- This is a nice little piece written in the style of Impressionism by William Gillock entitled Fountain in the Rain.
This was done with my new recording setup, using a Zoom H2 microphone over my piano instead of the microphone that's built into my camera. It took me about a million takes to get a decent recording, so here it is! It's not perfect, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!
I played this as a child and have not heard it in over 50 years. Thank you so much for taking me back.
Sounds beautiful ❤
I played this at one of my last piano recitals as a teenager and still have the sheet music of it. I can't believe I actually found a recording of it! Thanks so much for this.
I'm 12 and am playing this song! It is so beautiful! Thanks for posting this.
🎉
I’m 13 and I play this too, nice
That is really, really beautiful -- partly thanks to the nice trebly piano, which may be from its age.
I think this is exactly how Gillock meant for this piece to be played! Beautiful!
Wonderful! Love it. So much nicer than many who play it too fast.
Faster is better
Faster is sometimes better, sometimes worse… but almost always overrated.
This performance was very beautiful at this tempo!
wow i love the way you played so much!! It's really beautiful.
Bravo Sir,
A great performance of one of my favorite pieces to play. Excellent light touch and a lovely interpretation. I take dramatic pauses much like you did, feels right
Thank you! Yeah, I feel this piece needs some good rubato and things to keep the feeling right. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I have just started this piece and I can only dream I would be able to play it as beautifully as you did in this video.
Спасибо, замечательное исполнение !
Beautiful performance, I absolutely love this piece ❤
Learning to play this for the official CAL musical piano test! Ty for making this video to help me learn:)❤
I love it! I'm going to be playing this myself so I will look to this as an example : )
I am learning this piece right now and I listen to this for inspiration and to improve. You play beautifully
I’m learning this song right now and it’s really fun but pretty hard and new to me since it really jumps around the keyboard a lot! This is a really fun piece though and I hope that I’ll be able to at least play it with confidence, even if it’s not as good as how this guy played it! Also really good job to whoever played it, the speed was just right and the way he played it really made the song come to life!
Omg this song is so beautiful! Love it! 👍
Such a moving and captivating piece of music
Played this at my first recital. Oh such memories
I love music and play the piano
Wonderfoul sounds 🎹🎶
Fascinating. I have just found this incredible compositor. Beautiful
The inspiration of impressionism, as you mentioned, but especially that of Ravel's Jeux D'eau, is very obvious.
This makes me very nostalgic. I used to play this song all the time ❤️
This IS the best redition of Gilliok i have found!!! could you make a tutorial?
Nice job, I love this piece! My student is going to play it. I'm going to share your video as an example =) Also, I do tutorials and have thought about doing this piece, perhaps I might now!
Thank you! I have actually thought of doing a tutorial for this piece as well, as someone requested it. I just haven't gotten around to it as I've been so busy, but maybe in the future!
Thank you very much! I would love to make a tutorial. Is there anything specific you'd like me to cover in it? It may take me a bit as sometimes it's difficult for me to find time to record, but I'll get started on it.
Very very nice! You played with great feeling too. I only played one piece from this guy, the Moonlight Mood one and I think it's from the same collection that you're playing. I should run to the music store and buy the whole set. There's neat pieces in there like this one.
this one is also amazing Fountain in the Rain - by Jay Vankawala. Eli Whitney Hall, Yale, New Haven CT USA

I am learning this for a competition, how long do you think it will take until I can play this piece through correctly if I am only a beginner?
Kiley Kennedy i would’ve given it Atleast a month, how did it go?
Awesome! Anyone know where I can download the sheet music?
Wow, that's a great song! This is my contest song. Can I play this song? The teacher did it faster...ㅠㄴㅠ
