In zero build it is one of the most important items and if you get stuck behind a mountain and zone is coming ur basically dead (omg 2.5k likes!?!?!?!)

Or even in early to mid game when your fighting and the opponent gets you low you’re more likely to get further away from them if you shockwave rather than trying to grapple blade away

I still prefer to use it, its just fun to play with, its also good for crowd control, like separating teams because its sends them flying in different directions
It'd be good if it didn't leave you so vulnerable. The two hit combo that sends people flying takes so long to recover from. If you land the hit, then great, but if you whiff, you're dead. Still a great tool though.

That NPC at Rebels Roost doesn't sell Grapple Blades anymore.
The cars kind of make grapple blades pointless this season. Even if you're stuck at a mountain and storm is coming, a bike will usually get you out
You can easily buy one off an NPC either from Rebels Roost or Hazy Hillside
It's not so easy in a tournament, which is what is being talked about in the video.
You only have the gold you've received during the game, every game you start with 0. Grapple blade is 400 gold, it would take finding 800 gold between the duo in order for both of them to have one. 800 gold in one match isn't common

The grapple blade was a neat item, I can see some improvements with the weapon, but as it is right now. It's just a weaker grappling hook, which was already a weaker web slinger.

In zero build the grapple blade is actually good for combos

I always carry one because the third hit always sends enemies flying back (sometimes off of cliffs) and it is one of the only things aside from explosives that will damage through the ballistic shield

Go to rebels roost early, you’ll get the grapple blade from bot but it’s 400 gold and I earn an average of 250 so it’s hard to keep consistent. There’s also 3 slap barrels and a thingy downstairs that brings you to a house with up to 2 chest
In non competitive zero build lobbies no one knew how to deal with grapple blade close combat so if you have decent grapple spots you just zip around them a couple times and just slice them to bits, especially late game. Same with the Hades Whip in Chapter 5 Season 2, makes for some pretty nice kills if you're low on weapons
Grapple blades are amazing ways to kill people too, if you can time it right, you can slide kick someone, deal 20 damage by headshotting with the right click attack, and then pump in the head for 180
Someone killed me with one and I spectated and watched them win the whole game with it a month ago . Ever since I’ve been doing the same thing getting multiple wins 😂

Only applies to high level lobbies. While there is a chance it can glitch, my friend carries shockwaves if theres no grapple blade

Trying to use one will get you killed in anything below a silver I lobby

Ngl if ur fighting people without a shotgun, you can grapple on to em, aerial, ground melee attack, then they get knocked back and lose 140 hp. You can actually win without any weapons pretty well if ur playing casually. Ok yap session over

All I need to win is striker ar, frenzy auto, and a sniper and the rest is just heals or I like to carry shockwave grenades to get away from a tough battle

@sunkistisallittakesI play on switch and it still had bad recoil, it’s just a property of the weapon. You can fix that by adding an underbarrel
Don't forget when you land from the grapple and open you builds it just wants to swing the grapple blade around til you get beamed, and I've had it happen when I literally hit the button to pull my shotgun out 3 times
A lot of people didn't realize but they actually nerf the grapple blade and the riot shield mid-season because the stun and knock back cause by the grapple blade and riot shield were able to stuck lock players making it hard and in some cases impossible to fight back espicly in duos,trios and Squads. They also nurfed the stelth camo and made players alot more visible when their in stealth. The stealth camao pare with the mythic auto frenzy shotgun and either the tmnt and or grapple blades were a deadly combo.
just recently i found 2 like 10 meters apart and if you go to hazy hillside tunnel you can buy one for 400 gold or and rebels roost you can buy one from steelsight
those areas are heavily contested for a reason, this video is talking about pros and pros land those areas for that exact reason, and it’s not worth throwing your game off spawn to take the 50/50 in hopes of winning the poi
I love grapple blade bc it’s like a whip 💀
I miss the kinetic blade, the grapple blade is similar, where you can use the grapple to move yourself towards the target and use your blade to strike, but the kinetic blade knocks back your opponent quite significantly and you’re able to use the charge to chase them while they sort of disoriented. Also, the movement is more reliable on the kinetic blade.
Also, you can break through some barriers, I miss that 😂
For season 4 they should bring back the grapple blade, Hades chain, and nitro fists to have the ultimate quirky purple melee weapon face off

Literally my favorite weapon this season. I would say it’s a must for zero build, though some don’t usually care for it. In build I would say it’s a decent counter for build fighting if you’re okay with eating a few shotgun blasts to the head.
I'm almost certain that they turned the spawn rate of them up to like 20%. For the skin cup for that specific reason. They wanted to see a bunch of players in the sky for end game. Getting shot at by other players.
Rarity is a bad point when an npc sells them infinitely lol

I sincerely wish they kept the storm speed there was on day 1 of the season. My friends and I all died to storm so many times by not moving fast enough and engagements were extremely tight and felt fast paced.
I usually have a spray shotty sniper accessory (*grapple Shockwave clingers ext.*) and medkits. Because if you have medallions you don't necessarily need shield heals

Grappling onto someone, then doing slash combos and following up with an smg or shotgun if they are close, or an ar if you knocked them far away, is a good way to zap someone instantly in zero build
I legit just started playing Fortnite and I ain't gonna lie, the grapple blade has gotten me out of some pretty tight jams. As long as you know how to use it and don't go spam happy and get stuck waiting on the recharge. It is incredibly OP
For everyone, Take a burst SMG , A Shotgun , 1 heal item of your choice and Both Shockwaves and Grapple blade.
If you want a sniper then constantly collect shockwaves and Flow berries or Jar but everything else stays the same
Here’s my load out, rate it outta 10
1. Burst smg( if I get the mythic smg than I choose that)
2. Hammer pump shotgun(if I get peters I choose that)
3.Sharpshooter or Reaper Sniper
4. Grapple blade or shockwaves.
5.Minis or medkits
I like traversing with the grapple blade (god it looks weird without saying it).
It’s fun and it recharges over time which I find better than shockwaves sometimes cause, although they are useful and versatile as well, there’s only a limited amount you can hold before you run out. Plus the grapple blade makes you feel like a badass, especially up close with enemies and making them confused; sort of reminds me of the ODM Gear which I miss!

This also only applies to build mode. You need either a grapple blade or shockwaves for zero-build.
It is so critical if you are stuck on the downside of a mountain when zone is closing
I usually go sniper, shotgun, medkits, any shield that goes above 50, and shield breakers they are pretty easy to find and can make your fight go a lot quicker and u use less ammunition
keep one in Team Rumble or casual though because it has a decent range and the aerial + jab 1 + jab 2 in that order can kill most of the time
This is definitely not a priority in build, zero build the grapple creates a completely different dynamic
For my typical load out, I carry one close range, one long range, one heal item, one mobility, and something else for variety (probably an epic
We talking about builds though. In no builds, this item saved my ass many times over any of the other mobilities and whether thats just to rotate in small circles or just eliminating enemies cause i like how u can knock ppl back and when someone is on a higher platform i just hit them off and knock them
Spawn rates have been increased not just in chests but in the ground too (today my squad literally all had grapples right off the bat)
Makes sense for comp maybe but you have to have it in squads or be prepared to get left behind and get no kills
My load out
- Frenzy auto, hammer pump is too slow for me
-a grapple blade, does a lot of damage and usually only takes three or four strikes for a kill
-an eagle eye reaper sniper, a lot of damage and good scope
-three meds, obvious reasons
-six mini shields
Its calculated tha most higher ranked pros have only a shotgun and possibly another weapon, if if we are going off of "pros" then that last one doesn't matter
Grapple blades are great for mobility in high level lobbies, but can glitch sometimes. It's important to be prepared with shockwaves as a backup.

I prefer shockwaves with fizz, you get unrivaled movement especially in zero build
Also no one wining a heal off anytime soon. I tried to win one my first game of the season and found out the hard way what storm sickness is. I had at least 10 med packs and still died

As a fortnite noob i immediately noticed the benefit of using a grapple gun and switching to a shotgun over the hook blade
Nothing beats the grapple for close-contact battles.
I personally carry an AR, a shot gun, a sniper, a mobility item preferably a full stack of shockwave grenades, and some heals.
One way to get around that hard to find part is to go to the people who sell them. Usually what I do since it’s something hard to come across one intill you fight someone.
I clutched like 3 or 4 games with the grapple blade while playing trios w 2 dead teammates so i would say its pretty cracked

If the grapple blade was an 8 percent chance, then you need to open about 12.5 chests

Grapple blade is fun to use, its just the sweats you have to be worried about.
Remember, gaming is for fun and not for playing like your life depends on it.
It will only help you and heal us by freeing up inventory space for meds. As all it does is give shield
Grapple Blade also works for example on Loot Island, You can Destroy people and throw them into the void and make them die to Fall damage 😼

One of us carries meds, etc
Then the other carries shields
For grapple blades/movement:
One carries grapple blade
Another Carrie’s a tmnt
This doesn’t apply to zero build, this in fact one of the most important items for mobility😌
Idk grapple blades are helpful mainly cus they recharge so its like infinite mobility. Making sure to use it with good timing and positioning is hard sometimes but it’s still valid.
Don't forget about the broken snipers your just basically got to depend on the vehicles for movement
They should fix the heal of meta I think it just makes endgame a bit duller
Striker, frenzy, sniper, shocks. The last slot will depend, sometimes its blue fish, grapple, jar.
Fortnite sweats need that so every time they build Crazy like always and the noobs break the builds down if they built high so they don't fall from Full damage
Flowberry Fizz is the most disappointing heal item I can remember. This thing had the potential to be as useful as chug splashes or slap splashes.
Instead it takes 20 seconds to begin healing up.
It's crazy how the more "pro" you are at a game, the better you are at dominating other pros....but in fortnite, the higher the level, the more they do anything to not fight and take heal offs and laggy last zones with 40 people still alive 😂

In my opinion it's really good for end game and easier for rotation.
I used a grapple blade last night and got a disgusting win. Poor guy was behind a rock in final ring and we both panicked when I landed to try and heal from storm damage, and I just let loose with a shotgun.
Think it depends on player comfortability. Some ppl can clean teams with GBlade

People use it for transportation but I love using it for combat. I don’t play a lot, and I’m not very good, but I got like 10 kills a round using it
I use it to escape from battles and people attacking me when I’m low, I also use it to whip people
Perfect load out:
1. Ar
2. Shot gun
3. Sniper
4. Shockwaves
5. Med kits
Mind you the grapple hook counts as a shot everyone can see so it might not be best to use it in certain times
I feel sad knowing I’m the only one who doesn’t give a toss what the pros supposedly do and just want to have fun.
I always carry Sniper instead of AR because it acts like an AR as it does long range and it does more damage then for up close I’ll either use a shotgun or thunder smg
With the new MTNT mythics, it’s pretty easy to find mobility now.
Im a zero build ranked player. Its very important too have one if you dont have a car
Grapple blade is easily my favorite weapon of this season (behind the TMNT weapons)
They should make a 1/1 mythic flowberry fizz drop from a boss and it has infinite juice but it takes 2 seconds to activate and heals at 7 shield per second
This is a great argument for comp players but I wouldn’t recommend following this if your a casual
I love how he said there’s “inventory space.” if I carry a shotgun, ar, grapple and heals I won’t have room for a sniper. If I carry a shotgun,ar, fizz, and heals i still got no room for a sniper unless I drop something and same for the blade. I really think it’s what u like better. Fizz isn’t infinite. Together you & your duo would have 200 fizz. But grapple is infinite and u can js box up and let it charge
I already play mostly nobuild, so it's kinda useless to me, like there aren't that many walls you can use in a fight, if you're not in ruined reels.
Once you get into high enough lobbies the entire game is a heal off anyways so you don’t even need weapons

I dont really carry medkits, (as its VERY inconvenient and only has 1 use while I could have space for say a sniper and I mostly play zero build) so the inventory space does matter to me.
You can get like 3-4 hits off if you know what to do
I grapple to the enemy, hit the spin when im close then use the knock back (repeat)
Or you can go to hope and buy one and buy a rift to rift outside where she’s at to go somewhere else faster
When you’re getting a bunch of kills, it’s not hard to get your hands on a grapple gun. You and your teammate could find one each pretty much every game.
