  • Truly, Josh is an inspiration for all of us! Tonight, we are with the North Star Concertina Club! The monthly meetings are held at the Red Barn, VFW Post 8752, Cottage Grove, Minnesota! Start time is about 7:00pm till? It is always a lot of fun! Everyone is always welcome! Sometimes, we are lucky to have two of the manufacturers of the Concertina attend these meetings! Bob Novak the builder of the Echo Concertina! Jerry Minar builder of the Hengel Concertina! Would you like to order a brand new Concertina? If you have a Concertina that needs repair, they can help you out! I guarantee it! We love the Concertina! Thank you Josh for sharing this music with us!

It's kinda an Accordion morphed into a Concertina shape. You could theoretically play Piano pieces due to its huge range.

Rachmaninoff's arrangement of Our National Anthem sounds great on this thing

It sounds like an Accordion but it's easier to play thanks to all of the Keys labeled w/ numbers plus you get to read tableture. I figured out that w/ a 130 Key Chromatic Chemnitzer Concertina (there are versions w/ more than 130 Keys like the 152 Key Chemnitzer but those are being revived) you can play Organ arrangements of songs, cause the Treble Side can simulate the Right Hand, the Chord Notes can simulate the Left Hand & the Bass Notes can simulate the Pedals. Albert Nechanicky was a really musical genius.

    Is this instrument chromatic?

All bisonoric instruments produce two notes depending upon whether the bellows are pushed or drawn. All chemnitzer concertinas are bisonoric. It is considered between a chromatic or diatonic instrument. Hence, bisonoric.

So it's not chromatic then in how many keys can you play with The Chemnitz Concertina?
