I love this clip!! Even 21 years later it still gives me goosebumps to watch ATWT appreciated for their creative and hard working writing team. ATWT was so ectastic that evening... The chemistry and magic between Chris Goutman, the writers, the producers, the cast and staff was evident and so special. Even the opening music was amazing and we were so proud to see the show win the award and finally honored, and rightfully recognized. CBS/Procter and Gamble still refuse to admit cancelling this program was a mistake.
Hogan is one of my all-time favorite head writers in soaps. He came in as a playwrite who hardly knew a thing about soaps I think and was able to buy ATWT time for another 5 more years bc it was hanging on by a thread in the genre. Once Hogan left the show it never got a good footing again IMO. No Hogan was Douglas Marland but restored a since of watchablity back in the show.
ATWT's first win for writing? What a joke? They obviously just like the stupid and boring Y&R and B&B crap lol. ATWT is the best soap there ever was. The last years were not as strong (after 2006) but before that it rocked. Quite realistic (for a soap) and the pace of the show was so much better than the other soaps.

It is crazy that this was ATWT's first ever win for writing. Douglas Marland ought to have won many times during his 8 years as headwriter!
Amen. Douglas Marland was the supreme infinity best.
Really sad to heard that Hogan Sheffer passed away.He is a amazing headwriter on ATWTs and Y&R.He will be missed.
He wrote for Days for a short time, as well. And yes, he is strongly missed.
I'm stunned that Douglas Marland never won a writing Emmy for ATWT.
Crime

Happy for ATWT, hoping for Y&R to win that!!!! Does anyone have a video of Y&R winning Directing that year?
R.I.P. Hogan Sheffer
Does anyone know who the presenter/announcer was for the Writing Team Award in 2001? He had an awesome almost New Zealand like accent...
Ingo Rademacher from General Hospital.

Does anyone have the part where As the World Turns wins the outstanding drama
I've been asking that for years and no one's put it up yet
As much as I like Kay Alden as head writer for B&B currently, Brad Bell needs to sign on Hogan Sheffer. He's the best daytime drama writer, period!
Passion??? Are you kidding me
YAY for ATWT
Yep and oh yea for ATWT and I miss ATWT
Hogan is hilarious!
passions should have been nominated for the absolutely worst soap ever. why it was on as long as it was was ridiculous
I rather watch that than General Hospital.
THE WRITING TEAM OF PASSIONS, now there's a joke. they have the worse dialogue on daytime television.
Why was it even on tv
I was there ight
All my children was not robber at was best
