Hes from Kazakhstan and is there upon invitation. Within 48 hrs of this being viewed in China it had over 6,000,000 views and he wss assigned body guards. This blew his career wide open. He is 27 now and has been in formal training for 22 yrs. Yes. Since he was 5. He sings in 12 languages and plays 8 instruments. He had a sold out worl tour was cancelled due to Covid but he was able to play NY in the U.S. and fans came from 68 countries to attend! You just witnessed the greatest vocalist off all time. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask), has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China. As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition. Congratulations on your reaction, Dimash is a very humble and simple boy, for what i have read and seen he highly appreciates his roots and exposes them when he can in his presentations. He is very respectful of everyone and kind. He was competing in The World´s Best in 2019 but he retired. This caused annoyance in Rupaul but Dimash was more concerned with leaving the little ones that competed with him frustrated and seeing the level and quality that he has, he would very likely have won. By the way the prize was of 1,000,000.00 dollars.

I’ve been listening to him since 2017 when he was on the Singer competition. No one knew who he was. The other singers are professional singers from China. Some one from the show heard him and he was invited to sing. The audience clapped for him because they were asked to give him a warm welcome. A Kazakh boy, in a Chinese compition(doesn’t speak a word of Chinese) singing a French song(doesn’t speak French). He had to sing first and he won the first round of the competition. Everyone was shocked. They only expected him to last a few songs and then he would be eliminated. He went on to come in second. The person who beat him was a very well known singer in China. Millions of people watch this show and overnight he was a sensation. Truely, overnight he needed security to go outside. He couldn’t figure out why he would need security. No one knew him. The rest is history and Dimash is still making history. He has had concerts in Russia, China, New York, Kazakistan, London, Dubai and many other places. All sold out. Because of Covid, he has had to stop doing concerts. His next one is in Dubai on March 25. He has millions of fans and fan clubs all over the world. At the New York concert, 40 some countries and 30 plus states were represented in the audience. I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my RUclips recommendations for more than a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation," and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera, vocal students, professional singers, and music producers. I just came across your channel (and subscribed). Like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, delivery, and stage presence. Here is some information about Dimash. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh. Kazakhs are a separate indigenous people from regular Kazakhstanis. They are the original Nomad tribes from the steppes; some still live as nomadic people. Dimash is a direct descendant and lives traditionally with his extended family, and they keep all the cultural traditions. It is custom that the firstborn son of a family is given to a set of grandparents to raise for at least 10 years. Dimash was entrusted to his paternal grandparents, and they raised him and instilled confidence in him. They raised him to believe that God had a great plan for him, and he should pursue it and dedicate himself to that plan with his entire being. When Dimash was five years old, he pointed out to his grandparents that the piano was out of tune, and they immediately realized what that plan was. They decided to enroll him in the best children's music school, and thanks to Dimash's parents' relative fame, he was accepted. There he took piano lessons, started singing, and was found to have perfect pitch. His family was determined to afford him every opportunity; there was no room for slack, and Dimash's personality and character enabled him to dedicate himself entirely to his craft. We are now enjoying the fruits of that labor. Dimash is university-educated with degrees in classical/Opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master's class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music." He graduated with Honors, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now, and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path, and he has been very successful thus far. He sings in 13 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. According to some analysts, his range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest, are vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during any live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His primary genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles, and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g., screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, and Tribal and Middle Eastern styles (Arabic melismas), which are technically very distinctive and very difficult to master. Excellent first Dimash reaction. He really may be the greatest male singer alive. This is not even showing his full range yet. This was his first breakout song on the Chinese show Singer, 4+ years ago. If you want to react to some more and stay somewhat chronological, I would recommend, Opera 2 and Adagio from the same show as good next steps. If you want to hop around, Stranger, Ave Maria and Ikanaide from this year are all great performances too. Another really surprising artist/performance that you might want to react to is Morrisette Amon:Akin Ka Na Lang, in the Wish Bus Studio. She is another rare talent.

Hes from Kazakhstan and is there upon invitation. Within 48 hrs of this being viewed in China it had over 6,000,000 views and he wss assigned body guards. This blew his career wide open. He is 27 now and has been in formal training for 22 yrs. Yes. Since he was 5. He sings in 12 languages and plays 8 instruments. He had a sold out worl tour was cancelled due to Covid but he was able to play NY in the U.S. and fans came from 68 countries to attend! He calls us fans his Dears as he says we are an extension of his soul. He is the most humble, kind and respectful man. Youve just opened yourself up to a whole new experience. You just witnessed the greatest vocalist off all time. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask), has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. This performance was his introduction to the world in 2017, on the Chinese singing competition “I am Singer”. I would highly recommend “Sinful Passion “ 2018 next. He has a ton of newer material, but it’s great to see his growth through older performances. Believe it or not, he’s only gotten better. Each performance will leave you stunned. Dimash sings in many languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, Italian, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyzstan, Arabic and Japanese. This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian.
First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China.
As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

Congratulations on your reaction, Dimash is a very humble and simple boy, for what i have read and seen he highly appreciates his roots and exposes them when he can in his presentations. He is very respectful of everyone and kind. He was competing in The World´s Best in 2019 but he retired. This caused annoyance in Rupaul but Dimash was more concerned with leaving the little ones that competed with him frustrated and seeing the level and quality that he has, he would very likely have won. By the way the prize was of 1,000,000.00 dollars.

I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my RUclips recommendations for more than a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation," and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera, vocal students, professional singers, and music producers. I just came across your channel (and subscribed). Like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, delivery, and stage presence.
Here is some information about Dimash. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh. Kazakhs are a separate indigenous people from regular Kazakhstanis. They are the original Nomad tribes from the steppes; some still live as nomadic people. Dimash is a direct descendant and lives traditionally with his extended family, and they keep all the cultural traditions. It is custom that the firstborn son of a family is given to a set of grandparents to raise for at least 10 years. Dimash was entrusted to his paternal grandparents, and they raised him and instilled confidence in him. They raised him to believe that God had a great plan for him, and he should pursue it and dedicate himself to that plan with his entire being.
When Dimash was five years old, he pointed out to his grandparents that the piano was out of tune, and they immediately realized what that plan was. They decided to enroll him in the best children's music school, and thanks to Dimash's parents' relative fame, he was accepted. There he took piano lessons, started singing, and was found to have perfect pitch. His family was determined to afford him every opportunity; there was no room for slack, and Dimash's personality and character enabled him to dedicate himself entirely to his craft. We are now enjoying the fruits of that labor.
Dimash is university-educated with degrees in classical/Opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master's class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music." He graduated with Honors, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career.
Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now, and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path, and he has been very successful thus far.
He sings in 13 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
According to some analysts, his range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest, are vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during any live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His primary genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles, and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g., screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, and Tribal and Middle Eastern styles (Arabic melismas), which are technically very distinctive and very difficult to master.

DIMASH the man that shut down the Chinese internet with this performance and over night became a world sensation needing bodyguards the following day after this performance. It was about 5 years ago and since then has become re-nouned as the worlds best vocalist ever. He is singer, actor, composer, dancer, multi-instrumentalist, fashion model, karate belt holder, humanitarian, and all around exceptional human being. In many countries he is in children's textbooks as a role model to strive to be like.
