I really regret falling for Il Makiage's grandiose claims. I didn't even give it a wear test, it looked so bad upon application. Removed it immediately and back to Il Makiage it went.

I ordered it before I made it a habit of looking at RUclips reviews. You are lucky you saw Angie's experience with it before deciding to buy. I do have a difficult time finding foundations that look good and natural on my textured, porous, and now wrinkly skin. Even high quality, "luxury" foundations can look terrible on me. Il Makiage was spectacularly bad. I discovered cream and balm foundations work better for me. But thank goodness for the RUclipsrs like Angie who try these things out for us.

After years of not wearing makeup and recovering from a severe rosacea breakout/flare, I tried the Sephora Best Skin Ever Foundation and I love it! I set it with a little Honest Beauty Powder and that keeps everything looking good! Thanks for your very detailed videos and always on point recommendations!
@@lesliehatch-herman9325 I would say…oily especially in the t-zone but… I also have dry patches of eczema so I would call it combo. My cystic acne is mostly under control but I still can get quite flushed. Had some laser treatments to reduce the purple veins and I have to say I’m not unhappy with my skin! Wish I could calm the redness a bit but it’s honestly way better than before. Tinted sunscreen works amazing.

My bad experience with Il Makiage is what led me to you! I caved to the social media hype and ordered the foundation and concealer about 2 months ago in preparation for my return to an office job. I’m 47, never been much of a makeup wearer, and my age is definitely showing. I really struggled with the makeup tutorials of 20 somethings and it finely dawned on me ‘maybe there are tutorials for 40 somethings???’ And there was ANGIE!! Thank goodness! I never knew I could be so picky with my makeup and skincare until I started watching these videos. Il Makiage is hands down the worst make up I’ve tried…all the same complaints that Angie had.
I fell for it also, luckily bought it at Sephora and was able to return this bottle of pure yuck. I hate to say it, but the best has been La mer. I saved for over a year and it has been worth it. The other is Hudas Glowish, that one is Gorgeous. For a Full Coverage, primer wise I use the Cloud primer which I think is by Nyx. Foundation is Loreal Freshwear. Thin thin consistency but perfect full Coverage. Does not go in lines and wrinkles. Even if I add Sunblock under and no actual Primer, same result. it cosmetics same thing, cc cream spf 50 in the one with a bit of glow to it. I just add a bit of powder to areas that need setting ( wherr I use cream products from Rcma like cream contour or blush etc) set those the rest I leave alone.

You can’t tell me that “Angie Hot and Flashy” hasn’t had work done! It’s so obvious! She goes on about a couple sunspots? She has normal very minuscule so called wrinkles?! It’s laughable …..No one at 59 is that flawless without certain enhancements shall we say…..no amount of expensive cosmetics and products will make your skin look like a 35 yr old…….However the joke is on how stupid the average woman is believing there’s some ability to maintain perfection forever….Imagine having to assess your face constantly to see if a new wrinkle formed…good heavens!
“That is not making me happy” that is a true statement about this foundation and any makeup for that matter. Makeup should make us feel happy and work WITH what we got (skin, wrinkles, dark spots, etc), not against us! Jeez….what a nightmare of foundation. Thank you Angie for this review. Hugs! 🤗
Agree! I teach my clients to skip the foundations and concealers and just do the color and mascara. You can make your skin better and slathering it with makeup only ages your skin. The best foundation is healthy glowing skin. Blessings 🙌🏻🍑Lisa
If you watch the ads closely, you'll see that the models are very young, with no lines or wrinkles or sagging bags, and they always start their 10 second demo by applying it to nice full, smooth cheeks. Ok. But who really has skin like that over 25?
I tried the R and R ‘undefined’ it has a certain something, don’t know what that is, but it smells. Lol. Just a warning. It reminds me of the Illia that was a disaster.

So glad to see this! I'm 43 and I think my skin is pretty good for my age with minimal lines. I tried 2 different types of this foundation and it was just terrible. I couldn't get it to blend into my skin and it looked like a mask. It was wven hard to spread and oxidize badly. Nothing seemed to work with it. You used so many of the phrases I already used to describe this foundation.
I bought this foundation about 2 years ago and it is the worst foundation I have ever used. I'm glad I saw this review because I thought it was just me. Thank you so much for this honest review. I now feel comfortable enough to throw the bottle away.
Same here. I thought it was just me that couldn’t get on with it. Essentially we shouldn’t have to keep trying different primers and setting products to get the correct combination for any foundation.

This is my absolute favorite foundation. I'm 44 and it works great for my mature combo skin. I get a lot of compliments when wearing it. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you ❤
I had a lot of the same issues when I tried this foundation BUT... Then I was sent the Il Makiage primer. This changed everything. Using the primer caused the foundation to spread and blend smoothly. Also, using the primer prevented crease and pore settling. Also, I did use my Cetaphil moisturizer under the primer.
I've been wondering about this foundation. Thanks for the review-- I think I'll skip this one, but will definitely try the one from Sephora that you like so well! 😊
Oh my God thank you so much for your videos! I just saw an ad for this foundation and was about to try it out- who wouldn’t with the shade matcher right? I’ve rarely seen you not look amazing but man you were right about this! It looks awful in every way possible! And not just the settling but the break apart look- like little patches of it fell off. I had decided to see if you had tried it before I hit that buy button, and you made my mind up! I know everyone’s skin is different and things work differently for people but this was so extremely extreme how bad it was! So thanks!

@@carolray5166Jones Road is meant then a natural finish product line. It’s not market for coverage, but to enhance a natural look. I like it a lot, but I don’t wear makeup daily (I do wear tinted sunscreen) and Jones Rd Miracle Balm is my favorite of this collection. It’s not for everyone. It is so nice, I think, to have many options for product opacity and pigmentation. I do like reading others’ thoughts on products that I like, love, dislike, loathe, lol. For me, and I know we don’t all think/feel the same: the older I get, the more natural finish I love. Which is kind is weird, by some standards. Funny that I do not often wear full face makeup, but I do not leave the house without sunscreen, lipstick, and mascara.
Despite the fact that the product was terrible, all the close up shots show that you have amazing skin. Wow! A true testament to what a consistent skin care routine can do. Amazing!

I bought it and was disappointed too with the wrinkling. I’m 42 so maybe it’s great for the young…the match for me was perfect so it was a huge disappointment. My skin is fair and I’m always having to combine multiple foundations to get the color I need. This one matched but made my wrinkles and pores look worse. $60 down the drain.
I can't think you enough for test driving this and all the other foundations. You've probably saved me hundreds of dollars and a whole lotta heartache.

I use 1 pump for my whole face and neck. I love this foundation. Sometimes for summer, I’ll put some on my hand, put some setting spray on my face and apply. Then it is more like 1/2 pump. It never settles. I don’t use a primer. Sponge is best and work fast lol. I love this stuff
@@morganmckibbon4241 under eyes are dry. Oily-ish U zone and normal cheeks. Fine crows feet and smile lines. I use sunscreen underneath always. Usually something light like Lagom, missha or anything Korean for summer and heavier Asian sunscreens when it is colder.
I’m over 60 and this foundation works well for me. The color match was good and I don’t notice it settling into any wrinkles. I’ll have to look more closely. I use Cetaphil moisturizer with sunscreen underneath and no primer. I had better luck with a foundation brush than with a sponge. Angie, you still look great no matter what!
@@annabeltheduchessofdessert7700 I think the key is your face has to me moisturized but not greasy. And a little goes a long way. This is like full coverage and I use the IT foundation brush. One area at a time and I work kind fast. Also, if you mix with a little moisturizer that helps
@@C1nderfire I use an IT foundation brush also, and I found that it’s important to make sure it’s all blended. I was quite streaky one day when I wasn’t thorough. I really like the coverage and the shade match. I’ll definitely be taking a look at it later in the day to see how it wears/settles.
I also hated Il Makiage! I sent it back! I’ve tried sooooo many foundations, and finally found the perfect one for me! Dior Forever skin Glow! I love it! I’m 70 years old, and don’t even want to try any more foundations! Thank you! I love all the info you share with us!
I’ve been trying this foundation for a few weeks now. I’m 54 with few wrinkles but lots of redness as I have rosacea., as well as some hyperpigmentation in some spots. I was looking for something to cover my redness all day. The first shade was way too yellow for my skin and they sent me a new shade telling me to keep or gift the first one. The second shade is a better match, but I do have some of the issues you had with oxidation and some settling. I have to say it DOES cover my redness and hyperpigmentation well and I DO like their primer. The foundation seems to work better with it. So far, Il Makiage is the best I’ve tried, but I am going to try the Sephora foundation you mentioned. Thank you for this honest review!
I've been using their concealer for a year, have repurchased and it's amazing for me- perfect colour, covers my broken veins and sunspots and lasts all day. I'm 62, don't use foundation all over, just the concealer where I need it .

Yup, it works for me. I think it just depends on the products you use in conjunction with the foundation. I understand it doesn’t work for some people but this one actually stays on me all day!!! I don’t usually have to touch up. It just depends on the weather

Thanks for this review Angie! I tried Il Makiage last year based on all those promises on social, who wouldn't give it a try? I tried 4 shades and gave it. One bottle was shipped to me completely broken (and the shade was still wrong). The customer service really tried to work withe me on the color, but they did not listen to me about the oxidation problems (boy did it turn orange quickly). Once I made an issue of it really not being for mature skin, they insisted that it is for all skin types and ages. I asked them what about the pore enhancement, the wrinkle settling, and the shift after 2 hours and they flat out said their product "never" does that. They refused my final return as I did not include every single piece of original wrapping in the return box, (a gimmick that probably works on a lot of people not getting their refund). This is clearly NOT for mature skin. The color match is not accurate, and the full refund only when ALL packing materials come back is a gimmick to refuse your return.

I fell for the ad that kept popping up on my feed a few months ago. Totally agree, this is really not worth it! Not a perfect color match, doesn’t wear well. Shiny on my T-zone, cakey elsewhere, wears off in places… yuk! I feel better knowing it’s not only my skin that’s at fault! 😅 Thanks for the honest review Angie 😘
Try using it as a mixer for light coverage foundations when you need a bit more coverage. It’s not great on it’s own for me, but mixes well with something like the L’Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum. Just a thought.

I got this makeup maybe a year ago and I was in love with it because it matches my skin sooo well and I'm pale, so I'm a hard match. It sinks into my wrinkles (I'm only 28) and it creases and comes off patchy. I didn't think it was the foundation's fault because I'm new to makeup and figured it was my methods or my cheap drugstore primer. I came across this video today and this makes me so happy that it may just be my foundation! I wanted it to work because the color match was so good, but maybe I need to visit an Ulta and be shade matched for some better foundation. Now I just need to try to figure out which one to get... I don't want to spend a bunch of money on foundations that don't work, so I'll be doing some research on your channel!

Like others here have said, I thought it was just me. I hated this makeup. I wanted to like it, but it made me look horrible. I even felt bad because their customer service dept was more than willing to have me try different shades and wanted to keep following up with me but it was just so bad. You get bonus points for leaving it on all day, I couldn’t even do that, it was so bad!

I don’t understand all the negative comments about this product. I just bought it and the shade was spot on. I like light to medium coverage so it worked out really well. I usually mix a little bit on my hand with my moisturizer and apply it. Looks beautiful! Just what I was looking for in a foundation.
It definitely does not provide light-to-medium coverage. Even in the ads, it’s full coverage. Maybe it works for you, and maybe your shade was spot on…but it’s definitely not light-to-medium coverage.
I must be the only reviewer here who loves this foundation. I’m 49, normal skin, working with a rep emailing back and forth I was matched with the perfect color foundation. I have been using it going on 2 years and I absolutely love ❤️ it! So sorry it’s not for you.

Was tempted to get this a few weeks ago but something didn't feel right about it to me so decided against and got a lancome teint idole foundation instead and I love it.
I did the free test, too. The color match was spot on for me, but the concealer and foundation sat in every line and wrinkle. I tested their primer, concealer and foundation. I really wanted to like them but they were a no go.
I love that you encourage the use of sun screen. Since the menopause I have developed horrible sun damage/age spots which are difficult to cover without looking cackey . I’ve now resorted to laser treatment which is definitely working, but there are no guarantees. I’ve learned the hard way.
This reminds me of my own embarrassing out in public foundation moment. I tried the Milani Conceal & Perfect a few years ago. I put it on for the first time right before work, it looked great at first, but by lunchtime I was orange! Like super super orange!! Even one of the guys, who never notices anything and walks around with his head down focused 100% on his task, did a double take 🙈 I never tried new face products before work again 😂

Oh my goodness, Angie, I had the same experience over a year ago, as I remember they had a great customer service - they even sent it to me for free, just paying S&H and they exchanged the first color sent, the packing and presentation were impressive with fast shipping. The first ever foundation that I hated so much I trashed. Too bad when so much marketing investment is done around a poor quality product. ;-(
I've been thinking about trying it. So glad I saw this before because I am definitely not ordering it now. Most of your recommendations have been spot on for me.
I am using my first bottle at the moment and absolutely love love love it , im 47 and have fine lines coming in, dry skin and some large pores.. The shade is perfect, it lasts all day and looks fresh, I found waiting 5 minutes is perfect but it is important to remember less is more and to wait the 5minutes to put another layer on. The only negative is that it smells quite chemically. I will say that Charlotte Tilsbury air brush foundation is still my favourite

I stayed with a friend (early 20s) recently and noticed this in her bathroom. I’d seen the ads and asked her about it, and she said it was super dry looking. For her to say this is a *huge* red flag because her skin is truly flawless - no texture. I’d forgot about it since then!

Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only one who hated this foundation! My friend raved about it and pestered me relentlessly until I tried it about a year ago. I had the same exact issues that you had! I was very careful and I’m gentle with applying my makeup, yet the foundation STILL seemed to remove when I applied blush/contour/highlight. Very patchy and separated. It settled into lines that I didn’t even know I had. (Gee thanks, Il Makiage.😐) I have seriously had $10 foundations look and perform MUCH better than Il Yuckiage”…as I’ve dubbed it.🤣 My friend was so disappointed that I hated it. I tried to like it, I really did. I also have always insisted that foundation…any base products really, are very individual dependent. What may look terrible on me may look fabulous on someone else. Vice versa. I’m honestly wondering if Il Makiage looks good on anyone. I really started to notice my friend’s makeup after my experience. First, she really applies a TRUCK-LOAD of the foundation. I watched her apply it and thought “Woah!” (Four pumps!😳) Then I really noticed how it settled and cracked in her lines. AnyHOO, I just smiled and gave her my bottle of Il Makiage since she loves it so much. I’m a bit darker shade than her but figured she could use it for Summer. I could’ve sent it back but wasn’t in the mood to hassle with it. Plus, it made my friend happy. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll stick to my tried and true every day L’Oréal foundations. I have three formulas by them that I just love. The classic True Match, Infallible Pro-Glow and Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Serum Foundation. 💗

I really regret falling for Il Makiage's grandiose claims. I didn't even give it a wear test, it looked so bad upon application. Removed it immediately and back to Il Makiage it went.

I ordered it before I made it a habit of looking at RUclips reviews. You are lucky you saw Angie's experience with it before deciding to buy. I do have a difficult time finding foundations that look good and natural on my textured, porous, and now wrinkly skin. Even high quality, "luxury" foundations can look terrible on me. Il Makiage was spectacularly bad. I discovered cream and balm foundations work better for me. But thank goodness for the RUclipsrs like Angie who try these things out for us.

After years of not wearing makeup and recovering from a severe rosacea breakout/flare, I tried the Sephora Best Skin Ever Foundation and I love it! I set it with a little Honest Beauty Powder and that keeps everything looking good! Thanks for your very detailed videos and always on point recommendations!

@@lesliehatch-herman9325 I would say…oily especially in the t-zone but… I also have dry patches of eczema so I would call it combo. My cystic acne is mostly under control but I still can get quite flushed. Had some laser treatments to reduce the purple veins and I have to say I’m not unhappy with my skin! Wish I could calm the redness a bit but it’s honestly way better than before. Tinted sunscreen works amazing.

My bad experience with Il Makiage is what led me to you! I caved to the social media hype and ordered the foundation and concealer about 2 months ago in preparation for my return to an office job. I’m 47, never been much of a makeup wearer, and my age is definitely showing. I really struggled with the makeup tutorials of 20 somethings and it finely dawned on me ‘maybe there are tutorials for 40 somethings???’ And there was ANGIE!! Thank goodness! I never knew I could be so picky with my makeup and skincare until I started watching these videos. Il Makiage is hands down the worst make up I’ve tried…all the same complaints that Angie had.
I don't even consider it being picky... it's more that lots of it just doesn't work on skin that's not perfect!
I fell for it also, luckily bought it at Sephora and was able to return this bottle of pure yuck.
I hate to say it, but the best has been La mer. I saved for over a year and it has been worth it.
The other is Hudas Glowish, that one is Gorgeous.
For a Full Coverage, primer wise I use the Cloud primer which I think is by Nyx. Foundation is Loreal Freshwear. Thin thin consistency but perfect full Coverage. Does not go in lines and wrinkles. Even if I add Sunblock under and no actual Primer, same result.
it cosmetics same thing, cc cream spf 50 in the one with a bit of glow to it. I just add a bit of powder to areas that need setting ( wherr I use cream products from Rcma like cream contour or blush etc) set those the rest I leave alone.

You can’t tell me that “Angie Hot and Flashy” hasn’t had work done! It’s so obvious! She goes on about a couple sunspots? She has normal very minuscule so called wrinkles?! It’s laughable …..No one at 59 is that flawless without certain enhancements shall we say…..no amount of expensive cosmetics and products will make your skin look like a 35 yr old…….However the joke is on how stupid the average woman is believing there’s some ability to maintain perfection forever….Imagine having to assess your face constantly to see if a new wrinkle formed…good heavens!
“That is not making me happy” that is a true statement about this foundation and any makeup for that matter. Makeup should make us feel happy and work WITH what we got (skin, wrinkles, dark spots, etc), not against us! Jeez….what a nightmare of foundation. Thank you Angie for this review. Hugs! 🤗
Agree! I teach my clients to skip the foundations and concealers and just do the color and mascara. You can make your skin better and slathering it with makeup only ages your skin. The best foundation is healthy glowing skin.

If you watch the ads closely, you'll see that the models are very young, with no lines or wrinkles or sagging bags, and they always start their 10 second demo by applying it to nice full, smooth cheeks. Ok. But who really has skin like that over 25?
I tried the R and R ‘undefined’ it has a certain something, don’t know what that is, but it smells. Lol. Just a warning. It reminds me of the Illia that was a disaster.

So glad to see this! I'm 43 and I think my skin is pretty good for my age with minimal lines. I tried 2 different types of this foundation and it was just terrible. I couldn't get it to blend into my skin and it looked like a mask. It was wven hard to spread and oxidize badly. Nothing seemed to work with it. You used so many of the phrases I already used to describe this foundation.
I bought this foundation about 2 years ago and it is the worst foundation I have ever used. I'm glad I saw this review because I thought it was just me. Thank you so much for this honest review. I now feel comfortable enough to throw the bottle away.

Same here. I thought it was just me that couldn’t get on with it. Essentially we shouldn’t have to keep trying different primers and setting products to get the correct combination for any foundation.

This is my absolute favorite foundation. I'm 44 and it works great for my mature combo skin. I get a lot of compliments when wearing it. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you ❤

I had a lot of the same issues when I tried this foundation BUT... Then I was sent the Il Makiage primer. This changed everything. Using the primer caused the foundation to spread and blend smoothly. Also, using the primer prevented crease and pore settling. Also, I did use my Cetaphil moisturizer under the primer.
I've been wondering about this foundation. Thanks for the review-- I think I'll skip this one, but will definitely try the one from Sephora that you like so well! 😊

I’ve rarely seen you not look amazing but man you were right about this! It looks awful in every way possible! And not just the settling but the break apart look- like little patches of it fell off. I like it a lot, but I don’t wear makeup daily (I do wear tinted sunscreen) and Jones Rd Miracle Balm is my favorite of this collection.

I do like reading others’ thoughts on products that I like, love, dislike, loathe, lol.
For me, and I know we don’t all think/feel the same: the older I get, the more natural finish I love. Which is kind is weird, by some standards.

I bought it and was disappointed too with the wrinkling. I’m 42 so maybe it’s great for the young…the match for me was perfect so it was a huge disappointment. My skin is fair and I’m always having to combine multiple foundations to get the color I need. This one matched but made my wrinkles and pores look worse. $60 down the drain.
I can't think you enough for test driving this and all the other foundations. You've probably saved me hundreds of dollars and a whole lotta heartache.

I use 1 pump for my whole face and neck. I love this foundation. Sometimes for summer, I’ll put some on my hand, put some setting spray on my face and apply. Then it is more like 1/2 pump. It never settles. I don’t use a primer. Sponge is best and work fast lol. I love this stuff
What kind of skin do you have? Do you use a sunscreen underneath?
@@morganmckibbon4241 under eyes are dry. Oily-ish U zone and normal cheeks. Fine crows feet and smile lines. I use sunscreen underneath always. Usually something light like Lagom, missha or anything Korean for summer and heavier Asian sunscreens when it is colder.
I’m over 60 and this foundation works well for me. The color match was good and I don’t notice it settling into any wrinkles. I’ll have to look more closely. I use Cetaphil moisturizer with sunscreen underneath and no primer. I had better luck with a foundation brush than with a sponge. Angie, you still look great no matter what!
@@annabeltheduchessofdessert7700 I think the key is your face has to me moisturized but not greasy. And a little goes a long way. This is like full coverage and I use the IT foundation brush. One area at a time and I work kind fast. Also, if you mix with a little moisturizer that helps
@@C1nderfire I use an IT foundation brush also, and I found that it’s important to make sure it’s all blended. I was quite streaky one day when I wasn’t thorough. I really like the coverage and the shade match. I’ll definitely be taking a look at it later in the day to see how it wears/settles.
I also hated Il Makiage! I sent it back! I’ve tried sooooo many foundations, and finally found the perfect one for me! Dior Forever skin Glow! I love it! I’m 70 years old, and don’t even want to try any more foundations! Thank you! I love all the info you share with us!
I’ve been trying this foundation for a few weeks now. I’m 54 with few wrinkles but lots of redness as I have rosacea., as well as some hyperpigmentation in some spots. I was looking for something to cover my redness all day. The first shade was way too yellow for my skin and they sent me a new shade telling me to keep or gift the first one. The second shade is a better match, but I do have some of the issues you had with oxidation and some settling. I have to say it DOES cover my redness and hyperpigmentation well and I DO like their primer. The foundation seems to work better with it. So far, Il Makiage is the best I’ve tried, but I am going to try the Sephora foundation you mentioned. Thank you for this honest review!
I've been using their concealer for a year, have repurchased and it's amazing for me- perfect colour, covers my broken veins and sunspots and lasts all day. I'm 62, don't use foundation all over, just the concealer where I need it .

Yup, it works for me. I think it just depends on the products you use in conjunction with the foundation. I understand it doesn’t work for some people but this one actually stays on me all day!!! I don’t usually have to touch up. It just depends on the weather

Thanks for this review Angie! I tried Il Makiage last year based on all those promises on social, who wouldn't give it a try? I tried 4 shades and gave it. One bottle was shipped to me completely broken (and the shade was still wrong). The customer service really tried to work withe me on the color, but they did not listen to me about the oxidation problems (boy did it turn orange quickly). Once I made an issue of it really not being for mature skin, they insisted that it is for all skin types and ages. I asked them what about the pore enhancement, the wrinkle settling, and the shift after 2 hours and they flat out said their product "never" does that. They refused my final return as I did not include every single piece of original wrapping in the return box, (a gimmick that probably works on a lot of people not getting their refund). This is clearly NOT for mature skin. The color match is not accurate, and the full refund only when ALL packing materials come back is a gimmick to refuse your return.

I fell for the ad that kept popping up on my feed a few months ago. Totally agree, this is really not worth it! Not a perfect color match, doesn’t wear well. Shiny on my T-zone, cakey elsewhere, wears off in places… yuk! I feel better knowing it’s not only my skin that’s at fault! 😅 Thanks for the honest review Angie 😘
Try using it as a mixer for light coverage foundations when you need a bit more coverage. It’s not great on it’s own for me, but mixes well with something like the L’Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum. Just a thought.
And that is why I will only try foundations you love!

I did the try before you buy. I was impressed with the shade match and I was actually very impressed with this foundation.
I got this makeup maybe a year ago and I was in love with it because it matches my skin sooo well and I'm pale, so I'm a hard match. It sinks into my wrinkles (I'm only 28) and it creases and comes off patchy. I didn't think it was the foundation's fault because I'm new to makeup and figured it was my methods or my cheap drugstore primer. I came across this video today and this makes me so happy that it may just be my foundation! I wanted it to work because the color match was so good, but maybe I need to visit an Ulta and be shade matched for some better foundation. Now I just need to try to figure out which one to get... I don't want to spend a bunch of money on foundations that don't work, so I'll be doing some research on your channel!

Like others here have said, I thought it was just me. I hated this makeup. I wanted to like it, but it made me look horrible. I even felt bad because their customer service dept was more than willing to have me try different shades and wanted to keep following up with me but it was just so bad. You get bonus points for leaving it on all day, I couldn’t even do that, it was so bad!

I don’t understand all the negative comments about this product. I just bought it and the shade was spot on. I like light to medium coverage so it worked out really well. I usually mix a little bit on my hand with my moisturizer and apply it. Looks beautiful! Just what I was looking for in a foundation.
It definitely does not provide light-to-medium coverage. Even in the ads, it’s full coverage. Maybe it works for you, and maybe your shade was spot on…but it’s definitely not light-to-medium coverage.
I must be the only reviewer here who loves this foundation. I’m 49, normal skin, working with a rep emailing back and forth I was matched with the perfect color foundation. I have been using it going on 2 years and I absolutely love ❤️ it!

Was tempted to get this a few weeks ago but something didn't feel right about it to me so decided against and got a lancome teint idole foundation instead and I love it.

I did the free test, too. The color match was spot on for me, but the concealer and foundation sat in every line and wrinkle. I tested their primer, concealer and foundation. I really wanted to like them but they were a no go.

I love that you encourage the use of sun screen. Since the menopause I have developed horrible sun damage/age spots which are difficult to cover without looking cackey . I’ve now resorted to laser treatment which is definitely working, but there are no guarantees. I’ve learned the hard way.
This reminds me of my own embarrassing out in public foundation moment. I tried the Milani Conceal & Perfect a few years ago. I put it on for the first time right before work, it looked great at first, but by lunchtime I was orange! Like super super orange!! Even one of the guys, who never notices anything and walks around with his head down focused 100% on his task, did a double take 🙈 I never tried new face products before work again 😂

Oh my goodness, Angie, I had the same experience over a year ago, as I remember they had a great customer service - they even sent it to me for free, just paying S&H and they exchanged the first color sent, the packing and presentation were impressive with fast shipping. The first ever foundation that I hated so much I trashed. Too bad when so much marketing investment is done around a poor quality product. ;-(

I am using my first bottle at the moment and absolutely love love love it , im 47 and have fine lines coming in, dry skin and some large pores.. The shade is perfect, it lasts all day and looks fresh, I found waiting 5 minutes is perfect but it is important to remember less is more and to wait the 5minutes to put another layer on. The only negative is that it smells quite chemically. I will say that Charlotte Tilsbury air brush foundation is still my favourite

I stayed with a friend (early 20s) recently and noticed this in her bathroom. I’d seen the ads and asked her about it, and she said it was super dry looking. For her to say this is a *huge* red flag because her skin is truly flawless - no texture. I’d forgot about it since then!

I’m 42 and this foundation was the worst on me too! I hated it! Settling and dry patches all over my face. No matter how much I moisturized. I have combo skin btw…normal/dry cheeks and oily t-zone.

Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only one who hated this foundation! My friend raved about it and pestered me relentlessly until I tried it about a year ago.
I had the same exact issues that you had! I was very careful and I’m gentle with applying my makeup, yet the foundation STILL seemed to remove when I applied blush/contour/highlight. Very patchy and separated. It settled into lines that I didn’t even know I had. (Gee thanks, Il Makiage.😐)
I have seriously had $10 foundations look and perform MUCH better than Il Yuckiage”…as I’ve dubbed it.🤣
My friend was so disappointed that I hated it. I tried to like it, I really did. I also have always insisted that foundation…any base products really, are very individual dependent. What may look terrible on me may look fabulous on someone else. Vice versa. I’m honestly wondering if Il Makiage looks good on anyone. I really started to notice my friend’s makeup after my experience. First, she really applies a TRUCK-LOAD of the foundation. I watched her apply it and thought “Woah!” (Four pumps!😳) Then I really noticed how it settled and cracked in her lines.
AnyHOO, I just smiled and gave her my bottle of Il Makiage since she loves it so much. I’m a bit darker shade than her but figured she could use it for Summer. I could’ve sent it back but wasn’t in the mood to hassle with it. Plus, it made my friend happy. 🤷🏻♀️
I’ll stick to my tried and true every day L’Oréal foundations. I have three formulas by them that I just love. The classic True Match, Infallible Pro-Glow and Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Serum Foundation. 💗
Thanks for your time and details on the review, I always think that in your 20th almost any make up or foundation will work well, youth is a big helper. The real challenge is when you apply them on more mature people.

I've just turned 50 and I've obviously started to struggle with changing skin. You look great by the way... I kept seeing these ads for Il Makiage foundation so often last year. It looked impressive. Your honest take and sheer disappointment in this foundation had me in stiches. You saved me alot of money.
