I was lucky enough to have met and be able to be around " The First Lady of Country Music" and she was the most down to earth and sweet lady anyone could ever imagine, I still can't believe we lost her already 13 years ago!! She loved performing and she was great to me!! LF
Just such a SAD song. Must have really touched George's Heart. Oh My! Life sometimes just have to keep going on, with each other or without each other. So SAD!
The most gracious Lady. No wonder she was soo adored. I grew up listening to Tammy and George, as a couple, and Tammy solo. I saw Tammy in concert many yrs ago, and it truely all i thought it would and could be.. Her music will always live on, Thank you so much for posting, and alowing me to enjoy..
Her voice wasn't as strong at this point in her life but she still looked like a million bucks. Country music isn't the same without it's queen. The world misses you Tammy.
These lyrics are so heart wrenching and heartfelt. In spite of George's long term debilitating addictions that almost ruined his career, I think they never stopped loving each other, even after Tammy couldn't take it any longer, and felt compelled to leave him.
I've never been a big fan of Country music, but Tammy Wynette was always an exception. I'm one of her biggest fans. There was always "something" about her...and that VOICE!! I LOVE YOU TAMMY!!
The most beautiful hurtin' song ever written and who better to write or sing it that Tammy. Thank you for posting this. Awesome, awesome song and more than that the most awesome singer to ever sing a song.
What a genuine song, full of emotion and strength. She expressed some weakness in son, but with a real attitude of real human need. A strong person and fine entertainer. Bless her for that!!
alway's been my fave female country singer, I grew up listening to her as a child with my mom at the tobacco barn, looping tobacco on a stick....awesome singer!, wish she were still here with that one of a kind unique voice....miss u Tammy.
Beautiful Woman of Country Music!!! I was privleged to see her in concert in the early 1980's. I was a mere child and understood the soul and volume this wonderful lady possessed! Bless you Tammy and may your memory live forever in the hearts of many!
this first lady of country music has one of the most distinctive voices of country music, when she died country music lost a member of its royal family. It was a sad day in country music when tammy died, I went in mourning and played tammy's music all day and balled my eyes out all day
