So, why should we be getting? Lumagen or Madvr envy core?
@@muddasirsultan6256 I got mine because I have an older JVC projector that doesn't have any tone mapping built in. But if you have a device that has basic tone mapping, these devices will get you to the best your picture can get. These devices take all of the processing power from your display or set top box and handles all the number crunching for the video. I would compare it to having a PC with built in video on the motherboard or on the chip. Then adding a dedicated video card/GPU. No more color banding, pixelation, jitter is gone. Just a clear, smooth accurate (as long as the colors on the display have not been messed with)color picture. Yes they are a bit pricey, but its a device you will have for a long time. Thats how I feel about my Lumagen Radiance Pro. The one I have is old and It's built like a tank.
Lumagen has sold out with their flat panel TV customers with Lumagen. With their latest firmware updates, the DTM dynamic tone mapping don't work with TVs anymore. Sad really, and Lumagen hasn't even addressed this to customers with existing Lumagens & TVs OLED'S ect. Hands have been washed
Interesting. I wonder why that wouldn’t work? The box wouldn’t know that it’s plugged in to a TV right? It just knows what the capabilities of the display are. The biggest market for Lumagen is television… seems like they would be all
about that group.
The way Lumagen do the DTM it makes it overly bright like a constant clipping with OLEDS now with HDR in and out no matter what you try. You can change the colour space to SDR 2020 with Mapping on. However this looks flat and Zero punch. I am surprised Jim has not addressed this publicly thanks.
