overkill, I know that using Concentration to line up the occasional headshot kill is a good way to get the dominos rolling if I'm having trouble getting procs. Having Fire Doctrine get doubled to 30% chance from Versatile Skills helps get it started. 0.3 base chance * 1.25 Ikazuchi * 2 Fortune = 0.75. So it has the same 75% chance that my currently unfinished Ghost armor does. Steadfast Fire with Versatile Skills ends up having the oil last a bit over 30 seconds or so from what I've seen. So far I've only used a second dose on one drawn out encounter. The way I've seen things go is generally me gathering people up, lighting one on fire with flaming arrow (or several with explosive), then jumping in to execute any downed enemies. Turn on way of flame and just go to town. The constant high-chance fear events just have most of the enemies running away or getting impaled while on the ground. I seldom have need to do a headshot, but it's nice to know I have the backup option.

@@Organicwatermelon123 I can see how that'd be fun to use. There is also a charm that increases the duration of status effects. Stagger happens to be a status effect.
Personally I like to swap the charms of incineration and enduring affliction for the charms of silence and inari's might, the fox den charms because they make steath and sword play much easier too, and it makes it kind of like a terrifying samurai build.

This is exactly my endgame build! By far my favorite build. Usually my black powder bomb kills 3 enemies and terrify the rest, and if the rest don't run, one flame arrow will terrify the rest. It's specially hilarious when you encounter a large mongol groups, oh the screams! 🤣👹. For 🔥 and terrify, I couldn't find any way to make this build better. It's just boring that i can't enjoy this build on larger enemy camps in end game -_-. Enduring affliction could be changed for charm of inari's might if you like to go in close though.
That's awesome! Yeah I really wish there was some way to replay missions of some sort of challenge fortresses of some sort. Also the AI needs to react as a whole in forts. To often kill 5 or 6 and have a guy 20m away not even blink.
@@monoespacial 💯 agree. If you failed a stealth kill with one enemy in a camp and are actively fighting him, everyone should be alerted. Anyway great video dude 👍
This is fantastic. I love how the build becomes an extension of the story. If they get around to the movie, and it actually follows the game's story, this should be what he becomes at the end. Except, of course, you don't want your lead actor wearing a hat like that in act three.
Heads up: the DLC charms make this even stronger. You get a charm to extend your chain assassination to four, for example. I don’t remember if that charm is exclusive, but there’s also a charm that makes it so that now you no longer lose your entire Ghost Stance bar when you get hit, only one tick. All of these combined make this build just that much stronger.
My build is similar but I went more stealth. I used the same armour and charms to increase terrify but I use poison more eg. chimes & arrows. So I can take out enemy camps faster and remain unseen. The build also works great on Stand offs. After killing the first three in the chain the rest of the group usually runs off scared :)
I modified the build a little bit by just changing incineration to ghostly fury so you can get more ghost attacks and less chance for them to get rid of ghost stance
I know this video is old but I just tried this build and I took out an unsuspecting Mongol patrol with one singular black powder bomb. This build is fire. Literally.
I did the same but replaced enduring affliction with another fire doctrine to really max out the terrify %. They stack. The total is either 75% or 85% on kill and another 75% or 85% on burn. This is higher on techniques like heavenly strike and another modifier is added to parries from the last unlockable from the parry tree.
Haha! This cracked me up. I have been confused about how the math of the charms works because there isn't really a way of knowing without a lot of testing. A lot of the stats that the armor and charms give are a bit vague and confusing. Your math is probably at least somewhat near what the game's is. It's a cool build and a great video regardless. Nice job!
I interpreted the math differently. I think of the 2 charms of fortune as doubling any % effect. So with one you would get 50% ie if you had no other charms and say the ghost armor you would have 30% (from the ghost armor) + 50% of that 30% from charm of fortune which would be 15% so would equal a 45% chance. With 2 charms of fortune you would therefore double all % effects so I'd do the math as (30% × 2) + (25% × 2) = 110%. Of course just my guess.
Glad I'm not the only one who makes up stories about the fighting style From time to time let people escape to tell the story how you slaughtered all his men

No. You'd be trading the ability to spam Ghost Stance and the 30% chance to terrify enemies, which is basically an insta-kill, for 30% more Ghost Weapon damage, which isn't an insta-kill and won't make a difference most of the time. Then there's a debuff to enemy damage that you don't need since everyone will be too busy running away or dying. The 30% increased resolve gain is good, but so is reducing the Ghost Stance requirement from 7 to 5 once Ghost Armor is fully upgraded.

Not sure what you mean. Why would this build stop you from getting items in act 3? Also, by the time I got to act 3 I had basically everything upgraded.
@@cyberwar5949 Yeah, I used Inari a lot. But... this build is focused on defeating enemies... not unlocking things, so it just seems weird that you think a build that's meant to clear out camps as fast as possible is "useless" because it doesn't help you gather resources, which is not at all it's purpose. As I mentioned, I had maxed out almost everything with the exception of maybe some inventory upgrades for the more useless items by the time I was in act 3.
@@monoespacial i think this build suits New Game + more since in lategame i feel like there are alot of ways to clear camps in an instant which are faster then the this one
Maybe I missed it, but when making a video about a specific armor set, it might be a good idea to mention how to get the armor, and that you have to wait until act 3 to get it.
Um…math formula isn’t written correctly. But I think what he meant was 25% of 30 = 7.5. Add that to 30 = 37.5. Then 50% of that is 18.75. 37.5 plus 37.5 and add another 50% to that = the 84 he mentioned. Is that how the game stacks it up?
I don’t understand how he got around 85% chance to terrify enemies if he do the calculations, which surprised me. I tried doing the same calculations on my calculator and got way different than around 85%. I did 30%*(1+25%)*2(1+50%) on my calculator, but I got over 100% as a result. Either the math was wrong or I’m doing it wrong idk.
The way I wrote the equation is wrong. It should be 0.3*1.25*1.5*1.5. Basically I take the 30% change and multiply it by 125%, 150% and 150% again. This approach might be wrong but the 85% I arrive at seems representative of what I see in game. The reason I start with 30% but then multiply by 125% (instead of 25%) is because obviously doing so would decrease the %, not increase it.
I personally think the build is too OP, like many other builds in the game... I didn't see even one person saying this is underrated. I realised i have more fun engaging in longer combats and trying to even the odds without Gosaku's stagger damage or ghost armour's terrify. But that's just me. I can see the appeal of playing like this, you feel unstoppable
This is really fun to watch, but tbh I'd rather just switch the fire-related charms for stagger damage and just have a great all-rounder that can still wreck in a head-on sword fight.
I highly recommend changing the powder bomb charm too dual of destruction. With the fortune charmed. Its an 80 percent chance too do double damage
That's a really good suggestion!
How is it 80%? What’s the charm setup?
in the new game+ I recommend changing charm of incineration to the charm which spreads fire, and then change charm of enduring affliction to the charm that increases length of fire

That's a great criticism. I thought about mentioning it and, clearly, it slipped my mind. I'll make sure I mention that next time.
Yeah, the math is something I'm not sure about, but at least in terms of gameplay, almost all enemies will flee if you fire someone up.

Late but instead of that hat I use kazumasa helmet refined so I look like batman, lol
The reason I start with 30% but then multiply by 125% (instead of 25%) is because obviously doing so would decrease the %, not increase it.
i am gonna use this build when i complete the game and be a fire demon with red ghost armor with my choice of uncle shimura
that is old news man
Cant fight the Person to trigger the fire Talisman quest
I personally think the build is too OP, like many other builds in the game... I didn't see even one person saying this is underrated. I realised i have more fun engaging in longer combats and trying to even the odds without Gosaku's stagger damage or ghost armour's terrify. But that's just me. I can see the appeal of playing like this, you feel unstoppable
I went back to playing Gosaku and OMG I missed this build. The game is a lot more fun with this in my opinion.
monoespacial if you use the charm that knocks down enemies that are staggered + charm of fortune you just wreck everything
ashen straw hat location ??????
You get it from upgrading the ronin attire
That's one way to do math I guess....
Lol, I know, I messed up what I showed on screen
what sword kit is that?
It's called Midnight Hanabi
This is really fun to watch, but tbh I'd rather just switch the fire-related charms for stagger damage and just have a great all-rounder that can still wreck in a head-on sword fight.
Look at my profile picture you know why I’m here.
Bro you saying its Jin Dinasty Build but the Build is the Exact Opposite of his Clan Codex what Shit you Talking
