This group of legends laid the foundation. They unlocked so many doors to the actors we know today. They're the pioneers.

I've watched this over and over again. What a wonderful group of actors, especially the one and only Frances Reid. She will be dearly missed. I grew up watching this wonderful woman.

This is awesome. How sad that half of them have passed away.

Don Hastings is exactly like his character Dr. Bob Hughes. I have known him since the 1970's as I am good friends with his daughter. I moved to Ireland in the 1980's and every Summer he would vacation there with his Leslie would contact me and we would get together for dinner. It was very sweet that he would contact me and it meant a lot to visit with someone from home

Gosh, I haven't watched this video in quite a while, it really was something to see all those vets together on one stage getting their much deserved Lifetime Achievement awards. It's so sad that so many daytime soaps are off the air now but I love it that my girl Jeanne Cooper is still going strong! I just love Jeanne!

If the National Academy decides do to this thing again (gave the Lifetime Achievement Award to the Veterans of Soap), they should give it to Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott, Susan Lucci, Erika Slezak, Linda Dano, Susan Flannery, Elizabeth Hubbard, Suzanne Rogers, Deidre Hall, James Reynolds and Genie Francis to receive this honor! They work so many years, and give us some legendary characters and outstanding performances! I want to see this happening again soon! (P.S.: If I forgot another Soap Opera Veteran, forgive me please!! All the veterans in soaps deserve this honor!!)

But this 2023, Susan Lucci now receives the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributing legendary performance as her signature role on her career, Erica Kane on All My Children. She is the next soap opera legend to receive the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award after Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes from Days of our Lives still continuing their roles as Doug and Julie Horton.

I love to see the veterans. The shows could use so much history to link the present to the past. Days using old clips all the time. The other soaps should also.

You know what I would love for Helen Wagner (Nancy) do. Send a very special congratulatory message to Bill Roache who began playing Ken Barlow on Britian's Longest running Soap Opera Coronation St., debuting on Dec 9, 1960, and the rest they say is History, and while Helen is in the US Guiness Book Of World Records, Bill Roache is in the UK Version.

Your kidding, neither Eileen Fulton, Don Hastings, Rachel Ames, Ray McDonnell, Frances Reid, Helen Wagner, John Clarke, Ruth Warrick, Anna Lee(who passed away a week before the Emmys)and Jeanne Cooper never won an award, they're a group of talented actors.
Well, everyone was thrilled when Jeanne Cooper captured her first Lead Actress Emmy last year,

I feel the same way. I miss the soaps of old...when they focused on their central characters and SORAS was rare...or not as dramatic.

@sonaliegh I know what you mean. I live in Canada and I watch UK Soaps as well as British Soaps, and they never forget their past winners. One of the nicest tributes was to an Actor named Clive Hornby on a Soap called Emmerdale who died about 2 Years ago after playing Jack for 28 Years. What was so amazing was that he wasn't even the Original Jack. If you want to see how they differ type in Emmerdale Farm and you'll see the clips.

You know were it not for "Legal Issues" I would have loved for Don Hastings (Ex-Dr. Bob Hughes) go on Coronation Street and meet up with Ken Barlow. They were for a Hot Minute Pen Pals but lost touch with one another and since Bob's Daughter Sabrina lives in England, he could say he was visiting her. I also would have loved to have seen Nicola Roberts of the UK Girl Group Girls Aloud act on The Show as Bob & Kim's Granddaughter.

Can someone tell me if Mary Stuart ever received one of these awards? I know it's OT, but she was so talented also.
I really wish these shows would stay true...I guess they are trying to get the newer generation, but they lost the older generation...the generation who can actually sit at home and watch during those time slots...it's a shame.
