Thank you guys for being available. I feel real comfortable doing my build now.
Absolutely! Good luck with your build.
Thanks for this, I've been wondering for a week about the trim above the sliding door and framing out the rear door panels. Done and done!
really nice work.
Great honest Vlog...!🚐👏👏☘
I would like to see this for the Promaster and also what they look like with fabric on them. Thanks
I ordered your wall templates for a 2019 Sprinter 170. It looks like the wall panel goes behind the B pillar on the drivers side. Does the B pillar need to be trimmed? Or does it easily slide behind it?
Trimming it will give you a tighter fit. You dont have to though.
This is super helpful! It would be great if you could do something similar that describes some ways to attach your cabinet and shelf kits.
We leave it up to the end user how they want to install our cabinets. Every van is different and attachment methods are really dependent on the whole design.
thanks for the video, very helpful. You don't mention anything regarding replacing the factory headliner after the forward ceiling panel is installed. They seem to mount on the same ceiling cross member. Is there contention between the factory headliner plastic mounting "rivnuts" and the ceiling panel on the ceiling cross member that both are mounted to? Does the forward panel need to be cut out to allow the plastic "rivnuts" to fasten into their home and are they long enough now that the headliner is resting on the panel.
The factory headliner will remount on top of the new paneling. The plastic clips need to be removed and we recommend screws that will go through the headliner and paneling into the cross member.
Do you have any pics or videos on how did you finished that corner above the driver's seat and at the top of the rear doors frame?
We include a wood trim piece for above the rear doors. The spaces above the driver and passenger seat where the headliner is, you can use the stock mercedes foam blocks to fill. We are working on fiberglass pieces that will go in there.
What size, length self-tapping screws do you prefer? Thanks for the video!
3/4" Long
6s, 8s, or 10s screws?
I recently purchased this template kit. It does not seem that the both wheel well panels (F & K) from the Titan diagram are included in the template roll. Titan, can you confirm if the intent is that you use the K cut out for the F side also?
Yes, they are mirror images. We mark the one panel with both a F and a K. Use the one paper template to produce both panels.
@@TitanVans Many thanks, I guessed as much. But great to know for certain. Thank you.
Would love to see one specific to the promaster? How do you guys handle installing over the structural columns dividing the “front” and the back of the van? Also, it looks like your panels install flush on the walls, so what’s the clearance width after these are installed between the back walls? Some folks install on the inner curve of the back walls to gain that extra 1/2” but yours seem flush with the structural columns?
Would love more details and info specific to other models and at least some samples of customer installs or something. 👍🏻
Really wish you offered even some examples of how your teams have installed your cabinets, doesn’t need to be a full blown install tutorial but examples of them in place would be nice.
We are working on install guides and videos. We have panels specific to the Promaster and unlike the Sprinter the structural columns, those are exposed and the panels butt directly up against the sides. Panels are only 1/4" each so overall width is 1/2" less than factory.
Once you use the self tapping screws and attach the panels, can you pull them back down and drill the screw holes larger and install rivet nuts? Theoretically the panel holes should line up and then you could use threaded removable fasteners. Yes, no, maybe?
Certainly. Thats a great option.
That's a great idea!
If you were going to upholstery the walls and ceiling would you do it on the panels individually before, or wait until now when it's all in place?
We do it before we install the panels.
@@TitanVans perfect thanks, I guess you just need to cover up the screws heads.
@@bmurphy8501 You can, we leave them exposed, just a matter of personal preference. You can buy Dura Snap Upholstery screw caps to match your upholstery.
Do you pre-drill the self tapping screws? Thanks
Not for Sprinters, on the Transit you will likely have to.
How do you guys adhere the "tweed fabrics" on your finished vans we've seen on the channel? Is done directly on the sheetwood panels?
You can adhere directly to the panels if you want, certainly no problem with that. We use a thin closed cell foam backer first and then upholstery over the top. Both are adhered with a spray on contact cement.
@@TitanVans It looks sooo good man. Doubfult I'd ever get the fit/finish in a DIY of my own, but damn sure wanna try lol. Thanks for sharing the info. Inspiring content.
I'm installing your structural metal braces in a Transit, going in nicely but wondering how the tiny pieces for the extended body van are supposed to work. TR EL148-RC. Each side metal pieces are different. Passenger side has two tabs I riveted together and didn't use TR 148 RC, but the driver side only has one tab. Not seeing how the TR EL 148 RC tab goes in...... It does need support, little weak and little off kilter between the two pieces TR148 DR and TR148 EL DR, thx. I also have you templates haven't started that yet but looks nice. This video helps to see your design, would like to see a Ford.
Reached out to our engineering to get you an answer, we will get you info soon! You can also email expert@titandiykits.com if you ever have additional questions
You should have received an email with some additional details. Hope this helps!
@@TitanVans I did thanks!! Love the quick and personal support. And love the products, I got the wall/ceiling templates too.
@@robingee8195 Absolutely! Happy to help, keep us posted on the paneling and good luck with your build.
Could you share the angle the wood blocks for the rear windows are cut?
Great question, 15 degrees.
@@TitanVans thanks so much for sharing! I was having a heck of a time measuring and was going to start just sawing blocks at different angles until I got it right!
Trimming out windows on the cargo and drivers side please.
Yes please!
Are they pre made,if so where can I buy them?
Titandiykits.com
I am assuming the pre-wiring has already been done?
Depends on how you plan to do your build. You can run wires behind the wall paneling but some people choose to run wiring inside of cabinets and on the inside of the paneling for easier install. It is much cleaner to run behind the walls.
@@TitanVans I can imagine a little of both methods could be effective. thank you!
@@Bellasafari Certainly! We run most wires behind the walls but certainly have interior wiring inside cabinets.
Ceiling first ? Or walls...? I don’t think it was specified ......( have heard some say ceiling, others do the walls first )
Definitely ceiling first! 👍
@@TitanVans just ordered your plywood kit wall panel for my 2022 144! Was curious to know if the flooring option, which i ordered, is intended to install first, under the wall panels, or after the wall panels are in? So ceiling first, then floor, then walls, or...? Thx!
@@Wino33 Congrats, yes floor first, then ceiling, and then the walls. Also, if you ordered our structural kit make sure to install that first before any paneling.
Are these panels breathable?
They are made of wood.
self-tapping screws
i adore ur shower, wish u have DIY shower kit
I bet if you're using screws like that and piecing the metal, since there's now a raw hole without paint, it will probably be prone to rusting, especially given the high moisture environment when living in these things...I'd go with an industrial grade adhesive....I mean, hyundai uses 40% adhesive in their cars...
It's important to be able to remove panels for serviceability. You may want to use industrial strength hook and loop. We would not recommend gluing panels in.
Full tutorial :D nice Click Bait
Not a "Full Tutorial" by any means, this is more like a "Demo Tutorial". It doesn't show anything about actually installing it, just shows what it looks like installed. Not very helpful unfortunately .
What information are you looking for?
"Full tutorial"😂😂😂
You are charging $45,000 and you don't even use rivet nuts!?!? You do understand that by using self tapping screws, the metal in the van will start rusting! But once the 3 year warranty runs out, its no longer your problem. 🤷♂
This used to be the procedure for strictly our DIY panel sets. We've gone through multiple different iterations of this product since this video was made. Many procedures for our DIY products are designed to be more friendly for those who may not have access to the tools, space, and knowledge that our production team has.
