I want to let you know, for your own peace of mind, you should definitely watch the very end of the video. Even if you don't react to it because it is so short, it is something I think you need to see and would enjoy, it's beautiful. Dimash, with all of his WONDERFUL talent and skill and stage presence, is still a very down-to-Earth and humble person. He likes to pay respect where it is due. He does that at the end of the video. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He regularly speaks the Kazakh language and Russian follows right after that because they are related countries. He is picking up other languages, of course.
Some French people (being French people and not giving any fucks at all) decided to be jerks about their language after he sang SOS the first time. He has sung it many times since and improved his language skills so he might still have some accent but at least he does not get the words wrong anymore. I do not know if he has decided to learn the entire French language or to just stay away from it because of all the jerks who complained SO LOUDLY.
The part in the middle of this song (where you had to grab your jaw and manually close your mouth) is a funeral dirge for the original vocalist for A-Studio, the band that played with Dimash here. He is technically covering their song with their help and he paid homage to the missing member; that part is not in the original version of the song.
Did you notice the man in the white shirt during the standing ovation? That is Igor Krutoy; writer, pianist, producer...very famous man, especially in Russia, likely one of the most prolific producers on Earth. After seeing this performance by Dimash in person, Mister Krutoy he came out of retirement in order to work with Dimash.

None of us ever know what DIMASH is going to do in any new song he gives us; I found him 5 yrs. ago and still am in awe of him and addicted to his voice need daily to hear him. But still just as surprised as you were, what he does is super-human vocals and we have no reference point to help us, he leaves us like floundering sheep in a storm every performance. The fact that you have the emotions you do when hearing him shows your ear for music is fine tuned and at least you recognize greatness, just feel bad for the few that do not have that gift and are still living in denial of him.(there aren't many but only a few).
even if this kind of music is not your cup of tea, you have to ungrudgingly recognize that this man's voice is one of the best the world has listened to ever.

Hi Bisscute! You are right about so many things. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, 27 years old and his name Kudaibergen means God-given. It's getting clearer now, isn't it? Many people believe that he is an angel with a mission on Earth to awaken human souls. After the first few songs, people become addicted in the most wonderful way and at some point they realize that it's not just music. Always seek the spiritual message! And there are so many.

Thanks for a great reaction. Sinful Passion is a Russian song which was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio. At the end of the video, Dimash humbly thanked A-Studio who were the musicians for this performance.
Dimash is from Kazakhstan and speaks Russian and Kazakh. He's now learning Mandarin and English. He has performed in 13 languages including Kazakh, Russian, Mandarin, English, French, Italian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Serbian, Kyrgyz, German, Spanish and Japanese
The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish". But of course Dimash does it to perfection and it’s wonderful that he’s introduced this classical technique into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.

Hello, Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but in this country 70% of the population speaks Russian because Kazakhstan is part of the former Soviet Union! But Anyway, Dimash speaks 8 or 9 languages at a very high level.

Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words.❤️🎤🌹🔝🔝👏👏👏👏 Dimash is singing in Russian and he speaks fluently too.

Always so entertaining to see someone who appreciates real talent and beautiful heartfelt music react to such an amazing singer as Dimash for the first time. Promise me you won’t finish your Dimash journey without reacting to Dimash’s cover of Ikanaide. All of his music is special, and all of it worth it’s weight in gold but in my humble opinion Ikanaide is really something else again.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan, which was part of the USSR, and so Russian is his second language. This song is in Russian.
He learnt some Mandarin whilst in China for 3+ years, and is getting fluent in English. He has sung in many languages using phonetics, and can partly commmunicate in some of these.
He has lots of wonderful songs from his home culture. Kazakhstan teaches it’s children arts and sports all through school and college.
He has been awarded as a National Treasure in his homeland.

The language of the song was Russian. The original artists were A-Studio, a Kazak (from Kakaztan) band that were mainly based in Russia. Dimash is also Kazak and now mainly performs in Russia so he has some affiliation with the band. The song was originally released in Russia by A-Studio a year or two before the year 2000, and I would guess that with Dimash's star rapidly rising just before 2020 the band A-Sudio would have been honoured to collaborate on a revision of the original and play as the backing band to Dimash. Igor Krutroy was shown in the video clip standing and clapping at the end of the performance. This was probably the first time that Krutroy had heard Dimash live, and shortly afterwards he came out of retirement to expressly collaborate with Dimash on many new and reworked songs and performances.

Dimash is fluent in Kazakh and Russian because they are the main languages in Kazakhstan.. He speaks English and Mandarin pretty well now. Then he sings phonetically in about 9 more languages due to his classical training, which really focuses on Italian (Ogni Pietra / Olimpico). His French pronunciation is pretty good since SOS was one of his first big hits. He recently took on singing in Japanese for Ikanaide. Japanese reviewers said he had very good pronunciation. I suspect he can get by in some of the Turkic languages that are related to Kazakh. He learns fast and he studies hard. This is the life he has chosen, so he is 100% into it. The power of a fully committed person can be quite shocking.

Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen?
Dimash is born in 1994, May 24, height: 1.91m; 6'3 '. He has been training in music since he was 5 years old. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’, having achieved a perfect pitch. He has composed 12 of his own songs so far and is currently working on his doctorate. We have to call him soon Doctor Dimash Qudaibergen. 😃
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin (dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him). So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, has a perfect pitch.
Experts consider Dimash a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Some believe that he sings his high notes not as a countertenor, but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.
His current range is almost G0 - D8 (out of piano)! At least, that show us Dimash. 😃
Dimash is humble, kind, generous, respectful, reserved and very, very hardworking. He donates a lot of time and money to charity, supports people in need and always does so quietly. We only find out because some people feel the need to talk about it.

You will see what most of us all see in Dimash, he's humble and kind as can be. The audience there reacts differently than most western cultures. Instead of standing and screaming and blocking the audience behind them from seeing, they politely sit and applaud showing respect and then they show their appreciation by giving flowers. I think it's great ~! would love to see something like that at my next one, but I live in the US, so that's not gonna happen, unless Dimash comes back and all his Dears will come and shower him with flowers.................... and scream and jump up and down.
